Well right off the bat I'm glad to know your not stupid. Hiking 26 miles in one day is ridiculous frisrt off. I know I personally would not do that either. I mean to each there own. But not this guy and I'm glad you didn't do that either also im glad your listening to your body and if something doesn't feel right that yourwilling to stop and check it out. This right here is how people get hurt. By not listening to there gut instinct. And pushing thru which is also stupid. I'm glad to see you useing your head and being smart about all this. Definitely need to soak your feet in some HOT Epson salt 🧂 it would definitely help!!
I just want to say, " I feel ya!" As a fellow hiker that struggles with foot pain.... It is definitely different than the normal aches and pains that people can just push through. When every single step sends severe pain signals it's like torture! Slow back down, it's ok to listen to your body. 👏
Hang in there, Marissa! I’ve been enjoying following your journey. Listen to your body, get to Damascus, invest in some new shoes, take the rest you need, recharge, and then get after it. You’ve got this!
I gt the foot pain being debiliating because it is. I also get that whether you put pressure on yourself to hike bigger miles there is a deadline to meet. Granted you can turn this into a LASH and finish next year or whenever, so there's that. I'd look into new shoe, maybe something with a bigger toe box and a little larger than your current ones. Maybe some insoles and get a gait analysis too if you can. Someone speculated several videos ago that you supinate as you walk/hike and that might require a specific type of insole. I have faith that you can get it done. I've been following a bunch of thru hikers and as they've gotten trail legs and more confidence in themselves the results of that show in mileage and distance. Someone mentioned Molly and yeah, she's awesome and an experienced hiker and runner and crushed it from the start. But, you still have to do you and do the best you can.....every single day. Whether that is 5 miles or 20 or whatever you can crank out. You've pushed out 460 miles to this point....that nothing to poo poo or disparage.
Aww man, now I feel bad that I cheered on your 16 mile day from yesterday. Definitely listen to your body, the longer miles will come. Don't forget, Maryland and southern PA are easy sections too,.. so you might be in better condition to knock out big miles there.
Oh, Rissa, that sounds like a pretty miserable hike, what with walking in the lightning and also having your feet hurt. Hope you can get a better fitting shoe when you get to Damascus. I'm glad you got Trail magic TWO times! to offset the misery. Hope your feet recovered somewhat overnight. See you tomorrow.
Double trail magic trumps hiking up hill in thunderstorm, well at least that's what I would tell myself 😄⛈

Well Mosey, Wildflower Adventures just ended their hike, so it’s all about you girl! No pressure! 😂😂 You can do it!! 💪
Molly is still on hers. Ben and Alice also (as far as I know). They are good also!!
Ugh ya I was a little sad and disappointed when I saw their video this morning 😢
Xx, try not to compare yourself. You are out there pushing your body and that's impressive.

Bed bugs do not disappear. You need to take care of that issue before you go into a hostel or hotel.
Keep that pretty smile going!
Enjoying your hike have fun be careful 🙏😎 2:13
What is your necklace and where did you get it?
What shoes are you wearing and what size? That could be the culprit
Sounds like poison ivy / or oak.
Itch is intense ( I know !! ).
Best wishes.
Glad you don’t follow the ridiculous trends on the trail . HYOH
