(Body wash, laundry detergent, razor, trash bags, paper goods, baby formula, baby diapers etc) (So buying customer can buy the products) Do I look like I’m going to steal? (If it’s lock up, I will bring it to the front for you. What’s the point of locking up if we just hand the products to you?)

EBT cards are a license for fraud. We need to go back to soup kitchens and government cheese. No financial transactions needed. I see people using EBT cards to buy $12 combo meals at fast food restaurants. Such an incredibly expensive way to buy low-nutrition food.
Stealing is never right thing to do no matter what , there food banks and EBT for the low income. Some peoples that are stealing are not always hungry they probably sale it for money to buy drugs.
Go to the back of your grocery store. Where their produce is. Ask them if they have any produce that they’re throwing out? Tell them You need it for your farm animals. They’ll give you a bunch of perishable groceries like bread, fruits, and vegetables. It’s completely random what you’ll get but at least it’s food. You can go to the bread factory, bakery ask them the same question, you’ll got a truckload of bread. The food you’ll get won’t be perfect and pretty but it’s edible and it will keep you alive.
When someone has nothing to lose, what is to prevent them from committing these atrocious acts? The root cause of the problem is the disparity of wealth, where some people have next to nothing.
My local Walmart started locking up toothbrushes. The cheap, $2 toothbrushes. It just pissed people off and everyone just went across the street to Target to get them. That only lasted a few weeks before they took the locks off.

Mom and pop store employees are often family members or friends. They can apprehend a shoplifter and use the force necessary to hold them there. Corporate stores will terminate their employees for doing the same. There’s the problem! Good luck everyone!!
It's a liability thing. If the employee who works for a corporation hurts the thief they can be sued big time, or if the thief seriously injures the employee that can be a lawsuit too.

National would mean Hawai’i is part of America, which we are not. The Hawaiian Kingdom has been illegally occupied by the US for the last 129 years, we were never legally acquired by the US. All of our hardships are a result of the impact of that occupation and the US violating international humanitarian law via The Hague Regulations and Geneva Conventions by transporting its population into our Kingdom illegally.

I never bought into the argument that "we need to blame and stop shoplifting, because it's us the customers who in the end have to pay more for the same product!" I never bought into it. It's an ethical/moral argument that juxtaposes against greedy and avaricious corporations who thieve considerably more. You're assuming that everybody is moral and ethical in society, including the corporations. The biggest thief in the entire equation are the corporations themselves. And what's to say that a corporation like Coca Cola won't come out and say, "people have been stealing our coke and so that $1 coke is now going to be $1.50!" in order to boost profits? You don't know. And so you're creating resentment among poor people between and amongst themselves when you have the wealthy living in their ivory towers laughing at all of the profits they've made.
When I tried Spam just to see what the deal was it was the saltiest canned meat I ever had! 😵💫Like the meat was made up of 50% salt! But I love canned Vienna sausages.
That’s why you eat it with a lot of rice! When everything here costs substantially more than it does elsewhere, people do what they have to do to survive.
The saltiness is an acquired taste. When you eat it at a young age, you like it. As you get older, it's your favorite meal w/ rice. Can't afford bacon, sausage buy Spam; cheaper compared to them. The saltiness is what brings you back. It's like crack cocaine.
A big reason for this is inflation/ an already impossible cost of living. Rich people come up and buy Hawaiian land, rent it to other rich people that can afford it, and leave the natives with nothing.
