Dixie (a famous backpacking youtuber) stayed in a hostel on the Camino and got bedbugs. She kept getting bites even after leaving the hostel. She emptied her backpack and soaked it several times in hot water in a tub and saw the bedbugs rise up to the surface of the water. She washed and dried all her clothes and gear she could. Maybe try this as they could be in your gear and clothes.
Spooky, I was going to comment the same 😂😊
Another Option regarding Bed Bugs--- If you have access to a sauna on the trail, place all of your gear, including your backpack in the sauna for at least 90 minutes. As long as the sauna is 113°F or hotter, this can kill the bedbugs.
16 miles! You're starting to put down bigger miles,.. nice job!
16, awesome! Big miles and looking in fine form. Although I can’t imagine how painful and uncomfortable bed bug bites are. Hope you found a relief gel or something.
Just a tip- Check the beds and mattresses on all sides and under the bottom. They are visible to the naked eye. Adult bed bugs are usually brown in color. When filled with blood, their color ranges from red to dark brown. They are oval in shape and about the size of a flattened apple seed,. Check for rusty or reddish stains on bed sheets or mattresses caused by bed bugs being crushed or their poop.
What a day!
Congratulations on doing 16 miles! Enjoyed the views of the beautiful flowers. Sorry about the bed bug bites. If it's similar to what I experience with chigger bites, I'm sure the itching is making you miserable. Hope your feet felt better after a good night's sleep.
You can do hard things. 💪🏼
It’s was great to me you on trail, unfortunately I had to leave do to knee injury. I hope you make it all the way
If you have bed bugs you need to wash all your gear including your backpack and sleeping bag in hot water and hot drier. ( someone mentioned a sauna option. If that works it might be a good option. If you don’t get rid of them they will keep infecting you.
You had a lake full of wtr

Mithril or no mithril, I know you will still get to Mount Doom, err Katahdin.
Maybe if you run across Frodo you can talk him out of his mithrill shirt. In my opinion rattle snakes trump any bear as far as the bad boys of the AT.
We could hear it. Sounds like you've played a little D & D in your day.
If your bites are from bed bugs, you need to make sure they’re not in your pack. Bedbugs are travelers and they climb onto packs, luggage, anything they can find. All your clothes, quilts, etc. need to go into a very hot dryer. Be vigilant, because if one hostel has bedbugs, they will be hiking the AT with everyone who stayed there and will spreading wildly.
Random BUTT BUCKET 🪣 😅🤣🤣🤣🤣 that just made my hole day right there 🤣🤣
