I think how good we looked is a bit overstated. Palace right now is a bad team. They made us look better. They also had equally as many clear cut chances as united did, they probably had about 3 chances they should have scored as well.

I think going from a false 9 in Zirkzee to Rashford/Hojlund in a more traditional striker role plus removing Eriksen lost us complete control in the midfield. If we wanted to get Hojlund on the field, I wouldn’t have been opposed to changing to a diamond formation, with maybe Amad coming into the 10 and Hojlund and Rashford playing as a front two. Would have allowed us to keep that extra man in midfield that Zirkzee gives us
On the lisandro point. You cant pass forward just for the sake of it. If there is no good option then why pass forward just wait till there is a good one and at points palace packed the midfield and it was difficult to pass through
but if you move the ball quickly an option will open for others him dallying on the ball gives the opposition time to get set defensively. He doesnt have to force it but he shouldn't hold it so long when the pass he eventually make isnt super incisive

Against Spurs I would go with the same back 5, Midfield of Ugarte Kobbie and Bruno but i will bring on Eriksen early and a front 3 of Rashford Zirkzee and Amad, with Garnacho and Hojlund off the bench. The Substitution made sense, it just didn't work. 60 mins into the game before the first substitution. We all agree that zirkzee is not a "goalscorer", bringing in Rashford was trying something different, as everything before then hasn't produced a goal. bringing in someone we know can score a goal when he's on his game. Many of the fanbase questioned eriksen starting in the first place but that worked, Eriksen for Ugarte was needed, Eriksen has played over 3 70' mins game back to back. Bringing in Hojlund is not crazy, we are looking for a goal.

his ball playing ability has been greatly exaggerated, add on to that his physical deficiencies and its clear YORO cant return to squad quick enough!
Ironically he was better defensively for the most part. He was winning duels against Mateta.
There were no options for him, he kept the ball waiting for movement or a passing option, when nothing happened he'd pass it back to de ligt.

I think going from a false 9 in Zirkzee to Rashford/Hojlund in a more traditional striker role plus removing Eriksen lost us complete control in the midfield.
If we wanted to get Hojlund on the field, I wouldn’t have been opposed to changing to a diamond formation, with maybe Amad coming into the 10 and Hojlund and Rashford playing as a front two. Would have allowed us to keep that extra man in midfield that Zirkzee gives us
On the lisandro point. You cant pass forward just for the sake of it. If there is no good option then why pass forward just wait till there is a good one and at points palace packed the midfield and it was difficult to pass through
but if you move the ball quickly an option will open for others him dallying on the ball gives the opposition time to get set defensively. He doesnt have to force it but he shouldn't hold it so long when the pass he eventually make isnt super incisive

Against Spurs I would go with the same back 5, Midfield of Ugarte Kobbie and Bruno but i will bring on Eriksen early and a front 3 of Rashford Zirkzee and Amad, with Garnacho and Hojlund off the bench. Garnacho for me should never start again this season, He is 100% way more affective off the bench and it is very clear. Base of performances only I would drop Bruno for Eirksen but Bruno is our captain so I know that will never happen. But i would love to see Eriksen Kobbie and Ugarte midfield 3.

I think ten hag in game management was really poor today and it has been for a while now.
Missing chances is a squad quality issue, and Ten Hag built the squad.
We only looked good in the first 45 minutes because Palace stood off us and their team had no balance.
Their only DM was Wharton and then the four midfielders in next to him were Eze and Kamada (CAMs) and Nketiah (a striker).
No surpise that Palace started to control the game more once Lerma and Hughes came on.

United have had more possession in every half of a game this season. Massive improvement. The Substitution made sense, it just didn't work. 60 mins into the game before the first substitution. We all agree that zirkzee is not a "goalscorer", bringing in Rashford was trying something different, as everything before then hasn't produced a goal. bringing in someone we know can score a goal when he's on his game. Many of the fanbase questioned eriksen starting in the first place but that worked, Eriksen for Ugarte was needed, Eriksen has played over 3 70' mins game back to back. Bringing in Hojlund is not crazy, we are looking for a goal.
If we had scored half of our chances in the first half, nothing that happened after the sub would even matter. Plus it's not like we became bad after the subs.
