Edd would have this place finished in a year! that’s no joke! 😂
🤣🤣🤣
You guys can do it as a joint venture.
💯
@@maryp2747100% watching that ✌️
Has he got access to Yanis🤣🤣
It’s a lot of work and will be very expensive.
Doesn’t have much character in the inside.Purchase price isn’t cheap and you need a lot of money to restore the place, even when doing it yourself. But then, Dan bought a burnt out chateau without a roof and trees growing in it and his renovation is progressing nicely.
Dan's building has character and an extremely valuable history, even in the burnt out state. This is just some derelict farmhouse. Not for me.
@@stephen9518farm house? 😂 thanks for your wonderfully uneducated insight into this history chateau 👍🏼
Noggins!
@artfx9 😃😃 ask Dan about noggins, lol 😆
@@paulb1951 Thats all it is, its far from being a true Chateau, its a simple farm house with lots of outbuildings all joined together, something you would have found all through France and Spain
Anna's right...so much potential but so much work!!
The wall of wine vats are architecturally stunning. I would leave them alone.
So would I , put wall lights on them and would be stunning at night
May the creativity flow!
I would two-tone paint them with painted scrolls, birds and flowers. Sorry, The Monet in me.
Ed and Anna, I love it when you take us out with you to look at other properties!❤
I love how much you appreciate these old structures! Your enthusiasm is contagious;
You have such a loving and caring husband!! I love the way he makes sure you are always safe no matter what part you are exploring!
You Anna take great videos!! Thankyou!!
💯
I love this to , what a beautiful family they are ❤
Anna has the same vision as Ed. What a team!
Edd, you’re so right. The possibilities are endless. Beautiful property. Thanks for the opportunity to view.
Being a farmer loved the old sheds and the very old cowshed now u do not see those head stalls every day and i for one would not take them out i would keep them and do that shed up . Wow . Main house could be stunning i would make that room woth the stone sink a big kitchen everyday dining area and then have a more upper class dining room somewhere else . Beautiful place i hope they do bring the price as u can buy a Chateau thats liveable for that price .
I was also taken by the agricultural spaces! Can you imagine when it was all operating every day? The house itself - not so much. But I live in Nebraska. 😉 Lots of appreciation for a good, solid barn.
Ed has a manic desire to redo everything, attics, basements and even outbuildings, for living! 😂
I think this place is perfect for Ed and Anna. They both have such an appreciation for the character that they could bring to this property which I am not sure others would be able to do.
I really hope you ,Ed and Ana purchase this one!it would be such a pleasure to see what you do with it
I get it when Edd says that this is an honest building. This property can be a wellness hotel and spa.
It needs restoration more than renovation. Instead of taking out the wine press and vats, leave them and make that a restaurant and a pub with tables in the courtyard, that porch off what I think was the kitchen could be a greenhouse of sorts to grow herbs and veggies to serve the guests. Yes, rooms to stay overnight and gites for sure. It would make an astounding attraction. The only renovation would be where the cows, horses and pigs were kept. If you do buy it that is my recommendation.
I keep thinking this building is straight out of an Historical French movie! 😅😅😅😅
Jacuzzi was my first thought too, lol. Extra large room as well.
Maybe an indoor pool ???
The courtyard, just inside the arched entrance drive, needs horses wandering around 😊
The drive up to the arched entrance, should Curve Around a central Round corral, centered on the arched entrance. Add a couple more trees around the coral for shade. 🐴 🌳
Ed’s an architect by experience if not actually. He’s a perfectionist with skill. Amazing man!
Love the cattle bran . Hope the new owners keep it . History . Shame to loss it . Great guys thank you
For the right person the possibilities are endless. It’s got the potential to be an awesome place. Thank you for sharing ❤
The wine Vats wall I think should become part of the room design.
Exactly 💯
I hope the buyer contacts you and starts a RUclips channel to follow this reno. Please make it so.
I swear when ‘the secret door’ was opened I could hear little kids giggling, running through as they play a game of hide and seek in their early 1900’s garb. 💝
Absolutely gorgeous place. I love that I’ve found a channel that has the same type of reno brain I have. I can absolutely see the potential of any place. Breathing life back into these older places is so rewarding.
It’s my first time seeing a chateau that looks more farm house-ish . Nice though if I had the money . Thanks Ed for taking the time out to show us this. Have a blessed rest of the week and weekend my darlings 🙏🏽👌🏾♥️
I 😊 think 🎉 you guys should buy this place! It will keep you busy for at least the next few years! All of us are ready for you to pull the trigger and buy it! Villna II, here we come! All the best! Thomas!
The wine press can be converted into a bar and the room can be used as an entertainment room for guests to use and socialize.
I commented the same above. Great minds!.
The Realtor photos with the greenery cut back really give a great impression of the set up, I love the central courtyard feature…..oh if only I were 40 years younger and wiser then than I was………
Intelligence is not Knowledge, but Imagination. And you both have that for sure.
The Chateau is big enough to have your children's families live there. It would take at least a million and a half dollars to renovate it as a DIY and a subcontractor working on that exterior wall, roofs and stairways repairs. I would renovate the outbuildings first then rent them for ten years, minimum. It is a charming place, thanks for bringing us along.
These are the times I wish I was 50 years younger. I would get that place on a dime. (The buffet in the first room beautiful). First clear the trees and bushes. Second sweep up and remove rubble. Third measure and put on paper every room and size. Forth secure roof for protection and then sleep on it for a few days
Phew thank you for the tour, who ever buys this its more than a weekends DIY project
You are certainly an intrepid videographer, Anna❣ Thanks for showing us this amazing property. With the right owners it could be a bustling location. Hope your back is doing better, Edd. 💕
The main stair railing was beautiful.
Anna I have a feeling Ed wants to buy this place. Its a lot for the money and there a lot of work.
This is a project for young couple or older couple who can afford paying for the reno workers. I can see it as a wellness spa. It has so much potential. Thanks for sharing.❤
Ed, The Chateau is incredible! It would take a crack crew a few years to finish her. The roof and corner masonry would be first order of business..Without a sound roof, your just camping. I would love to view pictures of the place in its glory days.Just subscribed. Ross from Chicago.
Edd the wine press MUST STAY! It's your future tasting room. The wine press could be actually used for demonstrations. The bread over becomes the new bakery. I'M IN LOVE ❤️ You gotta buy this!! Heck Louis can move his hat shop here too! Couple of restaurants and a pizza restaurant. Several daily rentals. A couple of monthly rentals.... my mind is raging with ideas!!
well said!
You make us see a vision of what is possible you bring it to life.
The Wine room with the large tanks and press would make a FANTASTIC cafe setting ! Do NOT remove the large colorful tanks . Polish them up ! what an amazing feature ! In Fact ALL the out buildings would be a wonderful income producer if you opened it up to the public for weddings -n- such , a ballroom , cafe , gardens , events . wow !
Hi Anna and Edd , that place looks massive with a massive price tag and enormous potential ! A few years worth of work and a money pit!!
Thanks for sharing
Love and respect from Canada
❤🇨🇦 ❤🇨🇦❤️
The horse stable would be great for a cozy ramantic restaurant, i think with an open kitchen.
One of Edd's understatements! "It's got potential".😀
I'm thinking a family of three or 4 siblings with partners could all make separate dwellings plus a common space, maybe keep the main house for all the older generation to live in as they need to.
Or Ed and Anna for their next but one project!
Yes, a really interesting tour.
I didn't read all 300+ comments, so someone may have already mentioned that those are towers, not turrets.
A turret is a rounded room attached to the building, not starting at the ground.
I hope someone buys and rescues this amazing property. It’s a wonderful part of history the barn with the remnants of a cowshed for instance with individual stalls, the marble fireplaces, little round windows, the front doors. Such a massive property. Thank you Ed and Anna it was a terrrific tour ❤🙌🤩
You weren't kidding about the potential of that place - it just goes on and on! So much you could do with it!
The wine press would be a wonderful place to set up tables and have luncheons and outside music. And, bottled wine.
Hi, Anna and Edd !
Just wanted to let, Edd, know that in English is called a Pigsty a small outdoor enclosure where you raise domestic pigs as livestock.
Also sometimes referred as a pig pen.
This property is unreal... so large and sprawling. This could be made awesomely beautiful. I hope you all purchase and take on this project to give this a new life. I love that wall paper too!!! Yes there will be something great!!! lol Yes, nice storage space. Yes the staircase is awesomely beautiful!!! This could be made so beautiful. Yes this could be amazing. Yes that is a lot and this could be made beautiful. All the best!
I would leave the big vats for ambiance with the tables and servers for huge luncheons. They could be painted to clean them up.
Ed and Anna,
Huge potential, Next project, talk them down in price!!! I could see thousands of us watching this renovation! Buy It😊😊😊
Edd, Anna, The stair well is beautiful. I hope someone who buys it will keep a lot of the old in it.
I applaud you both for seeing the potential. There’s way too much space for the imagination for me. I’d love to know more about the history and the surroundings.
The wine press could be a Beautiful planter use the room for events? And that wall of wine vats could have beautiful mural in each one maybe a scene of the vineyards ? This is exciting!
Ed can always see a potential on a building and grounds. For the life of me I can not. Anna you and Ed and look at places and tell immediately what you can do with it, amazing. I love it when you take us with you and look around. Have a lovely day.
❤ STUNNING, PLEASE ED & ANNA BUY IT. I THINK YOU WILL HAVE IT UP & RUNNING IN NO TIME. Love 🥰 ALL YOUR WORK. Australia 🇦🇺. 🕊️
What an amazing project! It's a shame it 's so vandalized! Imagine having all the fire places intact! Wow!
If I had enough money for the purchase AND the renovation, yes, without a doubt.
Very very interesting. I see the potential. Cleaned up the grounds can be amazing!
That would be such a good project. Lots of hard work but exciting too.
I am dissapointed in some of the negative comments. I live in South Manchester and there are there bed semi's in not much better condition going for that price in UK Pounds, and the only view is other peoples houses all piled on top of each other. This is a beautiful building, so much space and surrounded by countryside. There is so much scope for holiday lets in the out buildings to claw back some of that money spend restoring it. As people said, if there isn't much character then start again and make one, or make it nice and modern, you have all the options. My only issue with taking on something like this is I was very poor at French when I was at school, I don't think I'd be much better now.
Anna - I understand you are a little reluctant when "quick-Ed" lures him with transparency. 🤣
Amazing place.
So many spaces!
It is curious that the fancy staircase goes up to just a loft space.
You would think a plainer staircase would be leading to a loft.
Much work. So much potential!
I would love to buy this place and redo it. I saw this video when you guys first posted it. It does have so much potential. I watched it again because I thought it might help the channel. I’d like it again if I could. LOL.
What an amazing property. Definitely needs a lot of work. Hope someone buys it and restores it to its former glory. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Thanks for sharing
If my project I would keep all the wine making equipment restore it and then turn this place into a winery and hotel
Beautiful buildings and property! I loved the tour! Thank you all! Be well, stay safe all. 💞🥰👍
Edd and Anna,
I couldn't help but think that this place could be a little village on it's own, Or a grand hotel.. It would need to be a money maker ! 😢
Murals would fit in the arches in the reinforced vat room.
❤ I expect you have bought it , as you & Anna wouldn’t waste your time or ours videoing it. Ed you can do wonders with this beautiful place as your taste & Anna’s is impeccable. Can not wait for the ‘The Next Adventure ‘ . 💞 Love to you ALL Australia 🇦🇺 🥰 🕊️.
Please keep the « elephant in the room « it’s beautiful, just finished it around it!
I would like to give you a 👍 for property, it has a lot of potential for restoration.
Wonderful tour, thank you! If I had enough money to throw into a project this is the kind of place I would like :) We don't have places in New Zealand like this.
Very interesting and you did a great job anna catching up all the time with superman edd lol. . Thankyou for the trip. 🤗
Thanks Ed and Anna for the lovely visit ❤
I love the entrance and the porch. I thinks it's more a fortified type farm than a Chateau. Maybe called a chateau because it was attached to a vineyard.
Wow Edd/ Anna, there is much sq. feet for at least 30 or more apartments/flats/townhouses just with the out buildings, That you could create a French village in its self and the main house as the administrative building, Inn & and resort 😂
Absolutely beautiful. Buy it, Guys! Buy it!
I really appreciate where I am, when I see this sort of opportunities.
This place Really has Character!! It could be a beautiful bed and breakfast or several apartments + main house..I love it!
It's pretty much a ruin but it could and should be saved. What history.
Not sure how many wows you would need. Thank you so much for taking us on this amazing journey. Through watching your renovations and what Billy does it helps to see the potential. You would just need someone to bankroll the project. 😅x❤😊
Having lived through the 1970s, that wallpaper.... When Edd asked Anna what she thought was on the top floor I said, "Rolls of orange metallic wallpaper!" At least there is no shag carpet. 🤦♀ It could be an amazing site for so many purposes, but someone would need to come up with another $700,000 to have the roofs, beams, electric, plumbing (ONE? toilet???), windows, insulation, floors, and that rear corner masonry contracted to be redone. A great project for an investor. I could see it as a series of gites or full-time apartments for people aged 50+ who shared communal areas (the wine press area) and perhaps some equestrian boarding. Probably too far away from major cities for a restaurant to succeed. It could be quite magnificent again!
That stair case is beautiful. Get tracing paper and flash light. Trace design the use tracing paper on your wood then jig saw.
Oh my word what a joy to renovate. A great place to turn into a onsite business of gites and ??? I am like Edd I see the potential in these type of projects. How exciting it would be to take it on. A whole lot of work but wow the finished project would be stunning. Canadians call the boards at the base of the walls and sitting on the floor, baseboards.
Baseboards in US, too.
I kept waiting for impressive remnants to the interior and it was not there. But for a blank canvas, you could update to your taste. It seems like more of a working location around wine and animals.
Tumble dryer Anna you don’t want to climb those stairs 😮just tempting you guys years of content for us!
Thanks Ed and Anna! Thar was a very nice tour!
Such a lot of potential, needs such a lot of thought and money, I’m sure you both have a vision how it will look and if anyone can you can do it😂
I think the property would make a nice restaurant. I could see the wine press turned into a bar area and the tall tanks cleaned and polished and left for ambient decoration in a casual but classy seating area. The walls in the other room could be restored and used as a more formal sitting area for private parties. And the outside areas could be used for outdoor seating al fresco, rain or shine since it has a roof.
Nope - not for this price. Having done quite some renovations in France I estimate a renovation cost of between 400-600k for a very basic renovation. If you want a more sophisticated renovation, count at least the double.
Its first chateau with wine product......❤❤❤❤❤ Very Very Potensial Invest.....
Jacuzzi was my first thought too 👍.
That room is so large, maybe an indoor pool ?
The enterance drive up to the arched entrance, should curve around a round coral that is centered on the entrance.
Add a few more trees around the coral to shade the horses 🐴 🌳
The buildings themselves are very dark and will need alot of new windows. But its a great unique property with so much potential.
I can see it as a Riding School / Equestrian Facility, with living and boarding spaces.
P.S. the wine vats. I like them.
I'd keep them and use them as a historical feature, maybe even Trompe l'oeil those arched panels ❤
Maybe at 339,000 and a TON OF RUclips VLOGS. 😊😊
Very nice video. I love that staircase. Cleaned and refinished, it would look gorgeous.
I miss Louis!😢❤
the wine vats are spectacular.❤
So many possibilities for multi family living, or business space.
I live in Missouri USA. We call the way from the front door to the back down the center a dog trot. Made So, the 2:52 dogs could run tbrough.
Edd and Anna, thanks for the guided tour. I really enjoyed the look around.👍
For me……… I would renovate the main house and just leave the outbuildings as they are, tidy the grounds and possibly change the entrance driveway as Edd suggested. Then just sit, open a bottle of wine and chill.
Edd and Anna, would love to see this place renovated hope you both get this place to see it restored but if not can you keep us updated when someone purchase it love to see it restored!
The property is beautiful. And I love the terra-cotta roof tiles. I wouldn’t replace them with slate as much as I like slate generally. And I didn’t like your idea of plastering those beautiful, timbered roof struts, in fact, I didn’t like any of your renovation ideas at all, lol. But since I can’t afford any of this, it really doesn’t matter. Thank you for the tour, though. I really enjoyed looking through such a gorgeous property. 😊
That place could be turned into a whole load of holiday apartments. You could turn the old bakery into a cafe for the visitors. If it's been on the market for a while, I'd start with an offer of around 475k€ and possibly go to 540k€. Put 450k€ into the renovations and rebuilding and you could end up looking at making 1000€/week for holiday lets.
It's a beautiful property and definitely deserves to be brought back to life. It's just shocking that so many places are being left to fall apart all over the world.
