For your usb look up on eBay PC/Laptop dash mount usb make to female. They are like $6 and will pop right in where your lighter plug was. I did that in the past and it works perfectly and looks good too
@OK Create - Does the DMX4707s have "gesture touch"... where you can adjust the volume or skip songs using swiping motions on the screen so that you don't have to look down to find the volumn button? I can't seem to find any answer to that even though I know its closely related JVC cousin does have that feature.
No, as I mentioned in the video, I spliced it into the handbrake cable like the directions suggested. Apologies if I didn't make that clear in the video.
There’s literally a thousand videos on RUclips that tell you how to ground that green wire so your unit will work at all times. It’s the easiest thing in the world.
I am well aware of grounding the cable, but that's not what the directions suggested. I'm not saying grounding it is incorrect, it certainly works, but if a newbie installed the radio and wanted to make heads or tails of the directions, it's good to have Kenwood's method out there.
I recently got the same radio installed into my wrangler. When I am receiving a phone call the ringer is painfully loud and I have to quickly answer the call so it stops hurting my ears. Have you had this issue? Everywhere I look I can’t get an answer as to how to fix it.
I wanted to come back to let you know what your issue might be. Phone, media, and assistant all have separate volumes on the radio. Default is usually media, but if you assistant goes off or your phone rings when you adjust the volume, you will be adjusting it without even noticing. I recommend having someone call you and before answering turn do volume down. hope that helps!
@@IlyaBlay the head unit works fine, my only gripe would be the volume controls. The touch pads for them are a little annoying and I wish it had a dial instead.
I had the opposite problem. I can't remember if it was in the brackets or the radio, but there are multiple sets of holes. This will adjust the position of your radio forward and back.

I will check into it for sure. Thanks!
This guy sounds like Kermit

Don't think it does. Let me find the manual so I can confirm that for you!
Liked the video before finishing cause the tape part😂
Best part of the video to be honest.
So you were able to bypass the parking brake by just wiring the ground to the other wire from the receiver?
No, as I mentioned in the video, I spliced it into the handbrake cable like the directions suggested. Apologies if I didn't make that clear in the video.
OK Create thanks. If anyone is wondering, I have the same receiver and wire parking brake wire to ground and that bypassed everything
C V got the same one I’ll make sure to try this
Cristian Pardo yep just splice the park wire into the ground and you’re set
Wow, we’ve found the only guy who ever actually grounded the green wire to the parking brake.

Why is this new headunit causing my speakers to distort at loud volume. My factory headunit didn't do this 0
I'm not sure, I didn't run into that issue. Perhaps your speakers are not strong enough for that volume level on the new unit?

Are you using regular Bluetooth or Carplay/AndroidAuto? It's probably in one of those setting menus. I don't have that issue really.

I haven't! Was there one out recently?
@@TheCreateOutdoors most current update was on june
@@rowboyto156 I'll be sure to update then!
what's the name of the adapter the website gave you?
I don't have the packaging for it anymore, but the wiring diagram says Metra on it.
android for the win! have u ever mirrored it yet?
I tried, but I didn't have the settings right to get it to work fully.
@@TheCreateOutdoors if u ever get it to work please post a video!

Dude, use a plastic trim tool. It hurts to watch you tearing up your dashboard with that metal pry bar!
I used to have plastic ones but they went missing. Our pain is equal.
Since I used the same tool years ago for the first radio I just put the tool in the same spot.
@@TheCreateOutdoors I suppose the damage was already done then 😆
@@TheCreateOutdoors btw does this head unit work smoothly, or is there lag when you're using Android auto or any other functions?

No steering Wheel Controls ?
It's an 05 Forester X, I don't think Subaru had that in mind at the time.
I'm planning on splicing the hand brake wire. How do I find the wire? And which one Exactly should I splice into. I have the same car
Depending on the radio you buy the wires should match in color. I took the center console apart to find the wire.
@@TheCreateOutdoors I splice into a green wire in the car?
@@maxportillo4262 yes, the wire for the parking brake light.
Hey did you have a fitment problem using the oem brackets? Mine sits too deep idk if you had this issue
