How to Add TEXTURE with EGGSHELLS (part 2 of 2) will be uploaded soon. Please check back shortly. Хобби
Since we recycle our food scraps into our gardens I 'clean' the egg shells before they go into the compost bucket. To remove the membrane from shells I dump the shells into soapy water, let sit for few minutes and then rub with finger or thumb the membrane from inside the shell. Easy and quick and should do the job for use in your texture art. Enjoyed the video and the ideas. thanks for sharing.
Imagine glowing me, outside of your glue.
I luv your eggshell on canvas work.
I am a firm believer in using various medium to produce art. Mother nature has bestowed upon personkind so much materials we can use to produce beautiful art.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful works.
Oh Lordy Girl, Don't stop now. I'm very into using canvas over journals and you are helping my brain cramps. Not enough canvas videos. Keep the ideas flowing. These shells could be put down in white a bit smaller and flatter as mosaic in strategic areas and other art still filling the balance of the canvas. Oh I forgot to say instead of heavy acrylics, if they were white they could be colored with watercolor, inktense or a couple secrets up my sleeve. I love what you're doing here. Just quit cutting the sound out on those bathtub singers. That's adorable.
Love it!! Thank you for making the video and sharing the technique. Keep on making the videos. I'm a beginner. They are inspiring.
What a painstaking yet fruitful labor of love!! Beautiful, thanks for sharing!
I have been going thru all diff sites and you have more than anyone and so eaisy to follow. Keep them interesting and easy enough for everyone. Your great at this!
Thank you for sharing this technique. I learned something new that I will surely use in my artwork now and for years to come. Greatly appreciated!

Thank you Amy. A great way to get the depth look. I love creative thinking. Thanks for sharing.
Mike
You gave people to open up their thoughts !!!!
I loved it
Before watching this I collected eggshells and I already had the skin out of the shells. I just took the skin out while the eggshells were still hot. The same as I remember way back when we used eggshells for easter crafts. You may find other ideas if you search easter egg crafts somewhere online. After watching: did this same stuff when I was a kid. Makes great for a sandy beach painting and great for easter baskets in a painting, tulips are beautiful done with eggshells. Thanks
I absolutely loved this look and cannot wait to try it too. thank you for the inspiration!

Beautiful! Love the texture.
I just discovered your channel, this is awesome! I saw a video last night about using egg shells. This girl ground up some egg shells, and she sprinkled it in between the big ones. It was a really cool effect.
Love love love it! I will definitely watch your other videos ! Thank you
Love it. I can't wait to try it and I WILL!!! Thank you for sharing.
What a neat idea! Definitely something to mess around with. Thank you for the great tutorial.
I started boiling eggs immediately upon seeing this 1st Video. I'm 65 and have Arthritis in both hands and didn't take me long to realize removing that Membrane this way wouldn't work for me. Poured most of the overnight soaking water off and added 1/2 cup bleach (enough to have all the shells covered) and sure enough less than an hour later problem solved. Not one sign of it anywhere on the shells. Put the shell fragments in a strainer and rinsed well then air dried. Perfect now to use as texture.
years ago I did an entire table top in eggshells. What a job! But it turned out beautiful.
Wow wonderful texture and great creativity, kudos , love it
LOVE IT! Thank you for sharing your talent!
Love this technique! Please continue.
Subscribed. I love this technique! Such frugal talent. Genius! While I watched I was envisioning a giant rooster piece with this technique being used for the comb on top of its head. Thank you so much for the inspiring video(s). I am on my way to watch your others! Please, please keep them coming!
I ran hot water inside the shells and it worked great! Just peeled right off! :) I am saving up the egg shells to do this project soon super excited! :D Thank you for sharing the egg shell technique!
Loved the design. Texture rules!
i am excited because have saved lots of egg shells and now have a good idea of what to do with them!
I have to add this to the video. I did a 6' X 6' wall art and the texture was ALL eggshells. And, every time I walk by it I rub my hand on it LOL. Thank you so much for the idea and now I have a TON of dried eggshells ready to use as texture :)
Really cool though labor intensive. I can see using this technique for pebbles on a beach, for dragon scales, for the fruit of various palm trees, for snake skin. So many possibilities with a little creative thinking. Thanks so much Amy!
I can't wait to do this! Thanks for sharing!
Wow! I really loved it! Awesome texture.
this is a really cool idea and think I am going to have to start saving up some egg shells for this idea. thank you for sharing this video.
Awesome texture...looks like reptile/dragon skin..I'm gonna give this a go as soon as I get enough egg shells(my mate has chickens so I can get plenty of free eggs:)...) I am gonna do a dragons eye surrounded by green scales....again awesome texture..cheers from Australia...:)
That is exactly what I thought. It is perfect for a dragon scale look...🐣 Who would a thought.
Amy this is beautiful and really cool!!!! I love the texture it gives and the shoe polish, wow!! I had never even thought to use shoe polish. You give me so many great ideas! I love your videos including this one so thumbs up to you !!

Reeah.
Very cool!! I have never used shoe polish for a wash like that, i will be buying some!
Visiting an artist friend over the holidays who shared your egg shell texture technique. Going to try it.
Adding texture with egg shells was great and very creative.
How does the shoe polish stay on the canvas when you're done? Do you modpodge over the top of the whole painting?
its a lovely piece of art work with the texture and love your creative mind
I loved your technique & your resourcefulness!

Very nice...I also liked it without any colour as in just with egg shells n layers of glue..looked soft n lovely
That came out really nice...Thank you for sharing .
So very cool! Love it.
This was so cool. Thanks for the instructions - very useful.
this is awesome! Thanks and I'm going to try to make one like yours for my bedroom :)
I put shells in bowl of water microwaved for 2 mins. Remioved shells let cool membrane peels right out . Also filled a few medicine bottles with food color and dyed eggs. When hard boiling eggs poke pin hole in end membrane peels off easy and eggs easy to peel
You are really talented. Just WOW!!!!!
I love this, Thank you for doing this video. I am in search to learn about textures...
Rad!!! I love it! totally going to try this

This was totaly awesome!!!
Cool art! Please make more videos out of texture. Great job! 👍🏼
love love love this I'm so trying it thanks for sharing
Thumbs up!!! You are so creative.
This piece is beautiful.
Another way to remove the membrane from the shell. When you empty shell, dip your finger in pure vinegar. Run in the inside of the washed out egg shell, the vinegar is acidic and there's no problem with pushing the membrane out of the shell as well you will be able to tear it out. Hope this is explained well enough. (Jan. 29/15).
This is a great idea, too! Thanks! I'm having a lot of fun with using the eggshells for texture, but this part is definitely time consuming.
+Amy Pearce (Her Art from the Attic) Can you please answer +beetlewing's question in regards to using shoe polish?
"Am I missing something? What's the advantage of shoe polish over just using a black paint wash? How does shoe polish handle additional layers of paint or a clear coat? Don't get me wrong - enjoyed the video."
.
loved the work. nice way of recyling.
Amy, what a great idea.
cool skin texture for a closeup lizard .... Damned i just got the good idéa! :D Thank you so much for the inspiration! :)
great.... i'm gonna do this on my bedroom wall.... love that texture... simple.. but amazing.. :)
Wooow!!So PRETTY!!!
Thanks for posting! This is awesome!!!!
love this,. definitely going to try this out.
Love this. I'll be trying this one, thanks
Very interesting and it looks incredible. Thank you.
Neat & Clever & Beautifull!!! Simply Put.....
the shoe polish is a form of antiquing. I do it on bisque fired pottery, you can also use oil paint, you don't need any turps. The idea is it is worked into the recesses and then you wipe off the surplus. Acrylic paint would not wipe off the raised surface at all well.
Cool idea!!!! This was great - thanks!!!!
That's really beautiful!
That's a really cool technique. Thanks for sharing. :)
