As your getting further into this magnificent chateau my teeth are on edge I'm being totally honest and I apologise to anyone who I offend But inside is horrendous, garish, loud What an absolute gem waiting to be reborn so so sad x😢
Ed, so tactfully, kept describing the decor as "eclectic", which made me chuckle. Eclectic is the polite word to describe "Nightmarish Decor", complete with Chairman Mao. Awesome chateau with so much beautiful potential. I agree with Anna's amazement over all those stained and leaded glass windows! Ed is also right about removing the ill-conceived pool to enhance the approach.
The outside of the chateau is beautiful all the old world charm you would expect for a building of it’s status, but inside decoration lets it down, I hope the next owner will restore it back to it’s former glory
Ed, I have to give you compliments on how much you restrained yourself through this walkthrough. It's an absolute travesty what they have done to this amazingly gorgeous and historical building. Please buy it and fix it! I know you guys can do it but I know you also have another project that you're already working on. This chateau deserves a savior, and quick!
I can always appreciate how tactful Anna and Edd are about others tastes. Personally I would love to see what Edd and Anna would do with this place as their next project!
Paint the walls, polish up the floor and change the window dressings, the place would be so different. People judging a building on decor have no imagination… Anna would have a field day selecting what does and doesn’t work in a place like this ☺️
OMG. That is the chateau of my dreams. It has so much potential. This is by far the best chateau you have shown us. I wish I had the money to buy it right now. I would buy it sight unseen.
Knowing that you are looking for a family home - I hope you choose this! ❤ Would love to see how you would transform this! The windows are amazing! Restored back to more original, this would be such a treasure!
I love your recommendations for changes to the chateau and grounds. It has beautiful features. If it were me I'd have to factor in $$$ to remove all the paint and such from walls/fireplaces to bring it to its natural beauty. If you were into horses It would be nice to see if the separate structure could be made into stables as it's perfectly situated with pastures and access to house. I love Ed's sweatshirt with dragon/griffon? But mostly, love you both and thanks for showing this lovely property. 🥰😘
Bonjour Anna and Edd, I really like this Chateau, finally one that can be renovated, and I could still be alive to enjoy it. I agree about removing the pool, I would make the top floor the owner's apartment, if the chateau would be used as a business. I love the windows, floors, fireplaces and the chandeliers, the only thing to do is bring it back to the 18 & 19th century look. Otherwise very nice. Love from N.Y.
I do love the quirkiness, artfulness, and unpredictability of this "eclectic decor" 😊But I'm sure Anna and Edd could renovate with beauty and class. The place is vast! I love the tower bar, the leaded windows, and especially the exterior fairytale architecture . Do it, guys 😊
Great potential! I agree that the pool is a jarring note as you approach the chateau. Although the present decor is, in places, dreadful, there are a lot of period features that could be restored and celebrated. I would not paint the natural wood beams on the ceiling! It's very clever to use the turrets for bathroom spaces. How much land is with the chateau? It does appear that the major work has been done and that the buyer's tasks would be largely cosmetic.
What a beautiful chateau. ❤️🌹 Praying someday I will own one. 😌🙏🇨🇦. My question is, not too crazy about the electrical fence, safety issues. Can a fence be built ?? Not 2.5 million but maybe 1.78 million.
It has been mostly lived in for its life. And most things have been maintained which put you ahead in the renovation game. Having a good roof & central heat & air is definitely a plus.
If I didnt know better, I"d say this looks like a "hippy den" decorated after being "spaced out" for a week!! The main structure is fantastic. The location is fantastic. The opportunities there are fantastic. The price is fantastic for its size. I wish I was 30 yrs younger and rich!
The Chateau itself is gorgeous. It's too bad it was decorated for Halloween. I hope whoever buys it can do it justice. Are you Anna and Edd,ready for a new project! I think this place needs your personal touch to give it its dignity back. Thanks again for the tour ❤
What a beautiful chateau. But the interior ! 😵 if there was any justice, they could charge the, "decorators", with a felony ! It looks like an explosion in a paint factory, under the direction of the Mad Hatter, just after a generous dose of magic mushrooms ! Ed and Anna's carefully constructed comments were a testimony of tact and diplomacy. I seriously hope someone rescues this beautiful damsel, and restores it to its glory.
you are totally right... "SOME" parts of this chateau are beautiful 🤣 . I cannot get over the fact, that they painted the walls black-ish... I like these "house" tours. please carry on if you also like them
Ed loved the exterior of this building. Inside looked like everything needed some work. If you and Anna decide to buy it I'm sure you two could bring it back to it's earlier glory.
Thank you for taking us to see this chateau. It’s stunning from the outside, the windows are beautiful, I’m sure there are wonderful features inside including the woodwork of the staircase and fireplaces but it’s screaming for someone new to bring it back to its original beauty. The pool could be turned into fountains with beautiful boxwood gardens around it and the driveway entrance around it. You can build a swimming pool at the back of the house. It’s great that the roof is in well maintained shape and a new heating system.
This is a steal of a deal! It's for sure liveable I'd keep the pool in front add formal garden and place a parking lot further back surrounded by trees to keep the quietness of the place.
Lovely chateau. Seems to have good bones. Would be fun to re-decorate and give it a new look. I agree with Ed about creating a grander entrance - moving pool & patio to the rear.
You have to wonder which country's navy found there was a shortage of grey to paint their battleships with. Edd describing the decoration as eclectic was very diplomatic for a Manc.
Lovely place that’s been spoiled a bit I think, so many bedrooms with just transparent curtains between them, perhaps a swingers paradise. I would use the building to renovate into a massive garage for my Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin cars and if room, a tractor or 2 for the lawns.
Edd and Anna, thank you for bringing us along on this chateau tour. I would have to disagree with initial Ed's assessment however, that it is a work of art. That for certain, it is not. What began as a breathtakingly beautiful chateau on the exterior was transformed as we stepped inside as Edd led us from room to room. The interiors were an affront to all that is beautiful and delightful to the eye. Every square inch of every room in this extraordinary chateau needs a miracle cure with careful attention to its history and intended elegance. My heart was crushed as Edd continued the tour, Freddy Kruger couldn't have done a worse job in this "Nightmare on Elm Street" horror story. I can only hope that the next owner will restore this magnificant chateau to the splendor it so justly deserves.
Lol! The decor is “personal taste”. You were both very respectful and tactful. That home has amazing bones and if it was sympathetically restored, it would be incredible!
How delightful that was! Imagine the thrill of calling that home. Loved all Edd’s ideas. Anna is brave to climb those ladders and thanks for the excellent camera coverage as we discover all the wonders. Those turrets are extra special for sure. The stone looks to be the same as the house you are currently working on, local stone I imagine.
Fancy script.. Calligraphy... Beautiful chateau.. thank you for the tour. All those leaded glass windows with coloured glass.. sign of wealth to have coloured glass! Pool outback.. be careful about where the ceptic system is. Anna so creative with your filming
What a gorgeous chateau! From what you, Edd and Anna, have commented during the tour, it seems like the most historically and architecturally significant features have not been irretrievably damaged/harmed. The floors, ceilings, original tiling, chandeliers, windows (for sure!), turrets, staircases and woodwork are amazing. The spacious layout, as you noted, presents so many possibilities. Love the exterior architecture, and given the history of the construction/reconstruction over many years, the overall style appears quite harmonious. The property is lovely. Truly enjoyed your reactions and comments and your suggestions for enhancing the entrance, parking, and use of the back and side yards are very insightful. For a chateau in this well-preserved condition, on a spacious parcel, in a beautiful location, with a new heating system and roofing maintained properly, the price seems very reasonable.
Thank you for showing us round this beautiful place it still as the wonderful features and lots of history, decorating can be changed the floors and those beautiful windows could not be bought. I agree about the swimming pool been moved to the back. The only thing for me was the main staircase the wood looks very new might be wrong but even the spangles don’t look aged, but maybe the main staircase was in too much of a state to be saved, I might be wrong, see you soon bye from Lynda ❤❤
As your getting further into this magnificent chateau my teeth are on edge I'm being totally honest and I apologise to anyone who I offend But inside is horrendous, garish, loud What an absolute gem waiting to be reborn so so sad x😢
The cheap Walmart carpets and oil cloth are horrible! Even for a modest American home.
Well-paid!
It’s almost impossible to decorate worst and spoiling the style of the chateau as this madness.decoration
Do anyone has to swing to enter in the château?😮😅😂😂
It looks like a frat house really. Sorry but horrible decor.
this poor place has been abused! you were very kind about the place. Love the fireplace in the kitchen and the windows
Gorgeous chateau , GREAT BONES ! Hideous decor haha
I agree! Wanted to cry at the interior 😭
Great bones, but a long restoration peeling and refinishing .....Enjoyed watching it...😊
Ed, so tactfully, kept describing the decor as "eclectic", which made me chuckle. Eclectic is the polite word to describe "Nightmarish Decor", complete with Chairman Mao. Pool in front koi pond leave it there. Parking around,

Oh, I get it. 😅
@@philipbutler6608 With a statue or two & a spray fountain❤! Gravel walkway looping around it, maybe parking on either side a bit away from it
Looks like a porn set?
The chateau is a gem waiting to be transformed to its original glory.
Stunning facade But inside is terrible but it has so so much potential Go on buy it and work your magic This could be a jewel ❤

Agreed! SMH!
It looks like somewhere they hold swingers parties 😂
The top floor! 😂

I was thinking adult movie sets.😅
@@michelehopwood9765 exactly what I was thinking.
Omg I was thinking this is a bordello! I’m glad someone else was thinking it too lol
I can always appreciate how tactful Anna and Edd are about others tastes. Personally I would love to see what Edd and Anna would do with this place as their next project!
What a job to clean this up!
You should both buy it! And bring it back to life, it's an amazing Chateau.
I reckon if they could buy it because its a great setup and u do not see windows like that .
Paint the walls, polish up the floor and change the window dressings, the place would be so different. People judging a building on decor have no imagination…
Anna would have a field day selecting what does and doesn’t work in a place like this ☺️
Stunning chateau. Hope whoever purchases can restore and bring it all together to most of its original look. Beautiful.
The outside is beautiful but I would have to change all the inside ❤
OMG. That is the chateau of my dreams. It has so much potential. This is by far the best chateau you have shown us. I wish I had the money to buy it right now. I would buy it sight unseen.
I can hear that château, screaming, in agony for what they’ve done to it
me too, just awfull
Me too 😢, it's still screaming 💔
@@Kim-J312It’s very tatty and almost squatters rights there.
If I wasn't in my late 50's I might be interested. Would love a project that goes on for years like that.
Fabulous chateau just crying out for your touch Edd and Anna
Knowing that you are looking for a family home - I hope you choose this! ❤ Would love to see how you would transform this! The windows are amazing! Restored back to more original, this would be such a treasure!
Well that building was one of my favourite.. minus the decor

You are very kind to call the decorating ecelectic - it's more of a disaster! But the bones...
Depending on the price...this is a perfect property to flip!
Eclectic is an understatement!!
To see it restored back to period it would be stunning.
Bonjour Anna and Edd, I really like this Chateau, finally one that can be renovated, and I could still be alive to enjoy it. The chateaus original features are beautiful. This chateau definitely needs a decorators touch…oh my!
The chateau is the work of art in itself. The decor style the owner has chosen is at odds with the building. They don't mesh.
Chateau looks amazing. All the expensive items are in good order. That's a bonus
Beautiful Chateau, just needs some warmth putting back into it. The fireplaces are stunning. It's just gorgeous. 😊🏴
It’s lovely.
(Would change out interior black paint ASAP)

enough with toxic positivity!
Huh? I don't get it...are you joking or just being mean? 😨
Your comments were very diplomatic regarding the decor. Appears to have been decorated by first year undergraduate students on a limited DIY budget!
The pool would be beautiful with lit up fountains in it. Thanks, guys!❤
❤😊oh love that one. Great fixer upper😊
I agree with Edd lots of potential there.
Those windows will make that room a showcase.

Beautiful chateau (excluding the interior 😅). There's potential. Hopefully someone buys it and brings back the amazing, original features.
One thing I like about this chateau is that there isn’t the sense of antiquity that must be protected and saved. That is surely easier to deal with.
live that Château!! It looks like a fairy tale, Castle.
