    I really appreciate your videos! You brake down the techniques focusing on just enough details and in the meantime you don't overcomplicate things. The positive vibes are just a bonus.😊 Keep up the good work!

    What a fun video -- honest, vulnerable, and a delight to watch. It's always fun to see people liking similar things, so it was great to hear that you two love cooking and hiking -- Rebecca and myself are obviously huge nature lovers, and wanna-be foodies =)
    Loved the awareness that it's so easy to troll comments. It's a figment of our current culture, that we have this ability to attack people from the perfect safety of our couches and keyboards. It can't be a fun place to be, sitting on a couch and striking out when we know, inside, that we're only brave enough to type those words when we're protected by the anonymity of the web. That behavior gives us superficial feelings of power, but down inside, we know that we're being ruled by fear. Sometimes it's been fun to try to turn initial "trolls" into longtime subscribers and commenters, just by using some verbal BJJ and turning their expectations on their heads, lol! One can see it as a little BJJ match right here in the comments -- not to try to "win", but to try to get them to become more interested in our videos, which in its own way, is indeed a win for us!
    Thanks for continuing to put out great content and spreading this great skill of BJJ around the world, you two!
    =) Kenton

      We are glad you enjoyed getting to know us a bit. You are very right. People who comment negatively are either really unhappy or just jealous. And either way of living is sad. I’m really working hard to give the haters zero energy and allow them to wallow in their own emptiness. Thanks again. Happy to hear from you.

    Thanks for the Q&A guys. You both seem like genuine, down to earth, good people. Love the content and format, don’t change a thing.
    That’s cool that you bow hunt. I haven’t much lately due to lack of access, but I hunt with a longbow. I started on a compound, but took off the training wheels and went traditional, ha ha!
    I live in Tennessee, beautiful state, if you like hiking and outdoors I’d recommend visiting here also.
    Have you guys ever thought about doing some fitness content? Could be geared towards jiu jitsu, general health, longevity.
    Regarding the haters and just dealing with people in general, I couldn’t help but think about a book I read by Ryan Holiday, The Daily Stoic. I love stoic philosophy and I truly believe it has helped me in my life and I can’t recommend it enough.

      I used to shoot longbows when I was young. I just love having a 70 lbs pull that I don’t feel and can trust a 40 yard shot. I would hate to make a bad shot because I am shaking. But it happens. We have not talked much about fitness content. That may be something we can put some energy towards. It’s hard with how little time we have already. But we will certainly think about it. I do love the stories and their teachings. I could use a bit more discipline with my emotions when it comes to haters. Thanks for the kind words and for the conversation.

      @@nexusjiujitsu I get the trusting your shot, no ethical hunter wants to make a bad shot. The goal and challenge of hunting with a trad bow is to get as close as possible to your quarry. Lots of failures, but no bad shots. Last deer I killed was about 5 yards away, on the ground. Keep it up man!

    Nice vid, guys! Cool to think I’ve known you since you were a purple belt, which I am now! When you want recommendations for East coast travel let me know. I grew up near Philly and there’s so much history relevant to the founding of the USA in that region. I can also point you to what I believe is some of the most beautiful countryside on the planet. The sound is really great! I love how I've somehow become the official sound guy LOL. Also you had the name right the first time "Tay - gah - shee" way to go!
    Thanks for answering my question! It's funny cause I first came across MMA in a blockbuster too! My background is TKD so UFC/Pride videos introduced me to the ground game and I got into Army Combatives when I was active duty. Now I mainly live vicariously through my 14 year old son who has recently gotten into Jiu Jitsu. Which is why I watch yall's channel, so I can share with him and teach him. Yall's content is so well put together and the instruction is top notch. Especially since it's just the two of you with a tripod, you can't ask for better content (that could be taken out of context I realize after typing it, oh well). Yall are the real ones, keep doing what your doing!
    Agy - So you are originally from Poland?! That's awesome! Being a military brat, I was born in Germany and didn't step foot into the US (Huntsville, AL) until I was 8 - 9 years old. Culture shock for sure, was it that way for you?
    I live in East TN up in the Appalachia mountains (pronounced "Appa - la - CHA", locals will be quick to point you out as outsiders) and there is awesome hiking out here. Definitely a lot of rich history in the south - southeast region of the US. We recently took a long road trip out west up through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, then back through South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri to home. It's crazy how just in our own country how different each area is. Was a great experience and lesson for the kiddos.
    Yall are amazing and it was great getting to know yall! God bless and look forward to future content!

      Oh that’s awesome! So many questions. We are looking at a 20 acre property now. Plan to put a fabricated home on there. Has two wells and two 5 acre cross sectioned areas for livestock. I know nothing about livestock so it’s all going to be trial and error. Goats chickens pigs and maybe a couple of small cows

      From Agy- I was born in San Francisco. Moved to Poland when I was about two. Came back to the states at around 10 years old. Went back to Poland in my mid teens. Came back to finish my senior year in high school. Definitely culture shock was real. I didn’t know what language to speak. I felt kind of left out because the teachers didn’t help me much with the English. It was definitely hard. Hard to make friends and be confident to speak up. It was hard for such a young mind.

      @@nexusjiujitsu Close but no cigar. If you guys ever do a second video like this, how'd you come up with the the octopus mascot?

    • @nexusjiujitsu
      @nexusjiujitsu  10 месяцев назад +1

      We probably won’t do too many get to know us videos so I’ll just explain the octopus logo. We went through a few iterations of what my logo would be. I decided I want an octopus because when I grapple with someone it feels like I have way more limbs than them and I twist them up and wrap all around them and suffocate them. Also, I do mma and Muay Thai. Muay Thai is the art of 8 limbs, hands feet elbow and knees. So it fits perfectly into all of that. Also, octopi are just about the most fascinating damn creature out there.

    Interested to know why you went from strict vegan to carnivore.

    • @nexusjiujitsu
      @nexusjiujitsu  5 месяцев назад

      I went vegan because I wanted to keep my weight down for competition, for ethical reasons, for environmental reasons and for my health. Lots of different reasons. I did a lot of research and thought this was the most optimal way to live as a human. After 10 years I realized I was not feeling well. Wasn’t sleeping well. Wasn’t recovering well. Had no energy. My testosterone was low. All sorts of stuff. So I added back in meat here and there. Through the next two years I started feeling a bit better but I wasn’t getting in the kind of shape I wanted or feeling how I wanted. I saw lots of videos on carnivore. I saw lots of research on how good animal protein and fat is for us. So I decided to try it. One end of the spectrum to the other. I feel pretty damn good so far.
