This is one of three songs that Sabaton and Yarn Hub have done together, "No bullets fly" and "Lady of the Dark" are the other two. I think you did a wonderful job reacting to this video, most people are confused in the beginning with these great tales of history. I’m surprised people are confused about it. I thought for a new comer like myself this made perfect sense. An intro to explain what the song is about and it also being animated is a win win. What a band !

Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Sabaton. If you keep on this path you will find so much good music. Most of them are based on real war time stories, as someone said. If you feel the need for research, do check out their official Sabaton History Channel. There you will find some short stories about the event in the songs and how they come up with the song.

Congrats on 4K. Great reaction. Sabaton tells tales of sacrifice, honor, heroism, and humanity during the chaotic cauldron of war, all based on real history. there are no bad Sabaton songs, so keep rocking Sabaton.

You will be blown away and most likely cry by No Bullets Fly. All animated videos contain a song and some history around it and you often see the band members somewhere in the video.

Almost every single Sabaton song is about an historical military event or person. If you're not really that into such subjects, you think you won't like Sabaton...but they make the stories so interesting w their delivery! I fought so hard against liking this band...til I started taking in the actual History, and watching the band's tour vlogs...I came to "know" the guys...big personalities, all...and the music just started making sense to me!
I totally get you feeling emotional...there are war-hardened veterans who just sob to every song!

Exactly! This is how I feel currently! I’m just fascinated how a bad can make history sound so interesting and addictive. They really make you want to hear more.

Welcome to the "Sabaton Experience" - they do TRUE stories of military history. They don't take sides, just telling stories of heroism, valor, mercy and courage.
May I suggest "No Bullets Fly" (the 8:49 long one w/YarnHub - the same folks who did the animation you just watched) - and "Lady of the Dark" - you'll love them.

If they only lost 32 lives from 23000 sorties i call that a MASSIVE success. That survival ratio is absolutly insane and especially when u consider the planes they hade. Yes they were slower and hade better mobility but that also means u cant defend yourself in the air and all u can hope for is the enemy runs out of ammo if they ever get intercepted in the air.
