      @@somedayzo6 If you have a jack plate drop it low about 1-2 inches from the bottom. Then trim the motor up to lift the nose of the boat up. You may need a good hrydro foil like the sea ray. I lift my bw2200's nose up and ease in them. If you're ridding flat on plane your nose will drop in the water like most of these idiots

      Just because you can afford one does not automatically mean you should have one. Sea states can and do change dramatically and most people who ride in a boat have no concept of how that boat will behave based on tide and wind.

    A Good Captain assumes the responsibility of safe passage for the crew and passingers. A full brief on safety, condition's you are about to incounter and emergency procedures is paramount to anyone going out on the water. A Professional Captain would not let passengers ride in the bow and injur them. More money than brains a scary combination. Thank you to all who keep it safe on the water.

    The Vandutch h hull is classic. That drop nose bow adds massive bow buoyancy. Its pretty good for boats you want to ride like a doser but id avoid it for boats built light for skimming. Id probably built one for Hawaii fishing to see how it did but ultimately, the Radon seems to be the best out here for bow cabs . The Radon has a skim boat bottom for going fast but a huge , wide doser front for slow. The ride is always smoothe and doesn't rock when sitting. For large stern fishing boats ,they need massive bow buoyancy. Your video show boats with dipped bow , skim tapered bottom and open bow full of people. That kind of boat will take on water turning on its own wake. Going through that inlet , wrong boat and with captains filling the boat with the bow full of people is a sign, not everyone should be allowed to vote. LoL 😂

    When I was growing up in New Jersey, a rite of passage was a trip to Action Park in Vernon Township. For those who have not heard, this was a very large waterpark (with a few other attractions) where every slide was designed by literal amateurs. Safety wasn't just a secondary consideration, it wasn't a consideration at all. "Traction Park" and "Fracture Park" were just two of the nicknames for the place, but it never kept anyone away. It was a point of pride just to survive the place more or less unscathed. I did. Several times. (I did get there the year they opened the infamous looping waterslide, but it was too hazardous even for them, and they shut it down just a couple of weeks into the season, before I managed to make the trip.)
    I would guess that riding the bow through Haulover with a marginal captain at the helm has a similar allure.

    • @TehButterflyEffect
      @TehButterflyEffect 3 месяца назад +1

      You know the reason that looping waterslide got shut down was because the first guy to go through it didn't actually make it through and drowned, right? I think that slide killed 2-3 people before they shut it down.
      I've read about that waterpark. The entire thing was a disaster.

    I have asked this question before, but don't get any answers. Why do skippers just about always go straight out through the center of this inlet. This is always the roughest area, less wave action down the sides and a lot calmer to the left as they past the end of the rock.
    Checkout what I mean, 2 small boats at 3:00 and 7:50 marks do exactly this, maybe small boat skippers have more brains.

    6:50 - Can anyone explain to me why a lot of these fishing boats have a single fly bridge like this, really high up, one seat only? I know many of them have controls up there so the boat can be sailed from that seat, but it LOOKS like captaining from up there would be so unsteady, like you’d be thrown right off with even a small turn, balance completely thrown out of whack? Is it purely for the view, so a captain can see fish from a higher standpoint? And would that make any difference? You may see the odd fish from there but they don’t stay in one place, by the time you steer the boat there… fish have moved away or gone deeper? Ya… I am NOT a fisherman at all and my boating experience is limited to 4 years owning a 28 ft sailboat (one season), and a SeaRay 340. I am FAR from an experienced captain. These super high fly bridges have always confused me… I don’t think I would ever want to be up there. 🤠👍🏼☮️
