In possession, he is a natural 6 for Slot. There was a question mark by Gravenberch's name regarding defensive duties last season, but it takes a lot of football intelligence to get the balance right when playing in the 8 position for Klopp. (It took Gini Wijnaldum almost two years at Anfield before he blossomed.). Honestly, I think the defensive side of a 6 role for Slot is much easier to understand than the defensive role of an 8 for Klopp. It is the possession side of Slot's 6 that can be hard, and Ryan seems to not have any difficulty with that. Against Man United where Ryan will have to track Bruno Fernandez, that will be a real test.
In 2008 I had a massive stroke which caused me with severe brain damage which caused me to lose my ability to speak And you can talk very fast and you know what you are talking about And I would like to to meet you and mark ❓
@@SkywalkerXxX Imagine thinking supporting a teams means you can’t be a fan of the game first and foremost and therefore cover everything football related 😂
Liverpool fans don't hate Gravenberch, Alice. Last year he was acclimatizing in a new team in a new system under Klopp, and still had a good G/A return last season. Slot's style definitely suits him better and the team setup gives him more time and space to play. He also got a standing ovation when he was subbed off, we are warming to him very well.
Nobody who likes football could possibly hate Grav, he has big talent & potential. He's not even filled out physically yet, when he does he will be very solid anywhere in midfield.
Trent doing this good at only 80-85% of what he can.. We saw it 2 seasons ago, i hope he gets back to that form again if he ever wanna be Captain and we know he wants to
Another excellent video, Alicie I'm a Luverpool fan and I'm a scouser for my sins, but keep them coming Alice your football knowledge is brilliant so fair play to you.
fantastic one Alice. Really good mentioning how Trent combined well with Salah and Dom to create problems for the opponent down the right hand side with his passing ability and movement
Gravenberch was mentioned along with Bellingham back in the day, then he went to Berlin which was shit for him, if he get's back to his best we have a bargain superstar....play him where ever we'll get the best out of him...where ever he likes lol
Great analysis as always. In one of Arne's post match interviews he seemed to indicate he's given Trent a free role so he can chose to invert or go out wide as he reads the game and the rest of the team have to adapt to cover/support for him. He sounds like he is really unlocking his full potential. Gravenberch really impressed me. In the first game I was concerned at the number of fouls he gave away but he did well in possession. This game he looked a more complete DM. Not only linking the play, being press resistant and making key passes but winning the ball back repeatedly and fouling much less. He was also able to drive forward with the ball on a few occasions. He was everywhere and put in a real shift.
Alice don't worry about your spelling or grammar just love your analysis something to look forward too .. one of the best on football anywhere on RUclips
excellent analysis and by far the best that is out there at the moment - I look forward to your streams as they are thorough and detailed and it's great to see the effort you put in, it's second to none. Keep it up please and as a Liverpool supporter, I can't wait for the next one and that's not because it's against Man Utd, it's because you do such a great job. Well done Alice
Alice your comments are one of the first things I look forward to hearing after a Liverpool game. You break down and explain the game so well, thank you!! For us, I feel Gravenberch had such a great game (unsung for the most part) but absolutely solid in that no. 6 role. I really really wanna see him succeed there - he's a very intelligent, strong and technically gifted person player (and he's quick too!) He can really form a good core of our team with VVD, TAA, Dom, Salah, Macca and Alisson. Diaz I think deserved his MOTM award, fantastic performance from the man. Trent amazing as always! Salah seems to be going from strength to strength this season. But I'm most looking forward to seeing Dom really marshaling that midfield and pulling the strings, what a match he had as well. The work rate, the duels the combining with others and his leadership. I'm thinking we might be better off without a new signing - our team is cruising!
I can't wait for your analysis next week, Alice! However, I don't think you have much to believe that your team will beat LFC next week. Great job as usual, see you next week 😢
Always love your analysis. Your honesty as a Man United fan is insanely respectable. Hard for me to imagine showing the same in return. Shows just how much you love the game itself. Props.
Speaking of Trent, what’s most shocking to me is that he appears to have gotten the mental lapses in defense and tracking back out of his game. All too often he would not identify danger quickly enough, or not track back fast…but both games I’ve noticed that he is becoming the first player back in transition and is really putting in effort to get back into position. Also, I’m noticing that he’s playing fewer diagonal balls and instead is finding incisive vertical passes into RW/RCM/CAM. That’s HUGE because of the compactness of the press that Slot demands. If Trent is looking for diagonal balls to the LW/LB and the other team picks up possession, then there is no numerical advantage on the far side and the press cannot happen. By playing vertical balls predominantly in the central and right 1/3rd of the pitch, it creates numerical advantages in both offense and defense. He really has stepped up this season.
Someone should mention Robbo, played well, combined well with Diaz, almost scored a header from an overhead kick from Jota and pocketed Mbeumo all game!
I'm a lfc fan and dissagry with the secret squirrel theory with Alice. She is a man u fan . But her content is so inellingtly put together without bais u gotta take a min to think what a commitment that is ❤❤❤
What impressed me most with Diaz today is he made the right choices in the final third. What is so frustrating to me normally is he’ll rather take on 2 men than pass or he’ll take a shot when he’s meant to pass and it’s been so irritating at times but his decision making today was excellent so I’m hoping that is a positive change that we see more of
Totally right on the point about being compact and controlled when winning. My biggest and only criticism of Klopps side last season was the lack of control and seeing out a win when in a winning position. Looking positive, still need a transfer or two to compete with Arsenal and City
Klopp did play passionate heavy metal football as he was employed by teams that didn't have, in general, the financial clout and needed to have that balls to the wall playing style but, although we had some success, this style of playing knackered up the players and we probably would do better to have a bit more control and a breather in the game for overall stability in the long term, I'm really enjoying seeing the players thinking a bit more about what they do, it will greatly improve the whole squad over time....nice on Alice, we'll sing a song for you! YNWA!
Trent looks like he has a point to prove to me, working harder, better defensively than usual, could Diaz be on a for a breakout season, puts himself on the world stage?
Alice's presentation and analysis is top notch. You put the others to shame. Even the proper media ones. I am always annoyed by them. Well done. Keep up the good work!
You are absolutely right. Slot said in a interview that he wants the team to evaluate the situation. Sometimes you don't need to go full storm ahead. Ans that's not only the last five minutes bout in every situation. If you don't lose the ball you don't need to press to get it back.
That precision in passing and control of the game seems a visit card of Arne Slot. That pressure when you expect key pass to gone through is amazing 🤩 Finally no unwanted crosses or no risks in crucial passes. Mo should go next season ( Jared Bowen would be a dream signing )

Best I've seen Szoboszlai since he's been at Liverpool. Also good to see the the front line working together. Jota is making a big difference.
what have you been watching bro? Szoboszlai was the worst Liverpool player today, but you know this - Go fish...lol

The real test for Gravenberch in that role will be this coming Sunday at United.
Very adept breakdown. There is certain a risk/reward lever that has taken down a notch or two since Slot took over. We look very stable in defence, also people coming back quickly to defend if we do lose a ball in transition. It comes at a cost vis a vis under Klopp, where opportunities aren't sought as frequently, and they rather back pass and manage control, like we would under Klopp when we tried to control games that we were winning.
If we include the pre-season games, we have been as lethal as our best spells under Klopp on the counter attack. In fact most of our goals have come from counter attacks, against Utd as a prime example. It's early days, but you can see a more controlled environment, but it is not without lethality either, which it could be at times under Klopp, when we couldn't penetrate low blocks.
Gravenberch has come into his right and has blossomed, and I hope Mac Allister and Szoboszlai will follow suit. The latter has been pretty decent, at times great, but it still feels like he plays with a handbrake from his best spells at LFC.
