Did you have to go back in and wire the green parking break wire (the one you said was parking sensors)? Usually they lock you out of some menus unless parking break is on. Getting ready to install this same unit
You can order them online pretty much anywhere. Try Crutchfield, eBay, Amazon, etc. Worst case scenario, you can make one. Is this what you’re looking for? amzn.to/4fzIGf7
You have to connect Bluetooth and then wireless connect WiFi to the KENWOOD. Sometimes you have to reset your phone but you can go into settings on the KENWOOD to add your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay. Mine works great. Sometimes it doesn’t connect automatically but I reset my phone and it usually does.
Does your WiFi on your phone say you are connected to the Radio? Click the menu button on the radio (top left corner) and click devices and click on your phone to connect.
@@DieselLegiance do I need to have WIFI for this. Thought it runs off my data. I can’t get the CarPlay to connect to my phone at all but I have Bluetooth for kusic
It’s not a true high definition screen, but it is much clearer in person. It’s a budget friendly radio unit. If you paid twice as much, you probably would get a better looking screen.
It looks like you can get a micro HDMI to HDMI type a cable and attach an HDMI female to female coupler to the end of the cable. Then repurpose one of your 12V sockets, replacing it with a 12V HDMI/usb socket. Plug the back end of the HDMI socket cable into the other end of the HDMI coupler and plug the usb cable into the receiver. Full transparency, I haven’t tested this yet personally but plan to once I purchase and install this unit.
Thanks for this video...just purchased this unit today and I appreciate the walk through.
It’s honestly not a bad value for wireless Apple CarPlay & wireless Android auto. It works perfectly fine and looks great. 👍🏼
Thanks for the review, I just installed a Sony in my Jeep and I’m not really happy with the quality. I plan to exchange it for this Kenwood.

I very sorry but I cannot remember as I sold this truck and can’t double check…

Gonna pick one up tomorrow 😁
Did you have an issue with the radio staying on after you turn off the truck
No, when the truck is off and the key is off the radio is off.

Does the screen look this bad in person?

Will my steering wheel controls still work after i install it?
It should if you buy the right harness.
Question I’m having my kenwood DMX8709S install do I need a hdmi micros type male and a male same type C? I have a iPhone want to stream movies
Streaming movies with an iPhone to the KENWOOD is tricky and you may need a special adapter? I think it works on android but iPhones are tricky.
