I find it hilarious that people are cheering for these tow trucks but if one of these trucks were to tow their cars, they would have been pissed and jumping off the walls. Lol
The day the entire fleet broke down, First trucks engine is not running, second trucks steering went out but it is pushing the first truck and pulling the rest, third trucks rear drive shaft snapped but it's engine is powering the PTO for an auxiliary air compressor to keep the air tanks full on the rest of the fleet. To keep it from over pressurizing, the drivers are bleeding air off with their air horns.
My husband operates a tow truck and figures the first truck is taking the load but there would have to be at least two more who are doing some pulling. Note the third axle on the first truck is down but the rest are all up. After the initial start, being on a flat surface, it would be fairly easy for one truck to pull the whole works. (Kind of like the little red wagon filled to the max with a bunch of nuts in it, lol. Once it gets started, it'll roll as long as you're not going uphill.)
That's a lot of tow trucks. Must be a conspiracy lol, it's a parade disguised as a mass takeover of cars, once out of sight all the trucks dimount and steal your jalopie or however you spell that! LOL! Tis funny to me as I worked for a towing outfit for a while. Neat vid though.

Those are probably at the most 30,000 lb trucks. Standard capacity for a tandem axle rig is 80,000 lbs. That means each truck could pull two each under its own power at highway speeds in it's highest gear. Ever see the video where the VW toureg with the 5.0L diesel pulled the 747 Jet? The obstacle is breaking the inertia, once you get going you don't need full power to maintain, especially at a low speed.

We had a question from ASAP Towing in Jax Fla. Is the 1st heavy wrecker pulling the entire fleet, or do you have 2 heavy in low gear pulling them ? My opinion the Single heavy wrecker can handle the whole pull;, the office is split between 1 truck pulling as opposed to 2. Let us know when you can. Be safe on the Road Drivers.
It seems to me like when they go around a turn, the trucks farther down the line would take an inside track and the later trucks might hit the side of the road. Unless they didn't really do any turns or the lead truck swung ~really~ wide.
