Nexus Jiu Jitsu
США
Добавлен 23 июн 2020
Hey everyone! Welcome to our channel. Our names are Agy and Andrew. I have been doing jiu jitsu/wrestling for almost 20 years now. Muay Thai/MMA for over 15 years. I own a gym called Nexus Jiu Jitsu in Folsom, Ca. All I want to do on this channel is convey my thoughts and understanding of jiu jitsu and mma that I’ve learned and developed over the last two decades. I hope to help as many of you as I can with the finer intricacies of these arts. If you have any questions about techniques or motions you would like to see, throw it down in the comments. Thanks and I hope you enjoy. Remember, this is just a passion of mine. A life long dedication. I am not special. I am not the best. I just absolutely love jiu jitsu and have given my life to the art. Thanks

COUNTER BACK ATTACKS WITH SIMPLE SUBMISSIONS!
Are you tired of people taking your back and controlling you? Are you struggling to beat the legs when your teammates have your back? Are you out of options when it comes to escaping back position? Here are three fun options you can try that will add some depth to your back escapes/counter attacks. Because the legs are the primary source of control in back position, these three attacks will be leg lock options. They are extremely simple and basic. To the point that most people don’t see them as viable attack sequences. I disagree. The oldest trick in the book is the oldest because it works. These options work for submissions some of the time but there are reactions every time. Try these o...

HALF GUARD PASS YOU’VE NEVER SEEN! BEAT THE UNDER HOOK EASILY!
Просмотров 6 тыс.3 месяца назад
Ok, here’s the deal. You have to employ all of your limbs in your motions. You need to use your arms and legs independently towards the same goal, always. Generally, when we are grappling, there is a free limb somewhere in the chaos. Start learning to bring that limb into the fight. When you pass, use the free leg to pin, immobilize, push, pull, hook, extend or any other potential option there ...

If you follow these tech ideas and listen to the cues carefully you will have so much success from your back attacks from now on that jiu jitsu will see...

3 BEGINNER FRIENDLY TRIANGLE COMBOS!!!
Просмотров 7 тыс.4 месяца назад
As most of you know or will soon find out, singular attacks in jiu jitsu are rarely successful. Jiu jitsu is all about combinations, push-pull, tricks and sequences of motions. In this video I show three very simple combos to get to our triangle attacks. Considering strangles are effective against every human, whereas joint locks and sweeps can be a lot more difficult to pull off on certain ind...

Johnny Sins we know its you
been doing high elbow guillotine over 10 years, i dont do it from the turtle usually, i prefer to do it from bottom from some sort of butterfly or some sort of open guard, that way i have the hip/leg connection when i get the grip around the neck. that way its way harder to escape when my opponents hips cant get away as fast and effectively.
Catching it from the reverse kesa is nice! 🔥
I loved your channel already, now that I know you're a boxer fan, I can say with no doubt you're the best BJJ channel on YT. good luck to your boys!

Awesome! So glad you liked it
Thank you for covering this. I play this pass but generally have been having issues with bottom being able to overhook my underhook arm as they get on their side preemptively, I end up getting caught up with my underhook. I've made some adjustments like the underhook with palm down and wide, and really getting torso ear to ear and chest on their inside bicep. I think I could use a bit more of the sprawling to pin their inner thigh immobilizing their hip from being able to turn to their side. I haven't played the pass to the underhook side (when bottom gets a underhook /dog fight) in the 2nd half of this video. Makes sense to kill their underhook side and keep em flat. Will try that out!! Thanks.!
@@sedul2006 awesome! Yea, as this game has evolved it seems like the under hook from the top person on the far side is less and less effective. I offer a lot of people the under hook when I’m bottom half because I have so many traps and sweeps from there. Near side under hook is so much better in my opinion. But we still need to kill their ability to build up to dog fight either at the hip or shoulder level. I hope this motion helps you in the future. Thanks for your message.
Thanks for the instructional video. Do yall ever post rolls?
@@NoName-qe1wk a few videos back we did a fun little roll together. And I periodically post rolls of my students or me rolling with some of my students.

Does that leg hook have a name the way a kosoto hook has? It's very interesting and deserves a name
Hmm… I am not sure that it has a name. I would suggest calling it an inverted turk would be proper. But other than that I am not sure.
@@nexusjiujitsu I've watched a LOT of guard passing videos and have never seen it before, kudos sir!
Yea it’s not the most commonly known or conventional passing method. But it works!
Great instructional as always. 🔥🔥
Thanks bro! I hope it’s helpful. What have you been working on lately in your game?
@@nexusjiujitsu working on getting better at arm chokes, guillotines, darces and anacondas. But mostly trying to correct the 1 arm guillotines and improve the arm in version. Just watched one of your videos from months ago about the Craig Jones 1 arm guillotine, so will be working on it.
@@ZombieJitsu oh yea, the high hand guillotine is where it’s at! I love that one. I also have an anaconda/darce video a bit more recently than the guillotine one. Some good info in there.
@@nexusjiujitsu sweet. I will check it out 🤙🏽
I learned this move from a very good instructor, Sloan Clymer some time back. Its hard to stop as you said, that weight pins the person in place until you want to move off of him. I like your content, Thank you for posting!
That’s awesome! I learned it from Paul Schreiner. A gnarly Marcelo Garcia black belt. I really like these types of motions. We are happy you like our content. Thank you
it is intristing, i am going to add it to my game, thanks you
It’s definitely different. Unconventional. But so effective. Try it a lot of times because you will make mistakes and learn how it works better in certain circumstances. Let me know how it goes
Love it. You guys are doing things right.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
I’ve watched this dozens in times, I watch hundreds of yt tutorials each week sometimes each day. This might be the single best jujitsu tutorial video on the internet. This is the video I’ll be giving to friends who I bring to the gym who don’t know where to start and just need an offense goal. I’ll also be sending it to my purple belt friends who are getting choked by the newbs I bring that have watched this video😁

Looked like you had a sick pony tail there for a minute, coach (7:30). Awesome tech, gonna try it at training tonight
Haha! Man I look good with hair!!
This is the most technical breakdown of the rear triangle I have ever seen. It's one of my favorite subs and I've probably watched every youtube video about it. Incredible, thanks so much!!
@@greenflare3125 thanks so much! I am glad you liked it. The rear triangle is definitely one of my most favorite attacks. I’m trying to catch it in an mma fight! That would make my life
Great video as always. I like the input of sitting up for the armbar and using your leg to do it. And controlling the arm in a reverse Americana style. Def doing it next roll. 🔥🔥
@@ZombieJitsu yea man, trying to hit the arm bar while laying on your back just isn’t powerful. I call it a joystick arm bar when your hands are far from your chest while you’re trying to control an arm. Connect your hands to your chest, compress their arm to your body and use your strongest body parts to apply the arm bar.

Good video mate. - Australia 👍🏾
Glad you liked it!
when is it a good idea to do the rear arm & neck chock/routolotine?
There are lots of situations where I will play that option. When someone is in turtle. When they are attempting to go to turtle when I’m on the under hook side. When we are double seated in a backside seated head and arm. Lots of times to use that motion.
Thank you Andrew! Great video!
Thanks very much. We are glad you enjoyed it
Great stuff as usual. Thanks especially for the head between their head and the mat detail and how it helps get the submission later down the line!
No doubt. In most positions there are make or break aspects of the motion. Head position from the under hook side is one of those make or break aspects. Fix that and your control goes through the roof
