Thanks for this video about removing and installing new Upper and Lower Control arms. The information I learned from this video has helped me learn how to change out the control arms on my project car that I'm working on.

Nice job but your coil spring is upside down that rubber garment on top goes to the top

Thank you. I sold the truck so I can't correct the situation now.

Can I just remove the lower control arm bolts and leave everything else connected so I can get access to the engine mount nuts that are under the frame?

You would have to remove the shock and spring as well. Use a jack under the lower control arm as your taking it off to release tension from the spring.

I suspect yes but reinstalling the bolts will be a bear. Be sure to have jack stands under the frame so the vehicle does not fall on you.

Do you know how many shims are supposed to be on each of the upper control arm bolts?

No. I suspect it varies by vehicle. If you take it to be aligned when you are done, the shop will add shims if they are needed.

@@OldGuyDIY Ok thanks. I didn't know they were that easy to add.

You are welcome. They have a bucket of shims at alignment places and simply grab the ones the computer tells them they need.
