My story is so embarrassing too. 😯😢😭😭😭😭😭
My first job was at Subway in hernderson, nevada. It was like my 3rd day. I remmember the store manager was so mean and i would always feel nervous working. She would embarrasse me infront of customers for giving wrong change. One time i cut myself cutitng the bread because she yelled at me. One day she was showing me to answer the phone. Before that i was talking to one of my coworkers. She was telling me how her second job was working at pizza hut. Anyways ,... when i was learning to answer the phone . The phone rang and i answered it and said nervously hi thank you for calling pizza hut how can i help you?? And all i remmember is that the person said i called the wrong number sorry. Later on i got in so much trouble because the person called again lol.

Once when I was a kid I was at McDonald's at the register ordering a chicken mcnugget happy meal (don't judge me) and the cashier asked, "What kind of sauce would you like?" and I don't know why but I said "Burger King" instead of "Barbecue". I was so embarrassed and I still remember it even though I was like 10 years old.

I still get mortified of this experience. I was working in the er of a hospital. I was telling a man that he was getting admitted into the hospital on another floor. And I was trying to make light of the situation and told him he was going to have his own private room, so that he could Rest In Peace. Him and his 8 or so family members eyes got so huge and they gasped. 😩🤣

At the last salon I assisted at I sat a client and got her a drink, and then walked her back to the shampoo bowls. While I was shampooing her she asked “How far along are you? I was not pregnant so I just asked her what she meant, hoping she’s get the hint. But she asked how far along I was again.. then she goes “you’re pregnant aren’t you?” I told her I wasn’t and she apologized a ton. Mind you I was wearing an oversized sweater buy nothing big enough to make me look pregnant😂 I told her there was another stylist who was 8 months pregnant and she goes “Oh yeah that’s the girl who brought me my drink!” But that was also me, lol sooooo embarrassing.

I am 16 years old and have been working as an assistant at a salon for about 9 months now. We have a lot of mother/daughter clients who typically come in together. A few weeks ago, right after NYE ,one of the daughters (around 30) came in without her mother. Since I’ve known the woman since I began working, I made a joke and said “We miss your mom today! Did she party too hard on New Years?” And it turned out her mother passed away and no one told me!! I was mortified; I apologised so many times. I felt awful the whole day.

i have a story that might be an embarrassing story for a stylist i spoke to years ago
i usually keep my hair dyed black, but sometimes i do dark red to change it up a little. i have pale skin, blue eyes. im alternative, so like, emo/goth style kinda.
a few years ago, i decided to go red again. i did some of the lightening process n then i was too lazy to finish it. so i thought, i have some extra cash lying around, lemme brainstorm with a professional and have them do the rest for me.
i go to a lady i never met before. i have minimal makeup on, im kinda bumming it with a big sweatshirt and leggings, and my hair is brown/orange/brassy. i tell her i lightened it a couple weeks ago, and i want dark red.
so we're going over colors. she points out these light, almost orange reds. i say, "no, i want dark red. i dont want hayley williams hair." i point to the reds i would like, again. im sitting there wondering why this woman is fighting me on this? its MY hair? im paying YOU? im not asking much. but shes downright fighting me as if im asking her to take me from black to white hair in one sitting.
the stylist finally says, with a very disgusted look, "listen, if i do a dark red on you.. youll look a little.... -whispers- gothic....." and she winces and shakes her head, "you know what im talking about... that look is ugly." my facial expression is straight up, bitch what did you just fucking say to me?
at that point i was annoyed beyond hell. i say, "hang on." i opened my phone and pulled up photos of me with my usual black hair, my makeup done (red/brown smoky eye, winged liner) and i ask, "you mean like this?"
she looked mortified. i was pissed. i kindly excused myself and she had the nerve to ask if i wanted to schedule for the coloring as i was walking away. i told her no and left.

"Oh, I'm not wearing any pants" 😂
I worked at a jewelry store way back in the day. They were calling for a big snow storm, and we couldn't see outside from our location in the mall. We had a customer come in, and I noticed she had white stuff in her hair. So, pointing at her hair, I was like, "Oh, it started snowing already?" She was like, "Uh...no. Why?" Girl, I tripped over my words and slid down behind the counter just like you did! I wanted to DIE! 😳

This is back in my early hair stylist years too, I was working at a BoRics Hair Salon that was about to close. Anyways, I had cut an older gentleman’s hair and he liked the way I did it and asked me if I had a business card so he can follow me, of course I told him about the closing of the salon and how I am being transferred to a Smart Style Salon in Walmart and would give him information on that when we were done . He was fine with that so as we got to the receptionist desk, I rung him out and then as he was almost about to head out, I forgot to give him details on the new salon I will be at. He gave me his receipt to write it on, I put my name and the salons name down. And as I was finishing writing down the new salons number, I said out loud,” and here’s my number (meant to say the salons number)” JUST as his WIFE walks in through the entrance and looks at him in shock. The gentleman and I looked like deers in headlights. It was so fucking awkward so I had to break the silence while trying to throw in a chuckle to make it less weird and be like “ well I never thought I had to ever say this but, it’s not what it looks like” and the gentleman goes on (stuttering) on how this salon is closing and how he was trying to get information to follow me to the other salon. She didn’t say anything.
I never saw that guy again.

So I used to work in a very busy large scale salon as a shampoo assistant in an upscale part of town. One day I had taken a 10 year old boy to the shampoo area to wash his hair and his mom would not look away from her phone (so what I think was out of desperation for his mothers attention) as soon as I had the boy in the shampoo bowl he starts moaning loudly saying things like "oh yes! Oh yeah right there that feels so good!" (Which I think he meant in a massage type way but sounded like a sexual thing) In a completely full room with 20 shampoo bowls and a lot of stylists and clients. I threw my hands up into the air (I hadn't even turned the water on yet) and one of my coworkers said loud enough for other people to hear "I knew you liked them young but not THAT young" (which is funny now but at the time I wanted to die) and when I tried to get his mothers attention to ask her to I don't know "make him stop acting like this!" She wouldn't even look up from her phone. I never did shampoo the kid I got the hairstylist to do it and shortly there after I decided that this wasn't really what I wanted to do anymore and left the hair field. I can't say I wasn't a bit traumatized from the experience.

To make you feel better here’s my embarrassing story
I was 17 (I’m 24 almost 25 now) but I was working my first job at McDonald’s and I was working front counter
As most know McDonald’s is stingy AF and we charge 10 cents for extra sauces if you’ve already got the amount that it comes with
A woman and her two kids and husband asked for some and when I had said no worries they’re 10 cents how many did you need? She stormed off angry about how stupid it was we charged and went back to her table (or so I thought) and mind you the area SUPERVISOR was here doing the weekly inspection and I said to my store manager “ I don’t know why people get so mad you could find 10 cents on the floor” well apparently she heard me and my supervisor the one doing the inspection made me go apolagize lol
I was all upset and crying but it makes you learn quick! Funniest part of the story
Is I literally found 10 cents on the floor of the lobby on the way to her table

My first job was at a restaurant as a waitress. As a vegetarian when someone asked what I would recommend, I would recommend things I’ve eaten there, which were off the vegetarian/vegan menu.
An overweight woman was seated and asked what I would recommend, and I honestly answered “I just tried the veggie risotto yesterday and it was fantastic” and I opened that part of the menu. Awkwardly the vegetarian portion of the menu was listed as “healthy options” and she thought I was taking a stab at her for being overweight.
I just genuinely thought it was delicious. 😕

It reminds me when I was still a florist. On mother's day, a little boy with his dad come in to buy flowers. I give the bouquet to the kid with a smile and say : "I'm sure your mum will be super happy!" The dad gives me the nastiest look and answer harsly : "His mother is dead. It's for his grand-mother"
I had no way to know, but I still felt like shit for the rest of the day. I wanted to dig a hole and bury myself in it. Fortunately, the boy didn't seem to mind at all (maybe she passed when he was too young to remember) and kept smiling. I'm cringing just to think about it.

As in the worst written cheap tv show ever my embarrassing moment was in an elevator.
I'm an interpreter and import/export executive and at the time I was working for a fashion brand in Shanghai. My coworkers started to talking about this super mean supervisor coming from Beijing to Shanghai just to check on the line I was the "head" of at the moment, so I was scared of him, plus I was kind of new and the only "western" person working there, and I still was trying to "fit in".
Basically, I take the elevator with my coworkers after lunch break(the day right after the news of the guy coming started to spread around), and I keep talking about this guy as soon as we jump on the packed elevator because for the whole lunch he was the topic of conversation, and they would say soooo many mean thing, like he was bald, he had bad breath and he was very mean to girls and blablablah, so I say in mandarin outloud something that in english would sound like "I JUST HOPE THAT MR.ABCD WON'T COMMENT ANYTHING ON MY WEIGHT(I wasn't at all overweight but being italian my body is very different from the average chinese person and after two years of living there I know for a fact what the average person could consider "chubby" over there and me and my coworkers just finished saying how he comments on weight all the time- as many chinese people do, over there weight talking is not a taboo at all, but for who's not used to it it can be quite offensive at the beginning-), BECAUSE HE WOULD BE SENT RIGHT TO F@#* OFF!" it's not even my usual way of talking, especially in a working enviroment, but we were all young and I was trying to "fit-in" -.-
Everyone kept quiet. I turn around and I see a chubby bald head behind my coworker's shoulder, right there everybody went "HELLO MR.ABCD". . . . . . . . .I still have nightmares.

I used to work at a call center. A person calls and asks for assistance. The person had a really deep and husky voice so I assumed it was a man. Anyways, in order to help that person I needed their customer account. They give me their information and I see that the customer that this account belongs to is a lady. So I ask the person on the phone: "Okay, and who are you to (the ladie's name)? Are you the husband?" Silence. "Umm, no. I AM (the ladie's name)."

I would say that my most embarrassing work story happened at my first job. I was a cashier at an imports store. Everything was going well, I was having a great day...... blah blah blah. Then a lady and her son come up to the register. We had a quick conversation. She shared about how her son is starting college, and came in to get some things. Well I must have felt way to comfortable in that situation, because i leaned forward, put my hand out and pulled on a loose hanging piece of hair. It was at least 4-5 inches longer than her haircut. So it looked like it had shed, and I was going to be that one nice person to remove it for her. Yes, you guessed it. The hair was still attached to her scalp, and here I was pulling on it. OMG. I was mortified. The conversation stopped, I bagged their things as fast as i could and they left. This happened about 17-18 years ago,and I feel that I can still see the surprised look on her face when i yanked on her hair. Moral of the story, dont touch people!

I've been working at my retail job for over a year now, but during my second or third week there these two women came into the store; one looked really mature and the other looked young. I helped them both find outfits, talked to them, you know customer servicing. When it gets time for them to purchase their outfits the mature looking lady walks up first and puts her stuff down while the younger looking woman stays in line. So then I say "oh, you and your daughter aren't doing one transaction?" The lady at the register looks at me and says " that's my sister 😒" and when I tell you I wanted the floor to swallow me up!!! Like she laughed at it in the end but jfc. So now whenever a party of two or more walk in I refer to them all as "friends". Lol someone could walk in with their infant child but I'm gonna refer to the two of them as friends just to play it safe.

The most embarrassing thing I've ever done in the hair business made me look like a complete incompetent psycho lol. This little toddler was throwing the biggest fit screaming and wiggling around I mean it was insane, I was going as fast as I could trying to hold it together, well his mom asked me to wipe his face off because he was covered in hair, so I grab a towel and spray it with water and proceed to wipe off his face. Mom says "whoa , scissors!" I then realize I never put my scissors down and am wiping his face with the scissors pointing right at his face! I didn't even realize I was doing this, I literally could have stabbed that baby in the eye. Needless to say I felt like an incompetent monster. The mom tipped me $15 dollars tho! I did not feel like I deserved it.

*My first salon job was in a personally owned salon in my local mall, which wasn't all to bad, but the owner freaking scared me! I'm the kinda girl that's a lil more quiet and shy at first, but I don't ignore ppl nor do I come off as a biatch. The owner was the type that, if you were new and she didn't know you, she just acted very obviously FAKE and seemed like she could have had a pretty snappy prissy side!!!! She asked how comfortable i was doing foiled highlights and lowlights, and i was honest and told her I wasn't yet (bc that was something i needed to learn more about bc I just couldn't get it right yet). So a client comes in for that exact thing, and she immediately looked at me and told the lady I'd be her stylist! I said nothing bc i didn't want the client to fear her life lol! When i went in back to get supplies, I explained to the owner that I was extremely nervous and worried bc I seem to always mess them up! She just told me "you'll be alright", then gave me a fake, quick smile! Meanwhile, there are 3 other open chairs besides mine, but see, the other girls were there for a good while (btw, i got along with everyone stylist there amazingly) and we're close with her, and they don't do foils! I thought maybe she'd kinda help me through it, or something, but no! So i did them and it took a decent while, and guuueeessss what. ....???? The ladies hair was beautifully stripped all by her scalp from the Lightner bleeding at the top of the foils! Then guess what ...the owner walked over and SNAPPED out on me on front of the client! Literally talked to me like i was the dumbest person ever! I usually just get upset and cry and say nothing, and yeah i did tear up a lil bit but held back, but i made sure i explained back in front of the client bc i was so embarrassed, that i we had the conversation about me not knowing how completely yet and that I WAS told that if we weren't comfortable with color, we didn't have to do it, and we literally just talked about that before the client walked in! Yeah, i put in my two weeks shortly after that! Other workers there were awesome, and they kept telling me she'll warm up to me, but i don't like nasty ppl like that!*

I SO HAVE DONE THE LAST STORY! Totally had a girl who was about my age (24) come in for a haircut with a woman who looked about 20-25 years older. As I am doing her hair, I asked her "So is this your mom?" (she was sitting at the station next to me, talking to us) and the girl makes a face and I hear the girl at the booth next to me say "Umm, no?! She's my sister!". My face instantly heated up and I was at a loss for words cause I mean, how TF do you come back from that?! Lmao you could tell she was so annoyed and she stopped talking after that. I have two stories that taught me never to assume when it comes to customer service/dealing with other people.
So I'm currently a student at beauty school, and one day as I was walking my client up to the front desk after a wax appointment, we passed by a couple of my classmates and one of them yelled "Hey mommy!" so after they got done talking I asked my client if that was her daughter, now my client seemed like she was in her early 40s so I assumed she had her young, but my client gets all upset and tells me that that was actually her boss at her job. After she told me that I just went "Oh, what a small world!" and then went on to do the scripted goodbye we're all told we should end with and leave her with my instructor to check out while I go clean up. Later on my instructor came up to me and told me that the woman had ended up complaining about me, implying that I looked down on her because she had a 20 year old boss (which obviously wasn't the case, I don't judge people based on their job title) but while I had all the reasoning to assume they were related because my classmate had called her mom I learned that assuming is never a good idea.
Months before that incident, I had another wax ticket, and she wanted her brows waxed. No big deal, right? So I brushed her brows out after prepping them, and I noticed one of them had a bald spot in the middle of it. I took note of it, to be a little lighter on that brow, but I never mentioned it to her because I assumed she knew about it since I also have a bald spot in my brow due to a scar. So I get this wax done without any problems, she said she was happy with them and I walked her up to the desk to check out. I leave her with the instructors so I can go clean up, and as I'm cleaning the wax room my instructor comes up to me and jokingly asks how I messed up her eyebrows like that. I asked her what she meant and she mentioned the bald spot in the middle; this lady said I took a chunk of her brow out, and my instructors were all super confused as to how I could have managed to take out a perfect spot in the middle of her brow without taking out the hair around the spot. I'm mortified and explain that she had a bald spot and I never mentioned it because I thought she knew. Luckily my instructors had figured this might've been the case and told the client that was probably what happened. They all joked with me saying that next time I need to draw a big arrow and point out any bald spots clients may have prior to a wax.
Needless to say, I'm hesitant to take waxes at school now lmao.

It was my second day on the (warehouse) job. My shift was 10 hrs. long with lots of bending, lifting, etc. So obviously I was trying to dress comfortably. On that day I decided to wear a trusty pair of worn-in jeans and a button down shirt that allowed for good movement (I'm not busty so these have worked in the past).
I was either heading to my first break or lunch and I thought the day was going pretty swell, what with it being my second day and all. So I'm heading to the break room with a guy who had started the same day, making small talk and all that jazz. As we're walking I hear buzzing/voices in the background. I turn around and I see this 6-foot-huge man walking towards me and he leans in/down and quietly says to me, "Miss, I just wanted to let you know that your blouse is unbuttoned... something, something, something". I kind of blanked a little after he said *blouse.unbuttoned*. I looked down and sure enough, the buttons had come undone in the bosom area. Of course, I had decided to wear my most comfortable bra that day as well- it was neon/high-lighter yellow and my shirt was black so the color really popped! After I looked down, I remember commenting to the man that this was quite embarrassing but I also thanked him for giving me the heads-up. I have no idea how long my blouse had been undone/how many people saw and didn't say anything. I later found out that the man who had given me the heads-up was a manager of the department I worked in- what a great first impression, right!?
All in all, I laugh about it now and I realize it wasn't that bad. But in that moment it was mortifying because it was only my second day on the job (really, it was my first full day of actual work) and that was not the first impression I wanted to make on my co-workers, y'know? Haha... sorry for the long post!

There's honestly too many embarrassing stories to tell, but one that happened back in school (we were 14 or something) was that our class did a Secret Santa and I was super proud of the gift I got, because it was a relatively funny gift for the "class clown", so I'm just really loudly talking to my friends about how great my gift is and how boring it is to just give mugs and chocolates to people. Right after I say that I look into my friends' faces and can tell I said something stupid, I'm just not sure what it was yet. I also remember seeing the top of the present of one of my friends in their bag. After recess we receive our presents and turns out that I get that friend's gift. Turns out that it IS a mug, chocolates and another small gift. I felt so so bad, I didn't mean it that way!!! I was just happy that I got someone such a fitting gift.

My co-worker apologized and ran out. Another story, the collections lady at our accounting department called a client to ask for payment, a man answer`s the phone and my co-worker asks to speak to this lady, the man say`s she`s not home and asked if he could take a message for her. My co-worker say`s yes can you please tell her that and say`s the name of the law firm and that she has an outstanding invoice from her divorce lawyer. Than my co-worker say`s who am I speaking to? He say`s her husband, it turned out he had no idea she was filing for a divorce. My co-worker thought she was going to get fired on the spot. The divorce lawyer was very upset when she found out what had happened, but also kind to my co-worker, she did not lose her job.

I started my first job at goodwill about eight months ago and I was first put in charge of organizing the clothes and stuff. It wasnt until about a month or two that I got trained to be a cashier. I was one of the few people who also spoke spanish (by the time the time I was trained, three of the other spanish speakers had quit so they were desperate lol) anyways, Im a little insecure about how I speak spanish bc its my second language and I have an american accent that makes me sound pathetic sometimes lol but I was getting better and doing register talk like tell them the total, if they a rewards card etc but on this day we had two four foot Anna and Elsa dolls from frozen behind the counter. A lady asked me in spanish how much they were and I answered back in spanish and told her $30 bc they were still in the box and retailed for like $100 in regular stores. For some reason I was feeling confident and trued to tell her that a customer before her had asked about the dolls and was so shocked that they were 30 a piece and so we put them behind the register so no one takes the tags off and tries to get them for cheaper. However, it did not come out that was. I was trying to speak fast bc I had a line and it came out as a bunch of jumbled up consonants. I was hoping she didnt notice bc she was looking thru her purse but then she stopped, look up at me and asked what the fuck did I say and I was so mortified. So much for small talk lmaoo

The fact that you're so super embarrassed about the last one also means that you are a genuinely nice person who doesn't want to hurt people. You learned from your experience which means you can forgive yourself :)

one of my embarrassing stories (I'm a mobile dog groomer)... I had a male client come to the door without any clothes on holding the tiny dog. He has brain cancer so I just figured it was a health problem. Seems it was since it has not happened again since then and he is still with us. But it really freaked me out.

I use to be a host at olive garden when I was in college. They changed our uniforms to all black we could wear work appropriate clothes that was all black. So I was were black pants, black t shirt with a cute flowy black cardigan as I was sitting this couple the lady goes "Oh when are you due?" And I was like "excuse me?" Like I didn't hear her.. She said "when is your babies due date?" I was like "Well I'm not pregnant." And she was Like "then why are you wear a maternity cardigan?"
I was 5 foot and 120 pounds at the time. I went up to the host stand and asked my friend if I looked pregnant 😂 I was so mortified. That happened again to me wearing it again while I was holding my coat in front of me with my arms crossed, I was at a store and was asked by an employee. After the 2nd time I threw the cardigan away hahaha

I was working retail and I had a customer who would ask a ton of questions about a specialty item, even would go so far as to have us call other locations to see if they had the color/size she wanted, or even just to ask about their stock, and then she'd "want to think about it," and would never end up buying. It was a little annoying, but this location was slow, so at least pretending to sell her something for 30 minutes helped to pass the time. Well, finally, the day came where she actually wanted to purchase this item. We had a certain color/size brought over for her from a different location, and we were all ready to go. Our loyalty program gave customers a small discount on their purchases, which she received, but when it came to pay, she blatantly asked me for an additional discount. I told her I wasn't authorized to give a discount for no reason, and that there were currently no promos going on for this specific product. She paid, she left -- finally I closed the sale! After that, I very loudly vented to my co-worker about how this lady continued to ask for discounts, and how could someone be so cheap, etc. Welp, turned out she hadn't left. She went BACK up to the 2nd floor to continue looking at this product. LOL. As I was venting, she was coming down the stairs behind me and my co worker had to tell me. So she probably heard me. I was so embarrassed, I went and hid in the bathroom until enough time had passed to where I was certain she had left. When I came out, she was WAITING FOR ME, and I figured the only thing I could really do was apologize. I went up to her, and she just asked me more questions about this product I sold her!! And that was it. So, it seemed like she hadn't heard me?? But I was being SO LOUD I can't imagine there's any way she couldn't have heard. Ugh, it still makes me cringe sooooo baaaaaaddddddddd to this day!!

I wanna know why the manager said the lady canceled, but didn't automatically say "she's here though" lol.
Ok I have a work story. This was like ten years ago and was a manager at a fast food place. I was really tired from working a long shift, and I was dealing with a guy at the window. He was very obviously flirting with me but I was just being nice back to him, he said "oh my gosh every time I come you're here. Are you just here all the time?" and I was so freaking tired I just blurted out "I'm only here when you're here" haha but it came out like I was flirting back with him even though I didn't mean it like that. I was embarrassed but I was also cracking up about it when I told my employees the story lol

ohhh i have a few from my assisting days lol like one time this lady was getting a loreal botox thing done and we put like a hot cap on it and instead of waiting 20 minutes i went and tried to wash it off after the hot cap got cold because few days prior i was doing a deep conditioning thing on another client but i had to wash it off after the cap cooled down and my mentor almost dropped his coffee cus it was his client and like WHAT ARE YOU DOOOIINGG lol so we had to reapply :/
then i had another situation where i thought he was done with colouring beause he walked away for something and i just casually took his bowl and he came towards me,took the bowl from me and said:are you stupid? and went back. it was funny.
and then many times where i showed my attitude when not appropriate. I interned at this one salon that had no costumers what so ever and it was my school week so that saturday i didnt have to be at work but my boss texts me on friday like:can you come in tomorrow to help and i was like" is there gonna be any work because i dont wanna sit for 7 hours" i got shitfaced the week after, she called me out and said i had no respect, but to this day i believe they had like 2 people that saturday lol
and manyy moree but this is enough.

    Hahahaaa loved your stories.
My most embarassing story is the following: I was working at an office as a pr assistant and I had to take phone calls when my bosses assistant wasn‘t there.
One time I was on the phone with someone and I had to coordinate an appointment/ set up a meeting for my boss and this person. The whole time I tried to be extra friendly to the person I was talking to. When we finally figured out a Date and time for the Meeting I asked: „alright Mr. L. you will be meeting Mr. M. on ... at... „
The person on the phone: „Mrs. L. „
Me: „oh Mrs. L. I am so sorry but your voice sounds so manly“
... Aaaand I wished the ground would open and swallowed me up 🙈🙈🙈

I have two good ones for you!
one time I was in a shop working and these two ladies came in one very obviously older and looked like her mother. So I said isn't it nice having a shopping date with your mum... turns out they were sisters.
Second one was I was in a dress shop and my mother asked how far along pregnancy was of the shop assistant...was turns out she wasn't pregnant and she got upset.. so my mum bought an $800 dress .... but!!!! Then again apparently the lady had given birth TWO WEEKS earlier and was just upset her body didnt bounce back!

I know this video is a million years old, but I just happened upon it and want to give a word of advice from my work experience.
NEVER assume someone's baby's gender! When I started at my currently place of work, (big tourist/family attraction in our city), I made the mistake of saying he/she a couple of times about a baby and got it wrong. A lot of people will kindly correct you, but one woman, who had her baby son in a flowery pink coat and light yellow hat, snapped at me because I ignorantly assumed he was a girl during a polite conversation. Never again. Now I just call them, "Your little one."
*"Would your little one like some help with that?"*
*"You might want to help your little one with (activity)"*
Or you simply ask for their name if you're working directly with them. Sometimes that answers the question.
    👍

I used to work at Caribou coffee (midwest chain store) and then moved to the south and worked at Starbucks. I frequently worked at the drive-through and accidentally said many times "hello welcome to caribou coffee." The customers would be so confused, I would quickly apologize though. It was all fun and I never got in trouble, at least with that situation ;).

One time I was dealing with what I thought was a mother and daughter, the "mom" was this very fit, attractive woman in her mid to late 40's and who I thought was her "daughter" was this equally gorgeous young 20 year old girl, and I almost asked if they were related when they suddenly kissed. I struggled to put my pokerface on for a second cause I was just so genuinely surprised lmao, first time I had encountered a lesbian cougar/cub couple.

I had just started working in the post office and was scrolling through a big book looking for a postal code (zip code) for someone. There was a big line and I was getting more and more frustrated by how long it was taking, so I said to the customer.. "So apparently I'm blind. Can you see it?" We eventually found it, the guy walks away and the next person comes up to the counter. He was blind and completly offended! Turned out he was a regular customer so I would see him often. He hated me right up until the day I left that job.

I love your stories! 💕 It reminds me one of my embarrassing stories... I was working at the clothes shop. One day, the pregnant lady came in, chosing clothes to try, chatting with me etc... After she went out from changing room, we chatted again. And me, trying to be polite and concern about her state, asked her: When is your due time? She said: What? At that moment I realized she is not pregnant... She told me she knows how she looks like but she cannot lose her belly after last pregnancy. I wanted to go under the ground and never ever meet this lady again!!! So I feel you, girl 😳
