Makes me proud to be a stoneworker from Indiana. Started out running a crane. Moved up to the saw. Currently learning the planer. It's an industry i love. And will never do another job if I can.

Thanks for the tour! This information will come in handy when we get to some of the bigger stones on our castle restoration.

Really enjoyed the video. The Bedford cemetery has many unique headstones produced over the years by local stone carvers and one is for a stone carver representing his stone carving bench and tools. The Bedford North Lawrence High School about 30 miles south of Bloomington offers stone carving as one of the art classes. We lived in the area during the 80's.

Wow, good to know, thanks Mike, and thanks for watching and commenting. It's really refreshing to hear that a high school is teaching youngsters how to work with their hands and their minds.

What a great tour, thank you! I remember the gang saws in Breaking Away; one of my favorite movies. It was as close to a limestone quarry as I have ever been able to get aside from also on RUclips now. I wonder what steel type Jake uses. I can see the brass color brazing when you show some of the tools on the shelf. Many thanks to Mr. Bybee too!

thanks I'm not sure what he uses, I would imagine its a specified grade of steel, and welded carbide with brass.

Good Video Wayne. This is the first company that I have seen make heavy duty gouges that could handle lime and marble. I also notice they use an abundance of bronze when brazing their carbide. I suppose that is for sharpening purposes? Please explain? I just sent for their catalog.

I think it is because, the brass will run into the voids at low temps, it holds well and wont affect the temper of the blade.
