This is fabulous. I have spent weeks trying to find a quilting design for a 50 inch square fpp dog block. It has hundreds of random pieces at random angles, and this is the perfect quilting design for it. Will also assist in dodging those very bulky sections.

Hello! I hope you had a lovely day! I struggled with a foot stool under my needle today. Now I get to sit, unpick a bunch of sewing and watch you! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for sharing your time and expertise.

Sorry to hear that, but I hope you enjoyed the video whilst you unpicked!

I really enjoy your approach to machine quilting. I had a "minor" stroke a few years back and have had to re-learn machine quilting. But lots of positive progress has been made, so onword and upword! QUESTION: what are your thoughts about quilting applique and/or hand enbroidered squares? Around them or through them? Keep on posting new blocks, quilts and techniques.😃

I'm sorry to hear about the stroke, I hope you are making a strong recovery! I don't do a lot of applique myself, but my first thought is that you might want to use the quilting to frame around the applique to make it stand out rather than going through it. Same with the squares. I think it might make more of a vocal point of the piece than doing an all over deisgn on it.

Thank you. I'll give it a try.

I’m impressed with how straight your sewn lines are…any tips to keep the machine from going astray? 🤓

Thank you! I confess I need to draw lines for everything otherwsie I do go squint! Also having my hands either side of the walking foot to stabilise stops the wobble you sometimes get. That and going slowly when it counts helps too! Good luck with your straight lines!

Do you have a link for your book in pdf form?

Love these videos. But It's very hard to see the quilt lines on the electronic patterns. They almost disappear when you remove the quilt pattern. I barely see off-white lines on a white background. Can you use a bold line in a darker color to contrast with the quilts? I actually liked the shattered glass lines with the carpenter's star. Can't wait to see the difference with pattern 3.

Of course, and thanks for pointing that out. Video number 3 the lines are much more obvious! And I have included the Carpenters star and I have to admit I LOVE it!

Thanks for adjusting the design lines. Now that I've seen video 3, I totally agree with you!! It is such a better choice.

I really want to try this design! Sometimes when I quilt designs where the lines cross, I end up with a kind of subtle bulging as I approach the already quilted lines. Any troubleshooting ideas?

That used to happen to me all the time and it drove me mad! A walking foot and spray basting solved it for me. I've also tried making sure the quilt is as flat as psossible when you are approaching the line helps as well.

I'm sorry I've never used a longarm machine before so I can't advise how to do this.

Have you ever considered the Quilt as You Go (QAYG) method? You can quilt and sew the blocks together bit by bit. I thought of you when watching this video (perhaps you already follow her). ruclips.net/video/7qBvUaJ5m1U/видео.html

I have considered it and I personally don't enjoy it. Getting a neat joining seam escapes me at the minute, but not to say I'll never do it again. Thanks for the link I will check it out!

Your quilting lines are so faint I can barely visible.

Do you mean my drawn lines or the sewn lines? The pen can be a little hard to see on camera. It gets darker after you draw the line, it's one of those appearing pencils.
