I'm a grilling fanatic when it comes to corn because I like the char, but you've shown me I can still deliver a delicious corn side dish even when it's raining outside. 😊
Leave it in the husk and microwave for 3 minutes per ear. Use an oven mit or similar item to prevent burn. Put it on the cutting board, cut about 1 inch off the big end then squeeze out the ear. This gets the husk and silk off all at the same time.
Do you still raise the ear by placing it on a ramekin or other small bowl?
🤔
Yeah, what Randal sed 😉
Hi Deronda! We're getting fresh from the garden corn from our farmers market. I'm going to try it this way to save time & kettle washing! I bet it's better because some flavor has to get lost in the water! Thanks for sharing this.
Oh, Congratulations on achieving your RUclips goal! Woohoo! Awesome!
I used to do it this way, until I learned the easier and quicker way (which is the no husking method found on many RUclips videos), which as far as I can tell works just as well as the more laborious method.
Keep the ear inside its husk. Put on a plate in the microwave and nuke on high for 3-4 minutes. Remove plate and grasp the ear with a protective oven mitt on and use a large knife (preferably serrated) to but off the stem end right at the thickest point on the ear. Still using the mitt, squeeze at the pointy (silk) end and the cooked ear slides right out, absolutely no silk on it, ready for butter and salt. Some ears might be reluctant to slide out fully, so having a fork handy to help them out of the husk is a good idea. Can't see why anyone would use any other method once learning this technique.
Yes, much easier. I wet my husk a little to keep corn moist.
Did this today and were happy with the results. We rubbed sea salt, chilli powder and lemon to taste.👌😋🌷
Sounds great!
I followed your steps and the corn was PERFECT!!! Thankyou
Love microwave recipes!
Thanks for the video! Nothing like Southern Belle and her cooking. Will be coming back!!!
Just used your method to microwave a corn. Totally worked like a charm! Thank you 😉
Fantastic!
I just love your recipes. I look forward to you coming out with new ones. I am a new follower. I was wondering would you have a recipe on Long John's donuts that I can bake?
Worked like a charm!!!!
Sonunda mısırı su israf etmeden pişirmek nasip oldu sayenizde. Tadı gerçekten nefis. Tarif için çok teşekkürler. "Türkiye"den bol selamlar.
Yummm love it😋
Love it
I find that corn on the cob is even better if it is steamed in the microwave with the husk on since it is steamed in its own juices. If the corn is fresh enough you don't even need to dredge it first in the water!! Microwave on high for 4 min. for one and add an additional 2 minutes for each additional cob.
Thanks!!!! It worked perfectly
AWESOME!! You're welcome!
I never knew you could cook corn in the microwave until now going to try it tonight thanks for the tip
Any time!

I just love your channel. SS ( Satisfied Subbie) 😊😊🌺🌺
sassydiva5180 we always microwave it for 4 mins per ear with husk then just squeeze the corn right on out.
Hi, Deronda. Your corn on the cob looks gorgeous. Roses are red, violets are blue, cookies are sweet, but not as sweet as you, my dear friend. What did you enjoy about making corn on the cob? Take care of yourself, sweetie.

So yummy and so easy 🌽👍🏽
Yes it was!
Smells great.
They say another could way is to add milk and butter in the boiling pot. But this is how I made it. I do 5 and trying 4 as we speak, but next time 3 and let cool in microwave.
I’m gonna try it…. I’ll edit my comment when I do
It’s really good! Tysm!
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Is wrapping with tissue fine?
Thanks 😘🙏❤️
Welcome 😊
Nice
Please try with mustard oil, salt and lemon instead of butter. Let me know about your thoughts.
You can cook it in the husk and the silk comes off
Why the bowl and not a plate or on the turntable?
What about using saran wrap instead of a wet paper towel? I’ve done it for years with great success. Just wondering what is better. Paper towel or saran wrap?
Plastic wrap should never touch the food in a microwave or you'll be eating microplastics.
Thank you very much. I’ll never use saran wrap ever again from what you told me . Wet paper towel from here on out .
@@briangisler1981 I tried microwaving corn last night but instead of a wet paper towel I left the husk on. When done I cut off the fat end and pulled the corn out. That got all the silk off and tasted great.
Thank you so much For the corn cooking tips . I will definitely try that with the husk still on .
I butter a slice of bread (heavily) then you can just rap the ear with the bread and just pull it through, get another ear and repeat, repeat repeat.
I saw that cutco knife 😎
Thank you.....👍
Welcome 😊
Well darn! I cut the end off fist and then int he microwave !
cook same way, but use wax paper or paper towels
i'm gonna try it right now and i will be cutting the kernels off because i'm old and don't have all my teeth but i will leave them on for my wife, thnx.
So how do you do more than one ear at a time?
Add up to 3 CORN ON THE COBS, at a time, to microwave!! ENJOY!!
@@Foods101withDeronda for the 3 mins each? or just 3 mins?
Can you do several at a time?
YES...Jandre!! Add 1 minutes per each additional CORN ON THE COB!! ENJOY, my friend!! -Deronda :)
Foods101withDeronda awesome thank you!!!!
But how tender is the corn
Why not just leave it in the husk?
Oh gosh, i just made it now and it's soo delicious 😋
Who cooks one cob?
Way to much work. Throw it in the microwave husk and all, 4 minutes and walla, done. Cut a half inch off and squeeze it out and enjoy.
