    Girl I had a legit crazy lady. Her hair was naturally white and she wanted to be blonde. I toned her with shades. The next day she called and told me that she was obviously poisoned by the color because she had diarrhea all night.... Umm wtf are you talking about girl?! Then she says I KNOW it was the color because my diarrhea was the color of the hair color. OK crazy, good luck with the runs.

    Why don’t people listen ?? I have super dark, thick Asian hair naturally. My road to being blonde was nearly a 2 year journey because I LISTENED to my stylist. It took a lot of time and a lot of Olaplex but we finally got there and I didn’t lose any hair lol.
    Anyway I’m a teacher & I work part time as a waitress so I deal with crazy parents & customers ALL the time. Every thing from customers TELLING me we had something on the menu we never had to anger over prices and things I have zero control over. A few months ago I had a couple come in it was them and the girl’s mom. Guy orders a Moscow mule , Mom orders a coffee, and daughter says “decaf” so I repeat “Moscow mule, a regular coffee & a decaf coffee?” And they smiled and said yes. I bring back the drinks back quickly and by then they had already called the manager over to complain that I hadn’t taken the daughters drink order (the one who ordered the decaf.) I apologize and say I thought she had ordered a decaf coffee and she was like “ no I was telling u my mom wants a decaf coffee.” I had repeated the damn order to her but whatever. I apologized and immediately corrected the mistake and brought her a glass of wine.
    Somehow they get a hold of the owner of the restaurant’s email and email him saying I was “disinterested” and about my mistake with the drinks. I was fired the next day. They didn’t even want to hear my side of what happened.
    Idk why people think it’s ok to treat people in certain industries like crap it’s really appalling. Sometimes I serve kids that are nicer and more polite than their parents lol.
    Anyway girl I love your videos! I have stories for daysssss lol 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

      Brittney Gray I think people get off on it too - there are some people who just live to write mean Yelp reviews lol. And yes I appreciate that my stylist was honest and hard working and that I was smart enough to take her advice when going blonde. I think people think “Kim K went platinum in 1 sitting!” Well she has millions of dollars and every resource at her finger tips and probably had 2 whole days to just sit and get her hair done lol

    Just saying, white or "granny" hair will always be in style as long as Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons is an icon.

    I'm a server and I had a lady came to my table and said I want wild alaskan (that's a fish) and then I said sure whatever you want I'll give it to you. But then she said I'm highly allergic to all seafood.😑 I looked at her and then I told her wild alaskan is fish. Then she told me no it's not. lol I had to Break it down that yes it's seafood it comes from the Ocean. She got mad and told me no it's not and it's from a Farm. And I told her yes they have farm of fish that is seafood. Then she wanted to talk to my boss and he had to tell her the same thing then she walks out. And we never seen her again. Two days later she called and talk to my GM and told him the same thing and my GM was like you want to died because that's is seafood then she said you know what bye and we never talked to her again. I work at Starbucks. You can imagine some of the stories I have. So like, most customers, like 95% are wonderful, understanding and beautiful humans. But from that other 5%, I've been screamed at, insulted and made to feel very uncomfortable. One time, I was making drinks on bar and an older couple approached the handoff counter. The man said he was waiting for a coffee still. And I said okay, I'll grab that, what size was it? And was it a regular brewed coffee or something else (sometimes, people say "coffee" and mean "latte"). Well apparently, that was two questions too many for him. This man, with no objections from his wife, by the way, screamed at me "I just want a coffee UGH!" and stomped his foot. Like a toddler.
    Another time I was on register and a woman came up and started ordering for her whole group, which is fine, but then as I got everything rung up, she wanted to change something. So I was confused about what and asked her which one. She must have mistook my confused look for a mean or sour look, because she flipped out. "Just forget it!" She said and stormed off to where her group was. Proceeded to loudly inform them that the girl on the register was rude and then yell at me as she left that I refused to change her order and she was going to call corporate.
    And then recently a coworker of mine handed off a drink to a woman in the drive thru who I guess was not satisfied with the amount of time she had to wait and spit in my coworker's face.
    🙃 people use these types of employees as emotional punching bags for their other problems. I will never understand it haha

    • @LuckyFireFerret

      I can vouche. I also work at Starbucks.
      A man came through the drive tru for a mobile order that his wife put through but unfortunately her sticker didn't come through. So I told him, "I'm sorry sir, we don't have a sticker for your wife's order. What did she order, we would be happy to make it for you if you know what she wanted or if you wanted to call her?"
      It was fair, we were going to make the drink and hand out whatever food he would say to help him out. Sometimes our sticker machine jams or shuts off so we were happy to fill the order but we just had to know what drink to make.
      He said he didn't know what she ordered and instead of calling his wife to clarify (no one was behind him so he could have called since he wasn't holding any line up) he screamed at us that his wife had an order and it should be. He drove off an hour later the wife comes in saying her husband told her that we "refused to make her drink and refused service".
      Also I worked drive through and someone ordered a bacon gouda sandwich and some egg bites. My shift lead said "yeah we have those" so I told the couple in the car their order will be ready at the window. After they pulled away from.the speaker box I help a car at the window, when my shift lead tells me that she was mistaken and we were out of bacon gouda. When they got to the window I asked if there was any other sandwich that they wanted to replace it (we would keep the shame charge) or just to remove it from the total and only charge for the eggs. And the wife went OFF yelling at me saying "you really should tell people if you are out of something at the screen. I can't believe you made us wait in line for NOTHING" and I just sorta say "I'm sorry but I was told we had the food in stock when you were at the screen and I wasn't .made aware until you were already pulled away." And she said "that's no excuse!" And I can't remember what she was saying because I added "this isn't fun for me either".
      Because some customers act like employees purposefully make life harder for them, but what would any of gain from this, why does she think I would choose to sell an item that we have out of stock to make this person unhappy.
      Sorry this was way too long, I'm high.

      I work at Starbucks too. One time a lady came in and ordered a drink then pointed at the bakecase and said “And I want that.” I couldn’t see what she was pointing at from behind the counter so I walked around and asked her which one she wanted. She said “the triangular one” so I assumed she meant the scone because it was the only triangular one. When I tried handing her a fresh one she said “No, THAT one!” and huffed at me. Her screaming caught me off guard so I was looking at her when she pointed at the bakecase and asked her again. She screamed so loud she spat in my face “The one next to the donut!!” But the donut was in between 2 other pastries so I asked “the danish or the bagel?” “THAT. ONE” I reached for a fresh danish (which was rectangular by the way) and she had the audacity to say “that was much harder than it should’ve been for you..” I just smiled and rung up her order but there have been very few times I’ve wanted to slap someone harder.

    Pausing the video to tell this story. I work at a spa in a rich neighborhood. I would say 80% of the clients are amazing. 10% are a little strange but harmless. The other 10% are insane. I had a client call the spa one day to tell us she was lost and going to be late. She was frantic and I knew she was having a panic attack. I sat on the phone with this woman for 20 minutes trying to get her to pull over and calm down before driving. I was getting her directions. I was nice and understanding. And all this woman did was curse me out incessantly until she got so fed up she hung up the phone. She then walked into the spa a few minutes later and straight up denied being on the phone with me and cursing at me even though I knew it was her because she told me which Massage Therapist she had the appt with when we were on the phone. It was bizarre.

Another time my boss had one product thrown in her face by a very angry self intitled old bimbo... Other things occurred too. Fuck people. I'm out. I now work in a very reserved office where I have the less client interaction as possible. We used the shittiest box dye there was and applied a 12% H2O2 (40vol) with wellas blonding powder and I kid you not. IT. LITERALLY. EXPLODED. Parts in the foil swelled up and started making a crackling noise and it puffed out grey smoke.

    • @ffaf295

      Patricia Sheck paul mitchell and Tigi are salon end shampoos. If they’re found in a grocery store they’re diverted goods, but still salon brands. Some but NOT ALL of lower end ranges like dove, etc. , can cause the reaction :)

    I'm late but i work in a beauty supply store. I had a woman come in with her hair covered. She wanted an ash blonde wig, a product we rarely have. I asked all of my usual questions and she took off her hair wrap randomly and started to talk about how she needed advice to fix her hair. She tried to bleach her black box dyed hair blonde and it fried. It was so crunchy it was breaking off. I told her i doubt anyone would try to re bleach it and she should just get a cut and let a professional dye her hair next time. She freaked out and then wanted a blonde ponytail when her hair was strawberry blonde with a weird red color. She stayed for 2 hours before i sold her 2 wigs and a blonde ponytail just do she would leave. She came back later ,THE SAME DAY, and wanted blonde clip in extensions. I showed ger the blonde ones but she wanted silver. The only silver ones we had were like $200. I told her several times the price but she insisted that she wanted them. As i was telling her her total she go mad and told me i lied about the price and that they were supossed to be $80. I explained that the first blonde ones i had showed her were that price and she could always purchase those instead. She quickly demanded that a manager sell her the silver ones for the $80 because i had given her the wrong information. The manager said no and she grabbed the hair like she was going to take it then threw it at me, cussed me out,blamed me for frying her hair and left.

    • @jessm7482
      @jessm7482 5 лет назад +16

      Leonie Choiseau the girl originally came in for advice- believing her “fried” hair could still be saved. Upon the OP telling her that she shouldn’t re-bleach it and only allow a professional near it, she obviously tries to ask for all the help she can get to do it herself (or that’s what the comment implies). It took 2 hours and the best option for her hair at that point would be a wig. The problem wasn’t with selling her a wig- the problem was the girl wanted advice to “fix” her hair herself that was literally crunchy and falling out- clearly no one can self help that besides cutting it off at that point. The woman obviously was in denial and would’ve persisted in self help remedies when the OP decided to sell her the wigs bc obviously after 2 HRs, she probably realised there was nothing she could do. Hope this clarifies it a bit!

And they're all in the young 20's like I am. It's an easy mistake and she shouldn't have argued with her. She should've fixed it on her insta to show the salons address which would still show Los Angeles, CA.

    I work in a grocery store, one old lady made me cry because I accidently charged her for one kind of lettuce when she bought another. It wasn't entirely my fault tho because the cheat paper we get every week (we often get new fruits and vegetables so quite often something changes on those papers) said that this one kind of lettuce had a certain code, but the code was apparently wrong. I was trying to ask my collegues for help and was just generally looking confused because from where I sat, I did nothing out of the ordinary and no one else before her had said anything. No collegues either. Then when I was trying to explain why I was confused she interrupted me and said "no, it's no ones fault but yours, you need to learn how to do your job". The other customers were as shocked as I was, I laughed nervously for a couple of seconds and then I started to cry and had to leave. I was maybe 2 weeks into my new job then. Since I've learned to handle things like that but that was horrible for me.

    Not a hair client horror story, I own a web development company. I build and design websites specifically storefronts. Early on in my business I had a client adamant that the site was too small! He would give me a screenshot or check his screen resolution. Over the course of a few days of making changes the site was looking worse and worse on my end. I finally convinced him to check his screen setting, it was at 800x600! I told him a 17” screen should be at 1024x768, he changed it and was amazed! But now the site is too big! 😒 luckily I kept the original version after a few minutes I reuploaded it and he was like great perfect! Why didn’t you do this in the beginning?!

    I never understood why clients lie about what is on their hair and just their general hair history. I always ask about that in order to have a proper consultation and to be able to take whatever steps necessary to get them to their goal. And when a client lies about that stuff, it can completely mess up the whole process. And I just looooove when clients think just because they color their hair back to their "natural" that the color that was put on previously just magically disappear. Like no all because it looks natural doesnt mean it is. Oh lord girl I can totally feel your pain!!

    This isn't a client story but a personal story. I'm naturally blonde but went brunette for about five years and decided to go back blonde. I used box kits but over a long period of time and used tons of treatments to keep my hair healthy in the process. I should have probably went to a salon but it came out fine. Anyways, a family friend wanted to go blonde, she had black hair. BLACK HAIR. I told her to go to the salon. She refused so I told her if she needed any help at all I will help her and so will a friend of mine that used to work in a salon but it'll take quite a few months. She kept using tubs of bleach on her hair every two days or so and I told everyone to talk to her because her hair is literally going to fall out. Long story short I went to throw something in the trash one night while over at their house and the trash was filled with hair. Her hair fell out.....yup......well, I gave her my discount code for a wig website though lol

    I was a Henna girl lol! I really truly didn't know this would be considered a chemical. I wanted to go lighter, and I remember when my hairdresser started removing the foils. He said, "Shoshana.....did you use Henna?????" Ended up with bright green ends.....and a week later went back to chop off 6 inches to the shortest Bob I have ever had. It was cute at least :P I was VERY young and naive at that time lol.

      EVERYTHING is a chemical. Just because it's natural or a plant doesn't mean it isn't chemical. So many people don't understand that? The deadliest things on this planet are naturally occuring. If it has mass, and atoms, and well exists, it's a chemical. We are made of chemicals. Everything has a reaction to something.

    Girl, I worked in retail forever. Yeah, there were some crazies.
    One lady came to me, from the jump, she was pissed and yelling at me. Asking for discounts I couldn't give her, for reasons that were, quite frankly, bullshit.
    Another time, I had clocked out for lunch, was walking out of the store and this lady flagged me down. She kept asking all these questions, expecting help that would have taken, at least 20 minutes, so I said politely, "I'm on lunch, let me see if I can find someone." She got really condescending and angry, demanding to speak to my manager, who then came over and asked what was going on. This bitch looks at him and goes, "She doesn't want to help me, at all, all she cares about is her lunch, it's all she's talked about." I said it fucking twice. Once when she flagged me down and then when I said I would find someone. I think this woman wanted me to skip my lunch to help her, because that's what I would have been doing.

    She came almost every month and did this *every single tome*! The managers decided it wasn’t worth it to argue with her and would refund her to avoid trouble.
    She knew we knew she was scamming but she just did not care.

    youre so awesome. i recently went to a 'stylist' with photos of a silver grey hair. i told her we will have to lighten my hair and i havent colored it in 4 months...blah blah blah. she goes ok come in. i go there an she shows me three ion colors. one is bright electric blue. one is denim blue and one is steel slate grey. i said well i guess the dark grey because (im also a stylist an really just wanted to treat myself to someone else doing my hair. an i did research her an saw her colors and cuts and stuff)im thinking she will lighten me to prob a 9 since im about a 7-8 base and it will lighten up from dark grey to a silver tone. but.....she just grabs a chunk of my hair from the middle back and slops the grey on it and calls it a test strand. ummmm totally not how that goes. so now im like ok whatever i can fix that and just let her plop the rest on. NOW mind you she turns all the lights down light to create some mood or shit and its dark af in there. i realize by the smell there is no developer in the stuff shes putting on my hair so its not even gonna lift. shes doing a toner on my hair that she hasent even lifted! ok so im like waiting and waiting and then shes like ok then lets rinse it out. and when i get back to the chair and shes drying it i see some of my hair is bright blue and green as its flying around. she mixed all the colors in all the tubes on my head because the one tube without developer wasnt enough. im like listen this isnt the color honey. its rainbow barf not grey. i dont know how but there was green and pink and i could text you the pics of what i wanted to what she did and what my hair looked like before. it was horrible but i was trying to keep a smile. and also she wasnt done and her next client came in so she starts drying my heair to get me to leave before i can see for reals what she messed up. now i know my hair is colored not how i wanted it. but i know she didnt use developer either. so i pay and leave and hit the beauty supply store on the way home. never looking in a mirror because it was so dark in there and i didnt want to see the disaster...i get home and finally go look at my hair and its green blue pink brown spots not even colored and looks like a three year old grabbed chunks and used markers on it. i contact her with photos of what i wanted and what she did. she replied 'im not comfortable using bleach on hair'....bitch i wouldnt have wasted 3 hours and $80 if you told me that. let alone never got a color close to what i wanted on my head. im cool. i said i spent x at the store on the way home and im gonna fix it myself and ill send you the pics step by step...i got my hair to the grey i wanted and sent her the pics. she sent me 50% refund and i didnt badmouth her on social media but honestly it was such a wreck for finally wanting to get my hair done by someone else after taking care of it myself...im just glad she forgot to give me a cut....lol

      You think your hair is good because the product put silicon around your hair , so the damages (maybe you haven’t ) are hidden behind this silicon. Plus, the silicon is preventing anything good to enter in your fiber hair if you try to put good product in it .

    Hotel worker here. I've dealt with tons of crazy people. The worst was a family who came for a wedding and insisted that every room (They had 8) had bed bugs. Manager inspected them all. Nothing. We call in the exterminator to inspect them and maintenance even takes out light switches to check. Nothing. The main guy who was insistent told the general manager if he didn't give him 500$ he was going to get on the table in the breakfast room and scream that we were infested with bed bugs. I wish I was kidding. They stayed the entire time. We must have moved them like 10 times in a weekend and upgraded one of the rooms even. It was ridiculous. After discounts aside and such, they still went to customer care and said "Hotel knows they have a bed bug problem and did nothing to help us. We were eaten all night."

I wanted the granny hair so bad but my peers explained to me how it could be hard taken into consideration that my hair is really really thick and dark. The salon convinced me to get a mint color instead. SO we went ahead and did that. My hair turned not mint but like lapiz lazuly blue. After a few washes it turned mint. Lesson learned: always trust your hairdresser/stylist. Ps I am ashamed because I though all of my previously dyed hair was gone but it didn't and I am so sorry.

    Pure henna do not contain metallic salts, however some henna brands can do. But these should not be considered henna, it's like what box dye is to professional hair dye. Henna alone is strengthening and super good for your hair. BUT if you ever want to bleach it, you gonna have a hard time getting the red out of the hair. But that's the only "danger" with pure henna :)

    I agree with this completely. I started at natural level 6 (very long virgin hair) and made the commitment to strive for a level 10+ (icy platinum-"white") and that whole process took over 4 months, and upwards of $1000 not including copious amounts of hair treatments, and cutting my hair to below shoulder length. It was a complete miracle (also thanks to my talented hair stylist) that I was able to achieve the "white" I have today. Anything below a level 6 will not work without having your hair extremely short as result (or falling out). People need to understand the extreme commitment and sacrifice before hopping on "hair trends". The colour I have is not even white, but rather an extremely light icy platinum.

    Ha it took me like 2 and a half years to get my hair blonde, over 1000 euro in salon appointments and treatments etc. It's still not white blonde and never will be because my hair is just too dark for that but I like the colour it is now. Why can't people be realistic. You're a hairdresser not a magician! Also it's too high maintenance to go from almost black to white, my roots show within a week and I'd have to get it done every 3 weeks if I wanted to look good.

    • @SpicyTealeaf
      @SpicyTealeaf 6 лет назад

      t18 is awesome but its harsh when people use it to lift and will use like 20 volume or higher. yeah it'll lift your hair, it'll get it white, but toners aren't actually supposed to lift...thats why t18 works so well. because its lifting, not just depositing. extra lifting can break or damage it...extra lifting is essentially coloring it again, not toning. salons usually cant get hair super duper white because we will use deposit only color when toning because lifting light blonde hair can cause breakage and we're not in the business of breaking peoples hair off. on healthy hair i have gone through wet hair at the bowl with an oxidative color, so its not impossible. we're the type that are better safe than sorry because our reputations and careers can be at stake. wella's t18 is essentially a violet based oxidative color. i say if you're confident in the health of your hair and you're brave go for it. just always let your stylist know what you did so they can work accordingly on your next service ^_^

    • @foxayfox
      @foxayfox 6 лет назад +2

      Alex Cats my hair is down to my waist so I just trust my hairdresser with whatever she uses on it because she’s never damaged it before. I wouldn’t put anything on it myself between visits. White is too high maintenance, I had it like that for about 4 months and I had to go the salon every two and a half weeks because the toner would just wash out so fast and my roots would show and I’d need a treatment because my hair got dry. Not really worth it.

    Hey gurl, i really appreciate the fact that you decided to do what you wanted to do because you weren’t comfortable and were thinking about your client. I have natural 4c hair that is mid back length when it is stretched out. I am in 7th grade now but in 5th grade I decided to get my hair straightened.
    I went there with my dad and got my hair washed first of all. My dad left and went to do other things while I was here. My hair stylist began detangling my hair. It was painful (as normal because detangling my hair is super painful because it is so stubborn) she couldn’t even do it on her own to the point where she had to get help from another stylist. So 2 stylists are doing my hair and I’m holding back my tears and being patient. (The whole detangling process started at around 7 pm and finished at like 11 pm, I am not even exaggerating like people were packing up and going home) I didn’t cry and the stylist was even telling me stories about her daughters hair. At that point my mom and dad are waiting for me to finish up. They finally get to styling my hair and I did not regret it because it turned out pretty and lasted me 2 weeks, but we walked out of that building at probably midnight. I appreciate those hairstylist for taking a long time to do my hair and finish it all the way through.

    Ok if the vet industry has taught me anything it is RECORD EVERYTHING that way clients can't dispute it. Like for example we always give clients estimates of procedure costs and make them sign an authorization, you should write a document for them to sign just because a lot of black headed girls come in wanting platinum, u can record the level they started at by leaving it blank in ur document and filling it in later, same for the level they want to go and the level you've agreed on going for this visit, and also u could include the estimated sessions on it and put a disclaimer of "results vary due to condition of hair". Just an idea :) could be helpful

    There was a time when even I didn't know certain things about hair. Most of the photos that you see of colorful hair are all photoshopped. I made the mistake of overtreating my hair years ago and it fell out in clumps. It has taken years for my hair to grow back, and I have not colored my hair since. I will never color my hair again. It took years for my hair to go from being brittle pine straw to being healthy again. I'm truly grateful for this channel because she explains certain things that would have saved me a lot of trouble back then. It's important to educate others about how dangerous it is to want instant bleaching effects and things such as that. People should respect hair professionals. They know what they are doing. I love how she says "Your hair is an investment." It truly is. It's amazing to come across someone who is passionate about what they do in a world full of people who work mindlessly in jobs that they hate. I respect this woman.

    Some people no matter what you tell them, no matter what you say they will be soooo persistent on what they want and want it now! These are people that are "thick in the head" my dad's saying. But the thing is you want to keep the integrity of who you are and your salon. When you know you can't do something to someone's hair you're saving their hair and your reputation as a hairstylist who cares about your clients and making them look good walking out of your salon. Good for You! You go girl! She's probably bald as I'm commenting on your video. You are one of those hairdressers that's the best to go to and there are a lot of you out there. You know how far you can take someone's hair, and what's the limit. I used to live in LA. and if I ever get back there I'm going to look you up so I can meet you and you can do my hair! Love you Brittany!❤😊

    Working with people is a NIGHTMARE! I'm a waitress at a local cafe, and just the other day (only a recent example out of THOUSANDS) during my colleague's shift, a dude comes in and orders a glass of warm milk. She tells him that we don't serve just plain milk, but he demands it (no "please", no "sorry", no "thank you"). Ok, she serves him a glass of warm milk, but then he says he likes it sweet, AND again he has an attitude. Ok, she brings him sugar and we're discussing on how she's going to give him the receipt as we don't have a code for a glass of milk. We did the math on how much she should charge him based on the amount of milk she served him, but because he was such an ass and treated her like she's his personal servant, she charged him for the price of a macchiato, which was about double the price he was supposed to be charged (and macchiato isn't really expensive in our country, honestly). He wasn't pleased with it, but he didn't say anything, he paid and angrily stormed out of the cafe. It is absolutely shocking how many people treat waiters as personal servants. And don't get me started on the harassment us waitresses have to face daily by men who haven't gotten laid in a long time (or ever).

I say, "NOPE". Long story short to anyone who works with the general public: saying no is ok.

    Just a suggestion, next time during her first consultation, cut off a strand of her hair &ask her to come back. Do a test bleach and then u will know how much her hair will lift , how long to bleach it, and how many bleaches it will take. If she had VIRGIN hair, u would see uniform color even close to roots. If hair is uneven, do the strand test and even show her what to expect.

      Americans are pushy and impatient unfortunately. Lol. We are taught in beauty school to do strand tests and I actually do if the hair looks damaged or has been previously lightened. I check the hair with my shears prior as well by scraping a wet strand of the hair. If they have a buildup of products or hair color it will come off onto the shear. In those cases I do a clarifying shampoo and make them wait two days. If I think hair had been permed or relaxed I'll do a strand test first as well. But a lot of times people are pushy and swear they don't have any color or use any cheap products in their hair so I'll make them sign a waiver and put into writing they are being truthful as well as that I am not responsible for any adverse reaction that may occur if they are lying.

      I have bleached my hair with Henna in it for a more intense orange color with no problem, it really all depends on what kind of henna you get and where and who you get it from. Never had a bad experience.

    I totally feel you girl. I’ve been a full time stylist for almost 30 years. I specialize in color and people’s expectations are realistic most of the time but the one’s who’s expectations are not realistic..........damn. I think that some people just want what they want and because they don’t fully understand why they can’t have it, they are very insistent that they can have it. The majority of the public will trust us as the professional and respect our opinions, but every once in a while you get one that thinks that they know better than we do. I bet that girl found some hairdresser who promised her the moon and during the service that girl’s hair probably broke off ( or disintegrated) right up to the line of demarcation from whatever metallic bullshit was on her hair. Many years ago I had the same thing happen during a hi lightning service, when I went to check the foil it was too hot to touch. I opened it and steam rose up from a pile of cotton candy like substance that used to be the girl’s hair. It all broke off right at the demarcation line from where she had applied Sun-In two years before ( her hair was almost to her waist.) She neglected to inform me of the Sun-In even though I asked. She thought because it was 2 years prior that it was somehow magically gone from her hair 🙄🙄🙄 She ended up with a shoulder length style 😉

      @@x0xmadix0x So if Yelp reviews are to be believed, the crazy client apparently told her that her hair wasn't chemically treated. Metalic salts are found in almost all standard store bought dyes. They do not mix well with other dyes, and result in...well, the hair chemically smoking/burning and potentially melting off. And these added bonuses: dry out the hair, damage the follicles, dull the sheen, and make the hair become overall brittle. I'm sure chemically testing is a time consuming process and even if offered they'd have declined. And then of course...
      The customer continued to insist that her hair wasn't chemically treated, and when she had the reaction, the stylist backed off, and explained what she could do, even though they weren't going to safely get to what the customer wanted in the end.
      The customer didn't know what TF she was actually talking about throughout all of this.

    I work for a bank and the craziest customer we ever had called in because she was angry about a letter. I checked the letter on our system and realised it was just updating her details like letting us know her address and stuff like that- and she was so crazy hyperbolic offended by the notion of doing that. And she was demanding to speak to like one of the big bosses of the bank whose name is signed at the bottom of the letter. She was like "do you know her? is that a name that was just pulled out of the ether? am I your worst nightmare???" I'm not even exaggerating she did say that. And I was so baffled that she seemed to think this multi billion global bank was basically a small office of about 30 people so of course I'd know one of the heads of it and be able to patch them through to her. I even tried to offer her compensation for her trouble, say I'd raise a complaint for her and she was having none of it. In the end my colleagues and I were like just give her the email of that head of all heads and give it her, she won't get a reply but at least she'll stop screaming on the phone

But I did get one crazier before I left which was a woman who went ballistic any time someone made mention of internet banking. And I checked basically every call was a massive complaint and I ended up having to bite back (albeit politely and professionally) when she tried saying I was forcefully selling her something and was just like “NO! That’s not what happened.” But what I kind of miss is that if someone was a dick to you there (and you can’t really get away with this in the same capacity in retail or service) is being sickeningly sweet as I say goodbye to them just to throw the bike back at them

    This reminded me of when I told my friend (who’s a hairstylist) to get a chemistry degree. She asked me why, and I told her that she’d be able to call bullshit on people who think they know better than her when it comes to hair coloring.
    That and she could understand why there are the same chemicals in hair shampoo and in cleaning products (because it reacts differently to the other chemicals in the products); think baking soda, you can use it for food baking, but if you mix it with vinegar you unclog your sink a bit. Lol.

    I work as a waitress, and I had this insanely crazy customer at work one time. So it was the dinner rush, so it was super busy, and we were training a new person for the dishwasher. I had a table with a lady and her daughter. The daughter got chicken fingers and Caesar salad, and the lady just got a small Caesar salad. Anyways, we ran out of bowls for the kids Caesar salad, so we used another tiny sort of container. Apparently it wasn’t tiny enough because when I went to do my second check on how their meal was going she was enraged that her kids Caesar salad was the same size as hers(Keep in mind I had already asked them to how things were going before, and they were fine! ). Either way, she was not getting shafted at all, she literally was getting extra food!! Somehow that made her enraged, so I brought my manager over to the table because I could tell she was going to start a scene. Everything seemed to be going good for a while until this lady demanded she get a discount on her meals. For what though?? So my manager obviously told her no, and that’s when she started screaming. The whole restaurant went dead silent while this lady just yelled at my manager and I the whole time.. To make things even worse, after both of their meals were basically all finished, after she stopped screaming at us, she was just like “you know what this is complete bs, I’m never coming back here again!” AND LITERALLY JUST LEFT WITHOUT PAYING. I swear, some people will just do whatever they can to get free things 😒
    Sorry for being so scattered, I’m not very good at storytelling 😂😂

    I'm not even a hairstylist and I know from experience that it is terrible to bleach your hair all at once! I just don't understand why people think they can go from black to blonde in one bleach. I am about a level seven blonde and It's took me two sessions to get white/silver hair when I did it. I hear stories like this from hairstylist all the time and I think it is absolutely crazy that some people think they can do it in an hour lol when I was 18 I bleached my hair platinum blonde with level 40 developer and it fried my hair and my hair was breaking off. 10 years of experience later, I was able to bleach it even lighter and it was almost white, with toner it looked silver that faded to a white color. I did it much slower and obviously with a lower developer and my hair was still in fairly good shape considering how light it was. Maybe these people just need to experience a few hair fails so they can learn from experience and stop getting so pissed off at hairstylists that are just trying to do a good job and not fuck up their hair 😂

    • @thatcrazycatladyjulie344
      @thatcrazycatladyjulie344 7 лет назад +2

      Also I think something that these people don't think about is when your hair is that light it can start to look strange when you want to change it back to a more natural color. I'm sure that professional hair stylists would be able to do a better job than me. But I know that my hair color will look a little bit dull once I add color back to bleached hair. Even when I use a protein filler. Eventually as the hair holds on to some of that color, it will start to look better. But I had some issues with it looking strange at first and I had to play around with adding more red than I thought I needed to give it a little bit more life and not such a weird green tinge haha

    • @raven49235
      @raven49235 7 лет назад +3

      Julie Patterson - Or MAYBE more education is needed about HOW to do different procedures! There are color extractors, now (for example) . . . EXCELLENT ones that can take dark box-dyed color OUT of the hair and keep the integrity of the hair intact and in good shape. Bleaching (like you said, with lower developers and longer times!) CAN be applied in the same visit and STILL keep the hair in excellent shape . . . IF the Stylist has the KNOW HOW.
      It IS terrible to go from black to blonde IF one is just going to BLEACH the hair till it turns white. Yes, THAT would not be smart. But, if the Stylist KNOWS WHAT TO DO and has learned about the wonderful & correct products on the market today, it can, absolutely, be done safely!

      raveeeen aaagh. oxidative color remover is not some new thing. it MAY work for non granny hair end results but at best will get you to a funky orange situation that needs to be lifted and toned or colored darker, and it can RE-OXIDIZE if you color again the same day! odixative color removers ARE CHEMICALS and DO damage hair. the cuticle gets lifted to get to the inside of the hair shaft where color molecules are. that literally is the definition of chemical damage lmao. then you're asking to go over it again to get it white?! white is hard to get even on virgin hair. taking 10 volume developer on the hair 5 times in one day is still bleaching your hair 5 times in one day and not even the god of olaplex and b2 can save your ass. stylists arent here to take huge risks that could leave our reputations fucked, someones scalp bleeding, or someones head bald. we dont WANT to compromise your hair! also, we get inside scoop on products before they're even released so i'm not sure how you think we dont have the "know how." we are legally required to take salon education courses to renew our licenses(that take between 10 months and two years of school to get), and most salons will bring in instructors a few times a year to educate on new products and procedures. xD girl i'd love it if you went to cosmo school and started doing this. you really seem to have a passion with hair.

      @@raven49235 Thank you, someone needed to say this, this whole comment section is a creepy echo chamber. You can definitely get to blonde in one session, it's just that your average hairdresser has no clue how to do that. And if she doesn't know, then it's impossible and you are crazy for asking and she gets to foam at the mouth on youtube. So unseemly.

    Ooooh i had a reaction like that in my hair that my mom had never experienced in beauty school. Turns out our water had TONS of copper and other heavy minerals in it and it reacted badly to the bleach. From then on we had to use ultra clarifying Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3 or lemon and salt to get the copper residue out. Thankfully now they make filtering shower heads.

    A few years back I was working for Dots. They were going out of business, so you know... so many people. The whole store went to 80% off and two women began throwing items and trying to pull them from each others hands. I had to threaten to come over the counter. I kindly informed that I was from Detroit and I would come out there if I had too. Scary day, worst day in retail by far.

    that's crazy, but I'm not even surprised. These are unrealistic hair expectations when you have very dark hair. Definitely do more of these! Even the best/ most memorable experiences.

      Not always an unrealistic hair expectation! My stylist took MY hair from dark box dyed hair to blonde and kept the integrity of my hair in tact. It can be done if the Stylist knows what products to use and is well educated and experienced.
