If you plan on using your tablet as essentially a laptop only using Samsung Dex then I can see the appeal of the Ultra, but for those of us who are using it for multi-function purposes I'd highly recommend the plus. I accidentally ordered a s10 Ultra case instead of a plus and you can't get your fingers around it in landscape mode and that's coming from a guy that's 6'1'' with pretty large hands. To me the Ultra has one purpose which is a laptop alternative. The plus version can be used for everything a normal tablet can and should be used for plus a laptop alternative from time to time. To be honest, I even found the plus to be a tad on the bigger size as well. If there was a regular S10 tablet I probably would have went for it now knowing what I know and having my hands on them all. The S10 Ultra is truly massive...before you buy it go to the store and get your hands on it first to see if it's really what you want. The difference between the 12 and 16GB of Ram is negligible for most people's uses.

I’ve just got the S10 ultra and it is in 5G cellular version . It’s a lovely tablet but feels heavy with the keyboard case. It’s a huge screen tho. I’ve just ordered a different case as I don’t like the keyboard case the keyboard gets in the way. And the tablet feels it can fall out of the case.
Not a big Tablet user. I had one a while back and just never really had a use for it. I still don't really have a use. But Christmas Day I found myself wanting a 2nd TV to watch the football on Netflix and the NBA games on RUclipsTV. And remembered Samsung had a 14 inch tablet and went to see what the deal was with the tab9 & 10s. Personally I was leaning towards the tab9 FE since I would only really use it to monitor cameras at work & as a 2nd TV option for those multiple event times. But then I noticed Amazon was offering to buy the tab10+ in 5 installments. And truthfully, if Amazon was offering this on the Ultra I would be tempted to do that, only for the bigger screen. Got no interest in 16gb RAM and 1TB. 12gb will be enough and these have 1.5TB expansion slots. I also appreciate the keyboard covers.

The prices have gotten crazy. But yet we still get them. My s22 Ultra was $50 more than the current price of the tab s10+. I can't imagine what more a phone can do. Lol

Ipad is pretty limited in software but has way more performance but samsung has so much software variety but they aren't as optimized as iPad but the performance diffrence isn't really that big so choose if you want
My Tab s9 U was force closing when I played videos in apps at 1080p or more. I have the S10 U now. It does not force close videos. In fact, the videos also no longer jump between frames, which was also annoying. The gen 2 snapdragon just doesn't have a powerful enough video buffer.

I do think it is the same processor but i could be wrong as i would expect it to be the same cause of the name. But im in the same dilema with the processors i have the s24 ultra and the optimisation is really good but do i want to risk it and get one with a different processor on the tab s10.

Yes, it is newer and a slight upgrade over the S9 +. The difference in the S9+ and S10+ is the 7 Android upgrades and security patches. The S9 + tablet will receive 4 more updates and most people don't keep it longer than 4 years anyway. The S9+ is a nice tablet and will save you some money.
Why would they not have a 5G option for the ultra? The 14-inch screen would be great for navionics but now i need to buy a $100 gps antenna to utilize it? Jeez.
The prices of these tablets are absolutely insane. Ridiculous. Complete price racketeering. Their profit margins are now running at 49-51%. Samsung used to post very healthy profit margins at 30%. But at 50%? They're just too expensive. Profiteering to the max. I've used tablets in the past but they are now getting to the point where they are twice the RRP since 2019. At these price levels, they are more expensive than some really excellent laptops. At these prices, Samsung tablets have to be offering Windows 11 in addition to Android. They are simply a no-go for me now. My Macbook Pro and my Samsung s24 is all I need.
I think Samsung sold too many regular Tab S9's and not enough Z Folds and so they discontinued that size for the Tab S10. These are just borderline not portable and definitely not comfortable for holding for any extended length of time. These are just too big. I will continue to use my slow Tab S2 8" and Ipad Mini until someone else offers something (Oneplus maybe???)
id go s9 skip the a9 they are slow and dont perform well. plus you are getting a way better tablet from A to S and the S comes with a pen if you need it.
I agree they missed the mark not having the base model, but you can certainly use the s10+ as a tablet unless your have very tiny hands. The purpose of this item to have a legit tablet that is comparable in Android form as an Ipad with IOS which they pulled off really well this time around. Samsung Dex is a great alternative laptop system as well. It's essentially Windows. You're really missing out if you don't spend some time on both the tablet feature and the Dex feature with a keyboard and track pad/mouse. Price wise I have no issues considering all it does. I paid $899 for an s10+ with a free Samsung keyboard using the the first responder discount and there are a bunch of discounts they have like student discounts where all you probably need is a picture of an old school ID. I mean if price a huge issue go for the S9 where if you look on eBay will likely find huge discounts on new or open box systems. I used to have a Yoga 2 in 1 where you could kinda use it as a tablet, but it's nothing like the real thing which is why I got rid of it for an s10+

The smaller model is the one that's easier to carry around. It's closer to a cell phone in size. I assume they assume the larger one was impractical to use as a phone.
No, the S10 Ultra has cellular models , however, your region deemed it wouldn't be profitable so they aren't sold there. Europe, Australia, ect have the Cellular models.
