- Alright people?! This time in our pre-Ady UK travel series, we’re back up North to take on one of the most underrated Scotland road trips, the epic South West Coastal 300.
We start this Scotland van life stint near Dumfries and head anti-clockwise along the Solway Coast to the Galloway Peninsula and the most Southerly point in the country.
The sun has got his hat on and it’s beaches galore. Plus we find some of the most epic park up spots we’ve ever seen. Like, showstopping, seriously gorgeous, these are “what we built the van for kind of park ups”.
We also spend the night stargazing at a meteor shower under one of the darkest skies in Europe in the middle of Galloway Forest.
So guys if you’re looking for some inspiration for your next UK travels, sit back and take note.

Really enjoyed watching this xx
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed that. The West coast is beautiful, especially when you have great weather. I’m hungry now after seeing all that lovely food!
Glad you enjoyed it! Definitely one of the most stunning parts of the country 😊
I think you should make a recipe book, the food looks lovely.
Maybe one day! 🤔
Glad you enjoyed that area, love that area. Been around it many times
Yeah we absolutely loved it! I’m sure we’ll do the same and head back there again and again, it’s absolutely gorgeous
It's great to have you back people, albeit retrospectively. What a wonderful part of the country you've been in, and those views are to die for. Happy travelling x
Thank you, it's lovely to be back 😊
Love this… must do it
Really enjoyed this tour, and definitely on my bucket list over the next few years. Thanks so much for sharing the beauty of those amazing park-ups, the villages, roads and meals. Loved it all!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it 😀
Really enjoyed that! Nice to see a not so popular part of Scotland. I enjoy also seeing what you give yourselves to eat. Your meals look amazing!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. We enjoy putting the food in too, it’s something we always found interesting in other van people’s videos - we always loved seeing what it was possible to make in such a small space so we try to show that side too 😊
Amazing park ups and scenery. Stunning.
It was! Just incredible ❤️
Looks beautiful, love the car parks!
It was really stunning!
Scotland❤️
Us too 😍
This was absolutely incredible, even to watch! Lovely places, lovely vibes... Thank you so much for sharing with us. :)
And I'm really glad you did get a steering wheel cover. (:
Ah thanks, glad you enjoyed it 😊 That steering wheel cover is actually really comfortable! 🤣
Interestingly you mentioned being obsessed with iron bru.. my Nan suffered extreme morning sickness when pregnant with my uncle. She was on the way to get a new morning sickness medicine- thalidomide!- when she stopped at a shop and my grandad bought her iron bru. She said she instantly felt better. She decided not to take the medicine and what a lucky decision that was! When I was pregnant my nan would buy me bottles of it but I hate it 😂
Wow that’s an amazing story! So lucky that your nan actually liked it!!
I have never seen that area before, thank you very much for sharing… And that first meal caught my eye, the one that looks like pork. Did you say that was eggplant? You got a share of the recipe really did look good whatever it was! Thanks you guys from Northern California!
Yes, it’s pulled eggplant! It looks very similar to pulled pork and is quite meaty in texture - delicious if I do say so myself 😂 I’ll have to figure a way of sharing the recipe 👍
Hi guys. Can I ask if that was an actual bookable campsite you stayed on at the mull of Galloway. Looks lovely. Cheers.
A goto port patrick and gallow way forrest on my bike. In summer months a live in a place called Greenock about 2 hours away bye bike 😂 never camped at far down yet but got as far as kilwinning beach in my old camper. and up north witch was great had a hiace 4x4 camper so took advantage of at. With my sprinter a plan to go and stay down the cost more love it down there.
Ah amazing, top spots for campers, definitely and absolutely beautiful!
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing yeah it is a said it’s like 2 hours away its more like 3 just doesn’t feel like it on a bike as not clock watching plus listening to a sat nav your just having fun.
Cyprus calling. Come from the west coast so really enjoyed this video. About to have tattie scones and bacon but in pitta bread, got to have something local. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Ah great stuff! Glad you enjoyed it. Tattie scones in a pitta bread 🤣 Love it!!

James, there is no question; when you decide finally to settle 'Chez Jay' HAS to happen!!!
Trying to recall the timing of your trip but I think it was August? Probably the Perseid meteor shower you saw.
That was a Charolais bull you spotted - they are just RIDICulously bulbous... and loved the hare sighting.
Sarah - I'm with J again - tattie scones eggs and beans are an all-season brekky!!!
I am so glad you were able to enjoy the Bonny Land in that fine weather. It is still pretty in the murk, but certainly not open-door-worthy.
Sending my weekly hugglies to Ady. YAM xx
Sorry for the late reply. Would love to open Chez Jay one day, great name too 😊
Just googled the Charolais bull and that's exactly what we saw! Like cows on steroids, just the most unbelievably muscly animals we've ever come across.
We always pass your hugs on to Ady 🥰🥰🥰
What an amazing place!! Thanks for sharing it! 🤩
Ah glad you enjoyed it sis 😊
