Superb video as per usual. Flew in there a number of times in the 90s in a Harvard, a Staggerwing and a Super Cub (didnt have a tarmac runway then). Company I worked for held 2 airshows there. Runway length was a little tight for a Spitfire, but fine for a Mustang. Remember the pub too, well do now, as had to stay over one night after having far too much to drink and then didnt remember a thing! Watching that brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for posting!
I went there many years ago, probably when it had a grass strip. They had an airshow there which was organised by Intrepid Aviation, who were based at North Weald and looked after Dave Gilmour's (of Pink Floyd) aircraft.
@@Dreamsofwings It was pretty good I seem to remember. I know there was a team of Yak 52s but I can't remember what else displayed. I used to pass the airfield fairly often as it was on the way to my sister.
Great Video .... awesome job with that landing. It's funny how the combination of the Pylons, Hedges and deceptive appearance of the runway make for a challenging approach.
Great video, I visited here in the 1990's when they used to have a small airshow on. I remember Eddie Coventry's Spitfire taking off from Thurrock and dog fighting with BF109 Black 6 in from Duxford flown by Charlie Brown, good days! I hope Burning Blue Designs develop North Weald Airfield at some stage.
Amazing video and flight as always. Would you ever be interested in doing some flying around the Caribbean? It looks quite amazing after World update 16.
I Downloaded Thurrock from xbox Marketplace. Now i have the default scenery yet after installing and the airport shows me not a star marking like others ? What is wrong ?
I wonder if Burning Blue Design will ever develop an airfield that's *NOT* in the south of England. Come on, there's no courage or innovation any more. What about classic fields like Sherburn-in Elmet? Fishburn in County Durham (GA airfield of the year 2015, 16, 17). But no, it's always "in the London Commuter belt", or the south coast.
That is something they are working to resolve I believe but main issue is both devs live in the south with separate day jobs and as airfield survey visits are a key part if what they do it does make it harder to cover further away.
Nice airport as usual by BBD. A shame that England is almost flat. I only miss a couple of recent ones ( but I will buy them in the future) despite the fact that I live in Switzerland where nothing is flat. English airports are so nice with their vintage look! Nothing to do with the huge and annoyng US ones that looks all the same. Well done BBD. Hope to see also airports a little more to the north, not only in the south. Even an airport on the isle of Man would be ok...
