Hi, I have a small house I just bought in Talladega Alabama 918 square feet and I want to install a 5 vent unit in it. how much should I be looking to pay?
About 7 years ago....wow, already 7 years ago..., I installed a 24,000 BTU ( 2x12,000 ), 240 volt, dual mini split with wall mount air handlers. The brand name is Thermocore. They worked great; nice & quiet, a lot cheaper than the traditional window air conditioners. I live here in north central Arkansas, where the Summers are usually in the 90's and Winters occasionally getting in the Teens. So, not extreme temps either way., and if extreme temps hit, it is not for very long. But about two years ago now, maybe a little longer, the bearings in the two air handlers started making noise; a high-pitched squealing type sound. Then the fan speeds started to not work properly and the Turbo fan speed setting would quite often not work at all. Bad motor bearings and bad control boards most likely....not worth getting repaired. Today, the handlers are barely working, loud and guess what, of course they are out of warranty. Now, I think that the outside unit is working fine. It is a Mitsubishi brand and they have a good reputation; it is the inside handlers that have gone bad. I am a big fan of mini splits since my old house never had the traditional cooling & heating duct type unit put in. So...I will just buy new air handlers and hope I get a longer life with new handlers. Thank you, China, for using poor quality bearings and circuit boards. My bank account really appreciates it...!!!
@@ILikeToBuildStuff And thank you for responding to my comments. But...I will have to 2nd the comment about the background music...it was kinda weird..lol..!! Maybe something a little bit more mellow ( I'm 72 and my hard-core loud music days are long gone....lol..!! ) . I do not have any specific suggestions. Maybe try something else and see what responses you get...good luck..!!
I bought a Della 120 volt, 1800btu online. I had the tools to install it. The unit cost $700. It came with all the lines and electric cable. MY son and I hooked this unit up in 3 hrs. We had put one in for someone else before. I called a guy I knew about my central unit that quit working and he said it would be $7,500 for the outside unit and a A coil. That was a rip off so I went mini split. So I paid $700 my son and I free labor. and a little wire and outside disconnect. Let's say it cost me $800- $7,500=$6700 saved. What a racket these HVAC companies are running. They rank below used car salesmen in trust. For a young guy you could make a living doing only mini splits.
Hey Paul, first thanks for subscribing I appreciate it! We can't bulk all the HVAC into this because there are a lot of them that are honest hard-working people but it is unfortunate that some really take advantage of the situation. I do see where your coming from though. Thanks for watching and the input!
Yes I know they are all over the world, but it depends on size of the unit in relation to the space. I have installed them in every room of a house for half the price of one standard 3 ton unit not to mention the unbelievable savings on the ole electric bill each month.
BTW... Your Background Music Sucks big time.... 5:39...I installed a 9K BTU and a 24K BTU Mini Split in 2 buildings last summer for the Price of the Installation Tools and Equipment (~ $400.00 Cnd)

these are in other countries besides the USA they tend to be better for like apartments and condos though arent they?

Is this with your hvac system or it replaced your hvac system? Just wanna understand the numbers a little more
Good morning, this replaced it. I only use the mini split for heating and cooling
I want to ask. Are you Also considering rising utility costs. In my area it's about 10 percent a year increase
I have to take the numbers as charged; I am sure the utilities will go up as they always do.
On your spreadsheet, column O should have column H data, previous year. You have 2021 data.
okay thanks
Have ever heard of Yeropr brand mini splits? I saw them Amazon. Real low cost. Check them out maybe make a video.
I will check it out
