- Driving around Portland, Oregon in spring 2023. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Rainy day but i managed to fit a video in before another rain shower. I drive around the west side mostly. Check previous videos for the east side. Portland was looking a little sketchy today with more tents and graffiti. Normally it's seemed like it was on a uptrend. Although not a very fast one.
I was just there last week. I'm glad I'm back home already.
Thank you for the massive flashbacks! I worked the Oregonian racks for years (back in the 70's) in the downtown area (Broadway, from the old Oregonian building down to Union Station, up Burnside then double back South (parallel to Broadway), repeatedly back and forth, covering all the streets until the 405. So Thank you for the re-visit. I am surprised at how little it has changed in almost 50 years. I expected it to be much more foreign. I used to deliver to all the old hotels at 2 am when the bars were emptying out, very entertaining. Used to deliver to the tail end of Darlene's show, also very quirky crowds. Cherry blossoms are always beautiful. This town is a literally how to not run a city . 40 years here. Its gone literally from nothing to less than nothing with peaks in between ..Damn . I should write. That's profound

What a crappy city
I have to drive down there end of the month, not looking forward to it but my specialist (medical doctor) works there. So sketchy. PS i thought Graffiti was against the law and loitering etc? not in the Democrat controlled world.
Most actual Democrats in Oregon and Portland want the streets cleaned up and the tent cities taken down .... so enough with the silly uninformed Republican garbage . If you weren't so dumb you'd realize its the anarchists and socialists in Portland that cause the trouble and want that city turned into a dump who are obviously not the democrats
