Co-written by Mark Lanegan, who is all over the "Songs for the Deaf" album. Before his work with QOTSA, he led the band Screaming Trees, which many consider to be the first "grunge" band.
Thank you guys for finally hitting some more QOTSA! I cannot recommend highly enough checking out more of them. If you do, Better Living Through Chemistry or Mexicola would be a good next step. Peace!
My daughter & I absolutely love the song & the video. They told Dave to play as hard as he could on this song he said he broke like 27 skins on the drums. Dave also played the drums in the band Them Crooked Vultures. His first band before Nirvana was Scream & that's how Kurt Cobain had heard about him
mexicola, regular john, you can't quit me baby, songs for the dead, millionaire, headache Shit, these guys were epic in the early days. Some fantastic rock music to explore
I think there used to be a game called “Gremlins” where you would try to run over the gremlins…maybe they combined the two video games… great reaction!
Yeeeeasssss!! O damn I needed that. Cheers me up every time. Great watching this with you guys! I found this track because of Nickelodeon or whatever doing an advert for new adventures of Batman. And they used the guitar solo from this. Crazy eh!?
Yall should react to GO WITH THE FLOW........BY QOTSA. such a badass video and song....Dave grohl kills on drums ....on every track on this album.....bet
Don’t they call Josh Homme the red headed Elvis? I think I remember reading that somewhere. Desert Rock or Stoner Rock! Them Crooked Vultures and The Eagles of Death Metal are awesome as well 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘
Check out Kyuss. The former band of Joshua Homme and Nick Olivieri. Hurricane, One Inch Man and Green Machine. Also check out Eagles Of Death Metal - I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News). Joshua Homme on bass
Several members of this band were in Kyuss as well . Check them out . They were coined as Desert Rock . Stoner Rock with a twist if you ask me . They were definitely the precursor to QOTSA .
Great tune and band, Grohl sure did a amazing job on this album, he also did when he drummed on Killing Joke´s self titled 2003 album, hope you check out the mighty Killing Joke out one day, the problem is where to start as they have 15 albums behind their belt so far. I suggest "Millenium" or "The Wait".
CLUTCH is a band you all would love ! And they have a million songs to choose from to react to . And everything they do is different to an extent . Back me up Trash Talkers , I KNOW there are diehard Clutch fans seeing this right now .
You should check out the group Them Crooked Vultures, which is Dave Grohl on drums, Josh Homme on guitar/vocals (lead singer of QOTSA), and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin on bass. New Fang or Elephants (live version) would be good songs to check out.
For the live shows, they also had Allain Johannes who played with QOTSA and was also in the band What Is It? with Hillel Slovak, Jack Irons, and Flea... They became the Red Hot Chili Peppers when Anthony Keidis replaced Allain.
If im not mistaken, I beleave i read that Dave broke a Guinness record for being the only person to have 3 number one hits at the same time with 3 different groups, this song, a song with foo fighters, n a previous un released song by nirvana that came out when they released there box set called 'you know your right'
Hi guys! Been following your channel for a while now and I'm always amused, keep up the good work! You did a reaction to alter bridge a few years ago, can I recommend you guys to watch the live performance at Albert hall, specifically words darker then their wings? It will blow you away. Again, keep up the good work! Nice reaction as always ❤️
Such a great song, album, and band. Them Crooked Vultures is another great band with Josh Homme (the singer), Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones (bass player for Led Zepplin). If you're interested in Grohl's life, his book "The Storyteller" is a GREAT read!
Not gonna lie, I wasn't a fan of this song when I was a teen but now .....this is catchy and the video is great!!! And as a New Englander I agree that deer looked cold so bring it in to warm it up lol. Venison is so damn tasty. I'll have to send you guys some of these jerky sticks I get all the time. 3 different kinds, 1 is Venison, 1 is elk (very sweet) and 1 water Buffalo.
QOTSA first 5 albums are fire. Go with the flow should be your next one and make sure watch the video because it won the best video award that year. Homme is a musical genius in his own right along with Grohl. So many good projects he's been a part of.
This is one of the main tracks that instantly floods my head with memories of playing guitar hero with friends and family. Everyone had that game, man. That may be why it sounds familiar to y'all.
They are desert stoner rock. Josh Homme grew up near Joshua Tree. Check out the band Kyuss . Josh was guitar player but John Garcia was the singer. They did some shows with Tool. There’s video of Tool covering a Kyuss song called Demon Cleaner. I think you guys reacted to their song Catamaran, but they have a lot of good tracks. Also, the Anthony Bourdain episode with Josh Homme in desert is the best episode
QOTSA is one of my all time favorites. The first song by then I ever heard was If Only of their debut self-titled album, and I highly recommend it. Great band. Josh Homme is the Ginger Elvis.
There is a live version of this song played for a radio station (only with guitar and bass) I love that version. Obviously the percussion in the normal version is excellent, but the bass sound in the other version is beautiful.
This video fills me with nostalgia and I remember it because of the participation of the great Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters, remembering his past on drums when he was in Nirvana playing in a BRUTAL way, going into Beast mode with those drumsticks..
Check out other songs by QOTSA: Little Sister, Go With The Flow and a collaboration between Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor and Josh Homme called MANTRA (instrumental version is better).
Desert rock and stoner rock is what I've heard them called. Josh Homme is the lead singer, and he's the main person behind the band, was also singer in Kyuss.
Dave Grohl used the drum beats from Chic. He drummed on the Songs For The Deaf album and most of the …Like Clockwork album. Joey Castillo was their main drummer. Dave recommended Jon Theodore to Josh while …Like Clockwork was being recorded. Jon did one track on it, and has been their drummer ever since. Please check out the video for “Sick, Sick, Sick”. 🤘
Y'all remember that scene in Crocodile Dundee where he shoots at the poachers pretending to be the kangaroo? I'm convinced this video is a longer version based on that
Dave did a drum session with a band called Killing Joke and it is pretty awesome. I think it is a self titled album as well if you want to look it up. Yellow album cover with a clown face on it.
you're not a fan because in terms of ROCK OR MUSIC you don't understand anything at all... by the way, I'd like to know what you're a fan of so I can laugh a good bit. ruclips.net/video/vRBDGJCgJaU/видео.html
Hey guys, love your genuine & humorous reactions ❤ awesome song & Dave grohl can do anything,I didn't know he was in movies, but I do know he has written a book & he's in tenacious d video for tribute,he's the devil.
So happy you guys did this because QOTSA is on of my favorite bands. Dave Grohl also drummed for Killing Joke album also called Killing Joke. It was around the same time he did QOTSA. It's worth the listening and you can tell Dave is drumming. More QOTSA. Also this song is kinda good timing for 420. You guys are the bast!
Gap Band is where he got the riffs for Nirvana. The house in Studio 666 (movie) wasn’t his. MTV Cribs went to Taylor Hawkins house. The Foos documentary was at Dave’s house. Dave will do session work a lot. His own bands besides Foos and Them Crooked Vultures are Probot and Dream Widow. He’s been on Nine Inch Nails, QOTSA, Tenacious D albums and a bunch of others.
@@davidmassey6332 oh you probably wouldn’t request Catamaran haha. But it’s my favorite 😊 Yeah it was almost 3 years ago so I can see how you could’ve missed it! Sweet I’m excited for another Kyuss video!
@@davidmassey6332 ooohh yeah those are both great songs! I’m a little more partial to Gardenia but they’d probably like Demon Cleaner and knowing that Tool covered it. Yes that is a great album 😊
For me this album was Queens hitting God Mode. Mark Lanegan (RIP), Nick Oliveri, Dave Grohl and Josh all in the same group at the same time. We don't know how lucky we were. I may be biased though as this album got me through Radiotherapy in my mid twenties. So many top, top tunes. As ever gents, awesome reaction. Don't ever stop.
Story: I was in a car with my dad and grandpa. My dad asks, “so how many fish did we catch?” With a large grin I answered him, “No one knows” He knew what I was doing ( I’m a huge music snob, I make references like that all the time 😂 ) Edit; my father is going to the last concert of theirs-!!! My favorite song to play on drums. This is such an eerie song, but the video kind of makes it silly. Still amazing. They’re kind of a super group at times with its rotating members. I’d recommend “Go with the flow” by QOTSA.
Watch the movie/documentary sound city if you want to see a amazing musical journey with Dave and many others and he plays music with so many amazing musicians in it. Including josh hommes from QOTSA, Trent reznor, Paul McCartney etc. The soundtrack is amazing and worth listening to
This whole album is simply fantastic. It's a great album to listen to on a road trip. So many "bangers", as the kids say. 😆
It's my go to road trip album!
Mosquito song should be next reaction!!
If you liked this song You'll love their song "Go With The Flow" it's so catchy and definitely deserves a playlist addition....
That little lead riff they throw in there makes the song a masterpiece.
Now if Homme could just pair up with Scott Reeder again, he would make even better things.
Go with the flow is GOATed
Co-written by Mark Lanegan, who is all over the "Songs for the Deaf" album. Before his work with QOTSA, he led the band Screaming Trees, which many consider to be the first "grunge" band.
Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret is my favourite QOTSA song. I probably shouldn't tell anyone, though.
