Me: "I consider myself to be a member of humanity before everything else. Can you please give an example of what you're talking about?"

I proceeded to get verbally attacked and called a bunch of names by multiple people on the page.
To attempt to engage in a discussion with a SJW to better understand what they are proposing about a particular issue, in any manner that is short of immediately and fully agreeing with them, is to condemn yourself into the most vile mental category in their mind. Your words which may be intended to bridge any gaps in understanding are violence to them. These people are often not a part of the groups they are attempting to defend and probably discredit them as well to some people, which is actually really sad and damaging.

He was stating that this short film is basically the 21st century's version of George Orwell's 1984, a fictional novel published in 1949 based around a dystopian future where a government lead by "Big Brother" has taken control and treats independent thinking and individualism as a heinous crime. Through extreme propaganda - even going to the lengths of rewriting all historical documents to erase any sign of the government lying - and persecution of those who disagree, "Big Brother" has created a future where he has complete power, controls all thought, and the people believe it to be a true utopia.
If you're interested in other stories like this, I'd also recommend Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, a similar novel about a future where books are illegal and burned constantly, and all thought is controlled by the government through required "happy pills" that remove anti-government thoughts and the lack of books to challenge the government.
