    I'm a grilling fanatic when it comes to corn because I like the char, but you've shown me I can still deliver a delicious corn side dish even when it's raining outside. 😊

    Leave it in the husk and microwave for 3 minutes per ear. Use an oven mit or similar item to prevent burn. Put it on the cutting board, cut about 1 inch off the big end then squeeze out the ear. This gets the husk and silk off all at the same time.

      @mistergrendel32 2 года назад

      Do you still raise the ear by placing it on a ramekin or other small bowl?

    Hi Deronda! We're getting fresh from the garden corn from our farmers market. I'm going to try it this way to save time & kettle washing! I bet it's better because some flavor has to get lost in the water! Thanks for sharing this.
    Oh, Congratulations on achieving your RUclips goal! Woohoo! Awesome!

    I used to do it this way, until I learned the easier and quicker way (which is the no husking method found on many RUclips videos), which as far as I can tell works just as well as the more laborious method.
    Keep the ear inside its husk. Put on a plate in the microwave and nuke on high for 3-4 minutes. Remove plate and grasp the ear with a protective oven mitt on and use a large knife (preferably serrated) to but off the stem end right at the thickest point on the ear. Still using the mitt, squeeze at the pointy (silk) end and the cooked ear slides right out, absolutely no silk on it, ready for butter and salt. Some ears might be reluctant to slide out fully, so having a fork handy to help them out of the husk is a good idea. Can't see why anyone would use any other method once learning this technique.

      Yes, much easier. I wet my husk a little to keep corn moist.

    I find that corn on the cob is even better if it is steamed in the microwave with the husk on since it is steamed in its own juices. If the corn is fresh enough you don't even need to dredge it first in the water!! Microwave on high for 4 min. for one and add an additional 2 minutes for each additional cob.

    • @thenlightn1

    I butter a slice of bread (heavily) then you can just rap the ear with the bread and just pull it through, get another ear and repeat, repeat repeat.
