    This song doesn't need the animated story as much as No Bullets Fly. That song needs the story behind it and is a tear jeaker every time.

    Their commander went to find every one of her girls, because they were labeled as traitors and defectors, since they never returned.
    I remember an interview with a survivng Night Witch. She said that if you dug your finger into the plane, it would rip. They were that flimsy. She was proud of the title Night Witch. She also spoke fondly of a girl who survived seven flights out. Queens. Every single one of them!

    Pilot here, the engines need rotational energy to start, on the ground you can hand crank them, in the air your forward motion causes the air passing over the prop to spin it, its like roll or push starting a manucal car.

    I think you would love the guitars in their song Stormtroopers from their newest album.
    Other Nordic Metal bands that I listen to is;
    Volbeat (Denmark)
    Solstafir( Island)
    Amon Amarth (sweden)
    Majestica (Sweden, in fact the guitarist in Sabaton, Tommy is leadsinger)
    In Flames (sweden)
    Amaranthe (sweden)
    Apocalyptica (Finland)
    There's a lot more great bands on the Nordic music scene, but this is some of the bands that gets played in my house.

    It might not be a thing you want to do videos on, but maybe it would be something you might want to check out in your own time, but Sabaton has a channel called Sabaton History where the band and a historian talk about the actual history behind their songs and how the song itself came to be.

    For this song, the animated story video is great for a first time reaction because it has all the context you need to hear the song in it's best state, however this song also has a great live performance.
    The Great Tour version they have up is, in my opinion, the best use of pyrotechnics Sabaton has had, it fits and adds to the metal. I definitely recommend you check it out.

    No expert Mr. MMR, but many simple aircraft will windmill the prop, albeit slowly, when gliding. It is a fair amount of drag though.
    Slowly is enough to get a restart, most all aero engines are usually stopped by the mixture control being moved to cut-off, the ignition goes off after the engine has stopped. The ignition in older and hand started types is usually an impulse magneto, this at very low revs, like hand cranking, is held back until after top dead centre and then releases to click round fast to make an adequate spark but the engine thus cannot kick back, then if the engine only windmills at say 30rpm stopping momentarily on each compression then it would start. Very old gas powered tractors are the same.
    The lead guitarist for Sabaton is Tommy Johansson, a multi instrumentalist and a fabulous singer with a several octave range, you will find him on YT and with his band Majestica which is worth a listen.
    Perhaps start with Tommy's "Octave challenge", one octave above the original music. . . . . . . . . . . .

      That's correct. A stopped propeller in fight usually means the shaft is jammed and the plane will only ever go down because the engine won't start again no matter what.

    One of my favorite little details in this animated story video is right at the beginning, when the German guard is looking up at the sky trying to figure out what he's hearing - the silhouettes soaring by keep alternating between biplanes, and witches on broomsticks.
    They flew so many sorties in part because the planes were so small, they only carried 2-4 bombs per mission, but they'd go out as many as 8-10 times per night. I believe they didn't actually shut the engines off, but they put them into idle in order to reduce the engine noise to an absolute minimum, to where the sound of the wind in the wires would have been as loud if not louder.
    So, two more Sabaton videos (as opposed to lives) that you'll want to see:
    No Bullets Fly animated story video: ruclips.net/video/dslO-3GgenY/видео.html (the Charlie Brown, Franz Stiegler incident, very sweet touch at the end)
    Christmas Truce music video: ruclips.net/video/HPdHkHslFIU/видео.html (the 1914 Christmas truce in the trenches of the Western Front, make sure to let the credits play out)

      The Polikarpov Po-2 biplane was not small or large, and for example, the length of the Polikarpov Po-2 biplane is 8.17 meters, and the length of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 is 8.94 meters.
      I have seen an interview with one of "the night witches" and she said that they turned off the engines (интервью было по-русски).

      @@user-iu9bz6pv7t In that case, I defer to your greater knowledge. Mine is not directly from one of the members of the 588th, but simply from Wikipedia, which said they idled the engines. Perhaps this is a translation issue? I'm no pilot, but in English, "idling" an engine means the engine is still running, but no gears (throttle, etc.) are engaged.
      My use of "small" in reference to the planes had more to do with their bomb-carrying capacity of (according to Wikipedia) 350 kilos, than the physical size of the planes.

    • @user-iu9bz6pv7t
      @user-iu9bz6pv7t Год назад +1

      @@MsCatstaff yes, they said that they turned off the engines, but they didn't talk about idling the engine.
      I understood that you did not mean the physical size of the Po-2 biplane.
      Good luck!

    Starting the engine while in flight just requires switching on the ignition because the propeller would be turning from the passage of the air.

    About not really paying attention to History and stuff like that, i think most people will totally understand that. Almost all of us had to find that EXACT thing that got us into history. Not everyone is gonna like it, thats totally fine.
    I think that Sabatons songs are good without thinking about the history, but with the history their songs are amazing. Alot of their songs are about important history to know about and some pretty cool history aswell. Its totally fine to not be interested tho and i feel like most of the people that watches you think the same :D
    Btw: Sabaton - The Red Baron is probably a song you would like considering you might like a little faster songs of theirs!
