Man, I didn't know that happened. I'm a huge fan of those legends. Leave the bike as it is Kap...what an honor it must be and feel for you to have that in your museum.
I remember back in the 90's Robbie Knievel was the guy to watch ! I always wanted a 2 stroke dirtbike but my dad always said I will never ever buy you a motorcycle ! But at the age of 30 I bought a blown 06 RM 250 for $400cdn that was basically in parts in 2 boxes. I got myself a shop manual and I rebuilt it from ground up. At 30 years old that was my first ever motorcycle and learning experience ! One of the highlights in my life for sure ! RIP Robbie you inspired me like hell when I was a kid !
@@bobdog4379 I know right ! I already drove Raptor's and Banshee's but never an actual 2 wheeled bike ! And when I saw the add on marketplace and the kid selling it was the street right behind mine I immdiately bought it ! Never regretted a single moment on that bike ! Even bought another one when I sold that one to pay for my daughters braces !
Thank you for the touching memorial to Robbie, I just turned 60 and had the honor being a rabid fan of Evel also, as a kid we would ride dirt bikes from sun up to sundown all summer long it seemed, but when Evel had a jump we would all gather at one kids house and all just be glued to the tv and holding our breath, but then when he made it we would all go blasting out the door so we could all pretend we were him, and then there's Robbie oh my gosh I had just as many oxygen robbing moments with him. I could feel your true sadness while doing this video, and my helmets off to you for being able to get through it as good as you did, I seriously doubt I could done as good of a job knowing that's his bike, I got chills a few times when you were riding it and I'm sure he was looking down and thanking you for riding his motorcycle the way it was meant to be ridden, Just what an incredible honor to be in possession of such a historical motorcycle. As far as the leave the motorcycle as is or restore it question, 🙏 please , please! leave it just the way it is , just as Robbie had it , the second you do anything, it's no longer Robbies bike, it's your's. If you asked me to pick my favorite between the father or son ? well they each have there super powers and brought me so much spine tingeling entertainment, but Evel was my hero growing up and I just have so many fond memories of that time of my life, I still remember one of the things Evel would say at a jump was always wear a helmet(before this I rode half the time without one),after that I always wore one, it was the seventies much simpler times, it was pre video games and the world was our playground, so sorry I got lost on memory lane for a moment and way off topic here, which was Robbie Knievel , I remember the morning my wife came in and told me she had just heard he had passed, (she knows I'm a huge fan ) I have a signed poster I got after we drove a few hours to watch Robbie jump at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City , Or, what a treat that was, so glad I stood in that very long line to get my poster signed, and he was very gracious , shook my hand , said a very warm and genuine hello and nice to meet you, I left feeling the appreciation and love he had for all his many! many!, fans. And I know this might seem weird but when my wife told me Robbie had passed, it just seemed it was truly the end of an era of true motorcycle super heroes, I know there's a few others that are awesome in there own right, but in my book no one could match the showmanship and mystique of Evel and Robbie Knievel, thanks so much for posting this video, it was so awesome to run acrossed this while searching for Robbie Knievel videos tonight , Thank you!!👍 👏 👍 😀

When I was a kid ( 11 or 12 years old Peoria Illinois ) my Dad hated Evel Kenieval because he was sick of having to get this older guy to fix our busted up bicycles . Wheelies and ramps just got longer and bigger . But ..that is why we learned to fix our own bikes and started to save for our motorcycles . I can't remember ever taking our motorcycles to the shop except for a rear wheel we smashed over a double jump . We hadn't learned to lace a rim yet . Thanks to you Evel and Robbie because of you we had a heck of a great life too ! PK

What a tribute! Thanks Ken. I remember watching Evel's jumps live on TV and reading any print I could find on him. He was probably the biggest rock star of the 1970s. Robbie's career is at least as impressive as his father's, though he didn't have his father's bravado and flair for self promotion. Imagine if he did.
I seen Robbie and Evil, at the Calgary international raceway in 1977, I was 11 years old. Caught Robbie mid flight with my Polaroid, jumping over 10 vans. Had Evils toy, watched the Toronto jump, where Robbie made his first appearance. And the Snake river canyon jump. Watched all of Robbies jumps, I always be a fan of theirs, God rest their souls, and thanks for the video.

Great respectful tribute video, RIP Robbie. So cool you have that bike imo it's much better and more interesting and iconic the way it is. If you restore it, it'll just be another CR500. Keep up the great work Ken, would love to visit your museum one day.
Thank you for the wonderful tribute to RK, I’m a tad older and I remember vividly the Wide World of Sports jumps by Evel, never missed a jump…. Without these Trail Blazers there wouldn’t be a Travis Pastrana, Ken Block or even a Tony Hawk…
Yes, I agree! The real alarming aspect is people will still choose not to pay attention to this fact or call it a conspiracy theory and those are just plain brainwashed sheeple!
I watched Robbie and his dad's shows when I was a kid and it left a lasting impression on me for sure. I have countless injuries from going 100mph with my hair on fire and soaring a few stories above the earth. My last bad injury was in 2008 I cased a double and did the worm down the landing face at over 70mph broke my shoulder in 7 places, tore my infraspinatus tendon, dislocated my wrist, thumb, hip and cracked my sternum. My feet came up over my head and I slid on the top of my helmet feet vertical for over 35 feet. My son and buddy Fred thought for sure I had broke my neck and was dead. I got up shook it off and rode 3 more laps like that before packing it up. 29 weeks in physical therapy later I was back on a bike ripping it up. My wife doesn't understand my infatuation with MX bikes and why at 50 I still suit up and go play in the dirt. I told her this, "age is a number, youthfulness is a state of mind and passion is mind over matter, if I slow down, become over cautious for the rest of my life, then it will become very mundane, and I will die a miserable death." "If I die going for it in the dirt then at least I go out doing something exhilerating and that I am passionate about." Yes indeed, I am more than old enough to think better of the idea, but hell I'm still too young to give a damn and boy am I having fun! R.I.P Robbie, may you and your pops entertain the masses in Heaven with the greatest father & son stunt show on earth.
How sad. I remember when Evel would do a jump on TV, the streets were empty, and we were all glued to the TV. Robbie was just as amazing as his father: fearless, patriotic, genuine. Much love for them and their family. Rest In Peace. You are greatly missed. And may God comfort your family. ❤
I remember. It seemed like the whole country stopped what they were doing to watch Knievel do his thing on Wide World Of Sports. After he finished, the adults would go back to what they were doing, and we kids would be talking about it for days.
I was at that show in Bay St. Louis Mississippi. The “jump off” between Robbie and Eddie Kid in ‘93. Me and Lenny Suppes were working with Bill “Spanky” Spangler on that show. The rules were kinda goofy and Robbie lost. Even though his longest jump was farther than Eddie’s longest jump. We partied on a large houseboat that was rented for us after the show. It was moored next to a large riverboat casino. Robbie was a real cowboy and one of the best riders I’ve ever known. I last saw him, maybe 8 or 10 years ago. When he came pulling up to a corner store in his motor home. It was Kitty cornered to my house in Phoenix. He was looking for directions. He had no idea where I lived and I just happened to be at the store talking to my buddy that owned it. It was so cool to see him again after so many years. Very strange how things happen in life. Rest in peace my friend…
Still have the VHS tape I recorded the fountain jump on that night. Robbie and his dad helped us dream as children. They showed us anything is possible. It’s a sad day in the motorcycle world. That was a great tribute Ken. I’m sure Robbie is smiling at you riding his bike today. RIP Robbie! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Man, I didn't know that happened. I'm a huge fan of those legends. Leave the bike as it is Kap...what an honor it must be and feel for you to have that in your museum.
I was born in 1985 and I grew up watching him and his dad... RIP robbie 🙏 definitely a legend that helped pave the way for what we see today 🙏
Nice starter bike lol.😎👍
@@bobdog4379 I know right ! I already drove Raptor's and Banshee's but never an actual 2 wheeled bike ! And when I saw the add on marketplace and the kid selling it was the street right behind mine I immdiately bought it ! Never regretted a single moment on that bike ! Even bought another one when I sold that one to pay for my daughters braces !
Nothing but respect for the legend. Rest easy and fly high .
There's no one better to represent him and his bike. We are lucky to have you in the motorcycle community!
Thank you!
Thank you for the touching memorial to Robbie, I just turned 60 and had the honor being a rabid fan of Evel also,
as a kid we would ride dirt bikes from sun up to sundown all summer long it seemed, but when Evel had a jump we would all gather at one kids house and all just be glued to the tv and holding our breath, but then when he made it we would all go blasting out the door so we could all pretend we were him, and then there's Robbie oh my gosh I had just as many oxygen robbing moments with him.
I could feel your true sadness while doing this video, and my helmets off to you for being able to get through it as good as you did, I seriously doubt I could done as good of a job knowing that's his bike, I got chills a few times when you were riding it and I'm sure he was looking down and thanking you for riding his motorcycle the way it was meant to be ridden,
Just what an incredible honor to be in possession of such a historical motorcycle.
And I know this might seem weird but when my wife told me Robbie had passed, it just seemed it was truly the end of an era of true motorcycle super heroes, I know there's a few others that are awesome in there own right, but in my book no one could match the showmanship and mystique of Evel and Robbie Knievel, thanks so much for posting this video, it was so awesome to run acrossed this while searching for Robbie Knievel videos tonight ,
Thank you!!👍 👏 👍 😀
Hi Keith how are you doing.
This was a special tribute and my hats off to you for this one Senior🙏🏻❤️🔥🙏🏻
What an amazing piece of bike history to have. That CR500 still sounds awesome too! Great message at the end there. Life is a journey, not a destination. RIP Robbie
PK
Bloomington area here. Remember Sparland MX track? Man I loved racing there
Born in the same area (bartonville), and lived the same kind of childhood (70s-80s). I think most 70s kids all wanted to be Evel.

@@teamflanneloutdoors5631 I wish I did ... I was just thirteen and our Dad would have never taken us to a moto X track . He took us to a Cubs Cardinal game once ..go kart track once ( I was shoked ) . But he worked hard and a lot of hours so we just didn't go many places . I didnt start racing until I was 17 and bought a small pickup in Oklahoma. My first Moto X bike was a 78 1/2 RM 250 . Loved that bike ! PK
@@EPstroker You sound like me and my brother . We loved muscle cars and moto X bikes ...we even bought our own bikes and first bikes . That was all we cared about . But we had a blast ! PK
This was a beautiful tribute Ken. I’ve only read two small news stories, and saw one 4 minute tribute from a reporter that knew the Kenievels. This was awesome.
RIP RK.
Fantastic tribute to an amazing man. Thank you so much KAPLAN AMERICA for these incredible videos.
Thank you for that one. Sad day for sure. I'm 55 and watched all the jumps Robbie and his dad did. Thanks for preserving this history. And glad to see you made it back from Saudi safely
Rest in peace, Robbie, a true American legend.
Hi Tim how are you doing.
...I learned all about courage which turned me into an adrenaline junky and that's what I'm most proud of.. You can't teach courage but you can inspire, I want to thank the Knievel family for those breaths of fresh air,,God speed Robbie...
We’ll said!
Brother Kap. Thank you for that incredible tribute. I was actually at the Buffalo Chip when Robbie made that jump... fucking amazing... BIG DEEP BREATHS... we are getting older and guys like you help us get on with it. I love my KTM 450, I'm 57 and fuck yes... KEEP LIVING it.
Thanks to Robbie for all the most inspiring and entertaining years of great performance loved this guy and he passed away on my mother's birthday wow
I felt that! Great tribute to Robbie...RIP. It was obvious in the way you rode that CR that you were digging emotion. Thanx for a powerful tribute buddy.
Hi how are you doing.
Rip Robbie, my generation is dropping like flies. I remember the day in 1974 when his father jumped the Snake River. Also the Caesars palace fountain jump. Robbie was a great career I'm in his own right.
Hi Richard how are you doing.
Wow! Awesome video! I had no idea that Robbie passed. I got the chance to see him perform at Giant Stadium in New Jersey. Great rider. There's nothing as beautifully sounding as a two stroke. Thanks again for this video. My condolence to Robbie's family, and friends. RIP great one!😥
RIP Robbie! Watched You many times! Made your Dad so Proud! Love that you always were a Patriot! 🫡
Very nice tribute to an American hero. Never missed his fathers jumps on TV as a kid. Robbie following in his father’s footsteps was a great thing to see. RIP Robbie join your father and jump the heavens.
Holy cow this is the first I'm hearing, RIP Robbie, you will be missed.
RIP Robbie, I grew up watching an idealized him an his dad growing up. One of the reasons I was so into motocross, hill climbing, hard to replace them as they were real deal. Awesome tribute thanks for keeping the spirit alive brother.
What a great tribute Kenny. RIP ROBBIE KNIEVEL I hope your jumps in heaven are high and long and you land safely.
Excellent tribute brother!!!
RIP Robbie ❤️🇺🇸🏁🙏🏼
R.I.P Robbie. Great tribute to Robbie. Just awesome

Awesome Tribute My Brother Godspeed Robbie Knievel , much love to the Knievel family
Very nice tribute ❤
The 1st bike I learned to wheelie was a knievel toy!
Much respect for the

Rip Robbie I grow up with him watching an Loving my bikes he is in gods arms now
Rest in Peace Robbie Knievel
I've watched this video like a 100+ times.... Never gets old, really glad that you still have this bike on display mate
Amazing tribute. Thanks for this! Please don't touch that bike. As long as it runs good, it's perfect.
Robbie and his dad were extreme sports pioneers. Father and son cultural architects.
Thanks Kap for the great tribute to Robbie and his Dad. BIG part of my youth. Not going to see anything like them again. Had all the toys as a kid. In the 70’s 80’s kids in the neighborhood all doing bicycle jumps saying their Evel Knievel!!!
This is a great, heartfelt tribute! There will never be another like him. The family name Knievel will live on forever in the hearts of many. He was the last of his kind. They just don’t make ‘em like that any more. R.I.P Robbie Knievel
This bike is a memorial, and so glad you did not disrupt the heritage of it. Thanks for sharing! "do the thing you love, and tell all the people you love you love them" We are never promised another breath..God Bless
What a legend! saw him jump 29 cement rucks at Salinas air show, we were sitting inline with the landing ramp (you could feel the impact) after the jump he turned around and did it AGAIN! god speed Robbie you and you're Dad will NEVER be forgotten. please don't do anything to that bike.
A great tribute. I was a huge Evel fan in the 70's, still am. I have also been a huge Robbie fan for decades. I, like all of Robbie's fans, was shocked to hear of his passing. He will be missed by many. R.I.P. Robbie, you are the best.....
Terrific tribute , with just the right amount sketch . My childhood friends and I marveled at what the Kneivels were doing at the time . They were probably the first true X - gamers . Thanks Ken
What an excellent tribute to Captain Robbie Knievel!!!
I did not know this sad news. I am a big fan of Robbie and am very sad to hear this news.
Life is short for sure. I agree with everything you said.
"Kaptain"
Great respectful tribute video, RIP Robbie. So cool you have that bike imo it's much better and more interesting and iconic the way it is. If you restore it, it'll just be another CR500. Keep up the great work Ken, would love to visit your museum one day.
You are such a awesome guy and Patriot my friend, we love you.
Rest In Peace Robbie. I saw your jumps on live TV. Both Robbie and Evel Knievel were the best motorcycle daredevils. The CR500 is a beast.
We're losing our heroes at an alarming rate
Everyone dies ….. 😢
They come in 3s
Yeah if you think about it hard enough you'll know why
@@matthewwhite4008 no mention of his demise.. it's not old age, not a stunt gone wrong.....
RIP gone to soon never to be forgotten great tribute.
Giving me the chills 😭😭 R.I.P Robbie !
True patriot Kap! Keep up the good fight. Rip to a legend. Glad you embrace all that is great in what we love doing.
My favorite jump was completing the jump his father couldn't... Fountains at Caesar's Palace. EPIC moment!! ✝️
RIP Robbie! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
They were just like us. Americans.
Didnt have an orange stock cr500 tank at Ceasers Palace, did it?
. If this tuber bought this bike believing its an actual authentic Caption Robbie Jump bike, he's been had...Unless it was stolen and thrashed to Holy hell. The knievel equipment was always impeccably maintained.who the hell conned this guy into spending money on this abortion? This so called knievel bike is totally roached.
I’ve enjoyed watching the Knievel’s when I was growing up. Thanks for the proper send off Kaplan!
Awesome tribute Sr! He was a legend to us riders! Total savage! RIP Robbie!✊🏻💪🏻✊🏻
A beautiful tribute to his legend , RIP sir . I Often revisit the videos of him and his father’s spectacular heroics, they left their mark on our American spirit of can do .
Rest in Peace Robbie! You were an American Hero!
Thank you for the tribute Robbie R.I.P.
Saw lots of his jumps over the years on line and on TV. He was a great stuntman and a total legend. Definately had an advantage over his dad with the bikes he had available to him, but a great rider with a huge skillset! RIP Robbie...
Thank you. I'll never forget watching Evel and Robbie on TV. Great video RIP Robbie
Like his father. A legend in his own time. R.I.P.
