Right, that’s exactly the kind of negative magic that the concept is supposed to conjure, because really, the only demon there is your own belief in it.
That’s a really good explanation, because that’s exactly what I was thinking like “nah I’ll be fine” the second I look at the photo “oh… wait what if?”

It's true that if you stare at it for long enough you can see it when you close your eyes. Kind of like that image when you stare at the three dots in the middle for a minute, then when you look away to a white surface you can see Jesus
The water experiment has a pretty solid basis, honestly. It's perfectly acceptable that different qualities of water (river vs city vs dirty/clean or what have you) would make different ice forms and such. Y'know. Chemistry and the like. It just takes a very sharp turn at some point.

For anyone concerned about the term that he labels as a "cogninto hazard" at 16:40, here's a little note about that. Without mentioning what it is directly, it's basically one of those "curses" where once you see it/hear it, you are "cursed." While almost definitely harmless, (as there are plenty of spooky trolls like this such as those "send this to 5 more people or die" text chains) I figured I'd mention it since some people can get paranoid about that sort of thing.

Dude, that ‘infohazard’ image completely blindsided me. Never felt anything with various other rumoured infohazard/curse/etc. images or phrases, but that image spontaneously sent me into a genuine panic and nearly made me throw up. Not like I was on edge either, I was feeling pretty zen today. I try to balance an open mind with an avoidance of jumping to conclusions, but that was a powerful and very hard-to-ignore feeling.
Yea I didn't even consider skipping ahead, I saw that wierd thing and the beginning of the explanation, and was over come with HEAVY chills. I still don't know what the fuck that was even about because I skipped ahead. What the fuck. I'm not even particularly afraid of clowns.
Yeah I generally don't get too freaked out by cognitohazards or curses so I wasn't even considering skipping ahead. "How bad could it be?" was basically what I thought. The second I saw it I had to look away because of how badly it freaked me out, combined with the explanation.
I don't believe in cognitohazards, but the same way I don't believe in ghosts, there's always a persistent "what if" in the back of the mind We rationalize it's a silly concept, a demon stalks you for hearing a sentence or looking at an image, but that superstitious part of us persists with the "what if". That's the "demon". That uneasiness and nervousness you feel by thinking about it, by looking at the image, that's the demon itself. "It grows stronger and targets you the more you look at the image or hear the sentence", the demon isn't a supernatural being, the demon is the fear you feel of this concept being real, the demon is the "what if" that the dark corner of your brain keeps uttering. No demons are more haunting than the ones within
@@aswiftshift5229 bruh, "norm al" isn't even what you're told in school. I'm not here to argue, so do your research then have a healthy conversation with someone about these things.
So, here's the thing about Emoto's experiments: We have literally MILLIONS of man-hours spent researching ice, freezing, and the way composition of water affects the process. The reason the different waters had different "personalities" is because they had different compositions. The different minerals suspended in these waters greatly changes the way they freeze. I mean, it's literally what they do in Antarctica. At least the civilians.
This is exactly what I came to say....water containing different minerals and at differentiate elevation will likely form different crystalline structures
When he talked about waters from rivers freezing differently from waters in the city, I was like, well duh. Water frequently subjected to reverse osmosis and water from rain is going to be totally different.
He’s also a known con man who used bs methods to get the out come he wanted. This one is a sore spot for me because I got yelled at by an alt girl on Instagram that your feelings could change water and this is what she was referencing 🙃
I like how he’s like “Don’t like at the image in the corner.” Like, we’re gonna obviously look in the corner. And then he’s like “If your hear this phrase you’ll be possessed by a demon, so I’ll say it.”
Thank you Jesus for being greater than spooky images on the internet. Thank you, Jesus, for the entertaining Wendigoon:) “How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep! It was really dumb and fake sounding imo like "ooooh, if you see this you're cursed!" which anyone could just say about literally anything ever. Such bollocks.
Have you seen the legendary drawing of an air conditioner unit??? They say anyone who sees a hand drawn air conditioner unit is cursed by blgrubshnubgar, the 8th demon lord of the Plain of Torment and Suffering (aka 4th circle of hell) -- but only if you read this comment and therefore know of the curse in the first place. So yeah, from now on, you better not see a picture of a hand drawn air conditioning unit, or you're fucked and it will have been my fault, sorry. That's the logic of that theory.
The “original earth” theory has an even more fun version. Which is that the creation story in genesis wasn’t God creating the earth for the first time, but instead rebuilding it after the devastation caused by the angelic rebellion.
@@Jeffreydefinitelynotdahmer Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was without form and void...” There’s an alternate translation that comes out to, “and the Earth *had been made* formless and void...”
@@Jeffreydefinitelynotdahmer So with the alternate translation, Genesis 1:1-2 becomes: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. But the Earth had been made formless and void...” Which implies that something other than God’s will had ruined what he had created, and thus that makes the creation week a rebuilding of the earth, not the initial construction. And what event would be so powerful to destroy the initial Earth while also not being of God’s intended will? The angelic rebellion. Or perhaps it was caused by the sheer impact of Lucifer being thrown down from heaven after he lost the war against God.

"Original Earth" theory sounds like the 2002 movie "The Time Machine" where the protagonist gets knocked out, and accidentally travels to the year 802,701. It shows how society peaks, dies off, and "resets" back to primitive days
There was a Futurama episode with the same concept. They time travel so far forward that the heat death happens and a new big bang occurs with a similar reality just slightly to the left.
i feel like incognito-hazard was coined as means to transcend the screen in terms of online trolling, like it's meant to disturb you to a point of delusion and you start to manifest perceptions of the topic/object
It is. It's to prime superstitious conspiritards into being freaked out before they even witness the thing that's meant to freak them out. It's kind of genius actually.
I remember researching Dr. Emoto and his antics when I was a young lad; it was somewhat believable until I discovered he'd been taking water from polluted areas and comparing it to clean/filtered water. He stated that the different results were because of emotion which is why both test subjects froze differently, but didn't bother to use the same water for both tests. I will give him credit for one thing, and that's that freezing polluted water leads to impurities. Thanks, Dr. E.

Since Pi has (possibly) every number imaginable in its sequence - the despair code is somewhere in it too, meaning that when we reach it we won't be able to progress further or use Pi anymore, since knowledge of that part of Pi will kill us or make us severely depressed. Maybe if there's life on other planets and they have some type of despair code for them too, then this could also be a reason of why we can't contact anyone else? After progressing technology far enough they all die or stop functioning as normal living beings.
Not how Pi works. Just because it’s an infinite sequence of numbers does not mean every possible combination of numbers appears. That’s a misconception.
I honestly find some of these things very interesting. Like not in a "I actually believe it" kind of way more of a "these are really cool thought experiments/writing ideas". Like a lot of these concepts on the entirety of the iceburg can be really awesome ways to start having philosophical debates and discuss really deep theories on like humanity and the universe around us. If anything people can use these ideas as prompts to write some really kick ass and disturbing books/stories.

We rationalize it's a silly concept, a demon stalks you for hearing a sentence or looking at an image, but that superstitious part of us persists with the "what if".

The “original earth” theory has an even more fun version. Which is that the creation story in genesis wasn’t God creating the earth for the first time, but instead rebuilding it after the devastation caused by the angelic rebellion.

@@TheNightWatcher1385 wow
@@Jeffreydefinitelynotdahmer So with the alternate translation, Genesis 1:1-2 becomes:
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. But the Earth had been made formless and void...”
Which implies that something other than God’s will had ruined what he had created, and thus that makes the creation week a rebuilding of the earth, not the initial construction.
And what event would be so powerful to destroy the initial Earth while also not being of God’s intended will? The angelic rebellion. Or perhaps it was caused by the sheer impact of Lucifer being thrown down from heaven after he lost the war against God.

Someone once sent the solar plexus clown glider image to me with the caption "when kenzie doesnt take her meds" and now every time I see it Im reminded to take my meds so thank you for that
I don't know why, "Don't drink soy milk or Obama will buy your house," made me laugh like it did, but thanks for that.
I mean, how much is he paying for it? Is Obama gonna help me get on the property ladder if I drink nut juice?

The water experiments remind me of somethings did in 8th grade, we did a test where we’d insult an Apple in a jar, and compliment one in a jar, and the one that was being fed compliments rotted a lot less faster. The insulted one was starting to smell before we could finish the experiment
What? What kind of school do you go to? That's not a real experiment.

Crazy how this channel has grown so fast, I'm proud of him
Reading SCP articles nonstop has made me see that clown image as just a meme at this point. I both love and hate that it doesn't hurt me.
Bro
Its not hurting anybody lil bro ur not special
I've loved this entire series so much. Its lead to so many interesting conversations between my brilliant husband and I whenever I explained a theory I've heard. I cant wait to rewatch this whole thing again with him. By proxy through me he's a huge fan of your work, lol.
My husband and i were in the middle of a movie one night and i mentioned during a slow scene that some people believe Finland isn't real. He was so shocked that the movie was paused and we spent a good 30 mins discussing and researching online. I love this series for that reason. I have so much fun telling my husband the latest theory i found interesting. He still teases me about Finland months later lol.
This dude has grown so much I remember when he only had 50k and now he’s halfway to a million it’s cool to see a creator grow and I can’t wait to see you hit a million
something i love abt this series is that you actually do these conspiracies justice by explaining them properly, often times i just see other youtubers give wildly inaccurate or strawmanned descriptions of conspiracy theories and then call them dumb, i love the research you put into these videos
I’m watching this playlist straight through. It’s amazing watching you and your channel grow in this series. Literally just exploding with each episode.
I imagine after tier 10 is completed we can just make our minds exit reality.
after tier 10 we can go into creative mode
That phenomenon already exists! It's called reality shifting. I've been trying it for a few months and I've come really close to shifting to my desired reality. It might sound difficult to believe but there's a massive community behind reality shifting that has succeeded to shift realities :D

I remember seeing an iceberg image from 2016-2017 with the Despair Code at the bottom. Creator admitted he made it up just to sound spooky and the reddit comments created that theory for fun.
Yeah, we all know that the actual code is fun10 × int40 = Ir2
The Despair Code reminds me of a sci-fi short story I read a long time ago about Basilisk Images, and how the future internet went back to ASCII to prevent people from seeing them. Basically the premise was some images could kill you just by looking at it because there was a fractal design your brain could not process and caused kind of like a brain meltdown. According to the story, even the Mona Lisa had an area that if blown up contained one of these kiler designs. Cool but scary!
Sounds interesting, what’s it called?
@@NAND512 "BLIT" (acronym of Berryman Logical Image Technique) is a 1988 science fiction short story by the British writer David Langford.

@@TWBIAP technically us thinking about it could be/is the possession.
@@user-qo2jz4fb4w I've thought about that, but that would make it more of a memetic, and so far I don't think memetics are real, I've yet to see a truly effective one.
That being said I do think humans have a vast interlinked consciousness, so memetics in theory would work the same way as a haunted house, the more people believe in it, the worse it gets.
@Action 3 News. I got so hyped through the comments and as soon as I saw the Image I was disappointed
Listening to the despair code reminded me of this mission in cyberpunk where you watch these important figures slowly get their entire existence rewritten like a line of code to the point where they didn’t know who they were anymore and what memories or things were real and gave you this huge spiral of what was grounded in reality and what was all this setup to control someones identity. Crazzzyyyy stuff
I mean people love to trash on cyberpunk but I gotta say it's not that bad of a game
@@smauggerr despite the technical and some other stuff I think the quest writers really knew what they were doing, There’s a lot of beauty in the writing in the game that I think doesnt get enough spotlight. The actual artists and writers did killer work I don’t think should be taken for granted !

I mean at the start of the lockdown there was some evidence about nicotine helping not get bad cases of covid, all of the info was ignored really quick and people stopped talking about it tho and I haven't done much research into it
@@blank-mq8ef I remember hearing something about that actually
@@humptusdumptus4123 the way covid infects causes it to react with the same parts that nicotine does, so vaping, nicotine patches or smoking would prevent covid, issue with smoking to avoid covid is that if you get it it will be a much more dangerous case, a double edged sword if you will
Probably waved off because nicotine is an addictive substance and the benefits didn't outweigh the side effects. There are videos out there showing a guy smoking cigs dying a slow death. The guy documented himself smoking cig with more and more potency and quantity to the point of him dying of cancer. I can't find the channel but there a video on the channel called RUclips's Darkest Channels 3.
One of my favorite things about this series is actually how long it takes to put them together, so I have no problem rewatching previous videos to stay relevant to the topic.
