- Hello there everybody, Bunneh here and welcome to a quick video where I give my very first impressions of ARK: Survival Ascended. It's unfortunate that so many people are experiencing terrible performance and framerate issues with this game at release, but hopefully that stuff will get ironed out very soon.

I think i will have to buy this, as an old ASE fan, this looks like a gaming wet dream hahaha
I might make a playthrough of some kind in the future, but for right now I'm going to stick with some more tutorial/information-based videos to help people out.
@BunnehGaming sounds great, I have been on the edge on weather or not to buy it "over again," but it looks so good. I don't think I can not buy it. I may wait a week or a few weeks and see if they can get some optimization done before I get on board. I have a decent pc, but nowhere near the beast of a rig you're running ;) so some optimizing would be good, and just general "first day/first week" updates and patches. Even with triple A titles these days, the first weeks can be pretty rough :/ Although giving you a head start will help me a lot with all my inevitable questions, silver lining ;)
@@thothtahuti5509 Yeah that's honestly not a bad idea at all. I do that with games I play personally all the time, but in this case I planned on making content so I jumped onboard as soon as I could.
@BunnehGaming true, I didn't consider that. The odd glitch or not, those first 2 weeks could make a really big difference from a content creation standpoint. I've really enjoyed the sons of the forest play through, but I've been waiting for the new ark for so many years, I'm pretty excited! :)

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core Processor 3.65 GHz, 32 gigs of Ram, RTX 2070. I have to turn off the volumetric clouds to get between 30 and 40 FPS. I also have to turn most things off or down in the settings. Oh and its on its own SSD
Ouch, that's a shame you're getting such poor performance on that rig. My guess is that it's a hardware issue and they'll hopefully resolve it soon.

@@vexingcat9813 Yes, as in your computer's hardware is conflicting with the coding of the game in some way and causing poor performance - oftentimes it's not even optimizations that a developer makes that fixes issues, but rather just tweaking in the code that reverses conflicts with certain rigs.
Am i the only person thinking that dlss isnt working properly, also when i use torch -20fps instant , 3070 on high 45 fps max
No the graphics certainly aren't tweaked the way they should be. Hopefully they'll do some optimization passes soon.

Do you think an i9 makes a noticeable difference over an i7?
In my experience yes, but mostly with my video editing software or super CPU-intensive games (like New World that is just poorly optimized).
Am I the only one getting crashes every 20 minutes or so? 😂 (playing on single player)
Oof, must be some kind of memory leak - I played for about 30 minutes and didn't experience that, but that doesn't really mean anything. I've heard a lot of people are having crashes and general performance issues.
When is asa coming to xbox?
I believe the official statement was "sometime in November."
Does non dedicated have tethering?
I don't know the answer to that yet; my best guess is yes, but I can't confirm.

It's a beast don't get me wrong, but not highest-end out there. My PC specs are in the description.
