@@terellgates3379 there are a bunch of videos on RUclips, I’ve never actually done it so I can’t say exactly how but there’s a spring you can also zip tie and I’m going about 35 mph after that and unscrewing the throttle stop screw
First off that's the throttle screw it doesn't give you much speed if you mess with it maybe a mile or so and yeah just unscrewing it a bit is the best option if you completely remove it you'll be struggling against the governor for extra speed while it's trying slow the rpm back down
Why not back your screw out as was intended? The real limiter to it is how far the throttle body moves. And the spring on your accelerator cable is to prevent the cable from sticking and resulting in loss of control. What you absolutely could do though, is adjust the air fuel mix by opening up the intake ports on that plastic air intake you removed to uncover all that, and by turning the screw the carb left a full rotation.
@@braydenmichaels8190a couple of good reasons for welding the screw, first they don't want it to go any faster second there is allot of vibration and it's not a bad idea to safety weld many of the screws on there.
@@JacobOfTheNorth there is a spring ( governor ) which when it extends keeps the engine from reaching max velocity. Its under the gas tank if you zip tie it to keep it from extending then it literally adds about 14 mph more ,
A good mod that I have done is drill a big hole in the front of the air filter box, it’s basically a diy supercharger Edit- forgot to say, but it just gives you better acceleration and possibly 2-3 more mph.
Yes and no you can remove that spring but need to relocate it so your THROTTLE WILL CLOSE and you will slow down second dont cut the SCREW it's a SCREW you can turn the SCREW left or right to listen or tighten it like a SCREW is intended for need to think just a tiny bit more I'm not trying to be a asshole just making sure no one else finds out the hard way
Taking that spring off just makes your throttle not work right cause that spring is what returns your throttle and without it your throttle will get stuck open and you have too pull it back too normal with your hand which will make you burn yourself on the muffler
For anyone who wants to do this, don’t. I say this because what he is doing is taking of the guard to the throttle this could lead to the flooding of your carburetor. Which then leads to lots of white smoke.
If you take the brake out it will give it extra power too

You don't need bolt cutters for the screw you can just simply unscrew it. That's the governor
The governor is inside, it’s a plastic gear that keeps the bike from going past a certain rpm
@@thecarnut9899I only remove the screw. Tell me about the plastic piece please I'm trying to get more speed

@terellgates3379 I'd say get a torque converter you'll get a few extra miles out of it but it's a 60$ upgrade

Hey! Thank you for the recommendation. The only reason I didn’t take the screw out is it’s welded on. This was a stock motor, and not a aftermarket.
Hey I’ll tell u why cause he said so get out of his comments and never doubt mini bike man🤬

Screw is welded so you do have to cut it

You need to zip tie the Governor dude. Added 10mph

U must not know what a supercharger does lmfaoo that would just be a cold air intake
Or back the screw out like it’s intended to be as it is a governed screw and by backing it out allows the engine more power
Taking the air filter off makes the carburetor exposed to the open air causing the engine to inhale dust and debris that fly in the air.

I've bent thd throttle restraint off of my ct100u, ive hot 39 mph

you can just unscrew that screw instead of cutting it and it can reach up to 40 mph, and if you want to go slower just screw it back in
They weld it. You have no choice but to cut it
O that make more sense y you cut it

Does the throttle spring really work?
Maybe that's true, kid is something runs good and moves? Don't go wrenching on it. You might think different about the speed when they slide out.
The governor kicks in and makes it throttle down while riding on mine

I was wondering why are you using bolt cutters not just unscrew the screw but is it because it’s welded
