Introducing the new Vulcan 812 Intruder II.
For more than 10 years, the Vulcan Intruder has been one of the most popular auto loaders for private property impounds, repossessions and commercial towers.
But at Miller Industries, simply building a great product that stands up to punishing, high-volume towing wasn't enough. Our engineers wanted more.
So they interviewed you, the customer, to find out what features and improvements would make your jobs easier. The end result is the new Intruder II.
The proceeding hook-ups were done for demonstration purposes only. In real-life towing situations, always install your safety straps and chains, as well as tow lights.
The Vulcan Intruder II is available with a stylish, impact-resistant composite modular body. It's also available with a carbon-steel or aluminum body.
The Intruder II features a new, redesigned tailboard that improves visibility between the boom and the subframe for easier hook-ups.
The hose tracking system on the Intruder II has also been completely revamped to provide longer hose life and easier maintenance.
The new, low-profile crossbar and jaws have also gone through a complete make-over for easier operation during hook-ups.
The new patent-pending crossbar pivot head assembly provides more surface area for longer life and smoother operation.
The new design also provides increased protection for the jaw cylinders by enclosing them into the crossbar and away from the elements.
The Intruder II claw design provides better grip on the tires. And, with both positive and negative tilt on the stinger, hooking up in a driveway or on an incline is a snap.
The limiter stop switches halt both the fold and boom elevation height at a predetermined height. For most hook-ups, simply bump the switch to override these controls.
The center section of the crossbar has been recessed for increased clearance to prevent damage to the vehicle's oil pan.
Check out the complete line of innovative, durable and brutally tough Vulcan equipment at your local distributor.

the ability of these things to do a parallel parked pickup is badass.
I'm not a tow trucker but DAMNNN that thing is soo cool it makes me want to become a tow truck driver!
that 90 degree grab feature is absolutely gorgeous.
In college in the 60's I drove a tow truck and we had to lie on the ground to hook chains to whatever we could find and sometimes we retrieved flood damaged vehicles and you can imagine what that was like! Good old days, my ass! LOL Really pleased you folks have used your cleverness to make such wonderful rigs. Best of luck!
Legend has it that white van is still getting towed away
Tahoe Joe prolly did this week
Tahoe Joe Love those “Legend has it...” comments. Keep up the great work! 👍 A+++++
I am retired now but I remember 40 years ago I started towing with 440 Holms winch chain tow with stick shift and PTO on 74 old Ford truck which by the way had a couple of bullet holes on the roof which was sealed by duct tape !
We have come a long way and it is so easy and fun to tow .
Keep up the good work and GOD bless .
The driver of that white van can't seem to catch a break....jeeeesh.... ;)
ya he tried all kinds of stuff to deture that repo agent
If he would just pay his payments. Maybe we should start a gofundme. Poor guy 🤣
I got towed once, I didn’t obey the signs. I look hard every time since. TI’ll never forget that $160 lesson. There’s no telling how much grief/$$ I’ve saved myself by being aware since.
You are way smarter then most.
If only everyone else had your practical common sense, that's rarer than a golden swines piglets
30 years ago i did repos for a car lot and lender.. The top of the line back then was a snatch master. I could grab a car truck van in just a minute and never get out until i was safe to do so. That was an awesome truck and rig
The narrator has an awesome voice! Perfect for this type of work.
Does it turn you on??
We had a Vulcan cradle snatcher in '74. Very innovative for the day with the wheel lift, we still had steel bumpers then. Once you got used to it you could do amazing thins no other wrecker could. The only problem was everything on the back was electric and did not care for road salt.
3:44, couldn't help but notice traffic driving backwards in the background. xD
You are right they made it look nice and simple to back up to it so after they had it backed up they ran the video of them pulling away from it backwards and edited it
but the guy stopping traffic was normal---anyone know why??
They paid him to act that way.
Echo Tiger mind blown
it was opposite day !
This guy owning the van should really start paying his bill, gets towed like 5 times in this video!
😂😂😂
Hahahahaha
Omg love the sarcasm still my favorite language
Lol
not kidding 😂
Why am I watching this? ... I got on here 1 hour ago watching a documentary on cruise ships and now I’m watching a repo truck tow a white minivan.🤔
Isaac Kamau I have no idea how I made it to this video either lol
I watch gtoger's RUclips channel in Dallas Texas where cars parking illegally are towed. I wondered exactly how the autoloader worked. I really know how to use/waste my time. This video really helped me understand the equipment. Thanks Miller Industries. I like your heavy duty tow trucks too.
Your a dude, dude. It's what we do
GToger brought me here don’t know why towing vehicles maybe
Bullet proof rear window sold separately?
i operate one these bad boys :) comes in handy in tight spots and when you need to move vehicles around quick. have pulled FWD vehicles from the rear wheels a few times.
Amazing! well done to the driver for that skill must have practiced a bit.
he works for u win towing out of Clinton Township Michigan the technique worked perfect it was on a private property impound Thank You Miller for making the video very helpful and made money tonight was so excited to try it we forgot to video it but we will have to video it next time
i wanna become a repo guy now
I do the 90 degree stuff every once in a while with my Dynamic 601, but we don't have a lot of parallel parking in this area so more common is a 45-60% hook up if I can't get a straight shot. Have never seen that behind-the-wheels connection before and certainly have never tried it. Will keep it in mind though.
Don't remember how I got to this section, not in the tow truck business but after watching this I want one of these.
That's a nice autoloader. Might buy one!
my boy used this to steel cars and chop them, THANKS MILLER INDUSTRIES
Im not even a repo man. Those things just look menacing. Forget Truck Nutz I want one of these instead!
As those at miller industries heard some feedback from tow truck operators tasked on performing a repo when the feedback was used to redesign the Vulcan 812 when the tow truck operators hook up the default vehicle long before the owners realize they'll been robbed.
This is awesome!!
But there are some cars parked so close, that this setup still won't pull, because the cars are parked so close both front and back bumper are force together given no room to pull out.
Nice. Wheelifts have come a long way since my first one in mid 80s. Lol
Now THAT is Asset recovery!!! I've never had a vehicle towed away like that!
the 90 degree hook up is impressive.
i recognized a couple of the buildings. Chattanooga Tennessee. and there is a wrecker museum that is quite interesting in Chattanooga.
GANKED!
I gotta get one of these for my car stealing side business
That's one bad ass tow truck
the tow truck is amazing
I could achieve the same versatility with an old style wrecker. It just took more preparation. These new systems can really hook and book!🚔
trespass towing is my favorite
That is awesome, I want one now. Our repo truck had a Dynamic but my carrier has a Vulcan wheel lift.
Wheel lift trucks are the bomb.
Excellent! " Gone in 7 seconds"!!
Cool you finally did what jerrdan had already accomplished but hey to each is his own
I reaized they werent selling a Repo unit.
But they were offering tips in how Chrysler Vans.. can do burnouts in reverse!
Great bit of kit for all you car theirs out there.
That driver is a beast
That's a beautiful tow truck, right there.
That's at the Tennessee aquarium!
Nice innovation for towing
Was impressive
No transmission dammage, doesn't move far enough to cause any harm, maybe a slightly more worn out spot on the tires... It's a common repo tool called dragging.. As long as you don't run down the road with it dragging you don't cause any damage
This is what my Dynamic's have been doing since the early 1990's
Dynamic INVENTED the self-loader; my 601 is 1997 vintage.
All the way around that's a sweet Rig
Got to have it.....
All the more reason to have your frame kissing the ground, which is pretty badass if you aren't using air. I don't tend to park in places I'd get towed, but I don't approve of this technology for the potential damage to the vehicle (I doubt most operators would check for chassis/sump clearance) and just how easy it would be to steal a car.
I love my tow truck. It's a beautiful thing.
I pay my car note. But if this showed up at my home. They better make it bullet proof
Next on our list.... nice
Awesome
That is On Very Cool Lift For a fast Hook And Go
Oh man. I wish I had this instead of my regular vulcan wheel lift. Ah well, gets the job done just as well, even if it takes a little longer.
My guess is they either dolly it or have a flatbed nearby. This unit would be used to simply move the repo into position so the flatbed could line up and drag on (again, probably with dollies).
it is just da best towing system for the driver
great "V - heckels" you towed there xD
Walter George AKA: Mr. Ignorant
I for one appreciate repo men because if not for them, the banks and dealers would just pass the costs to those of us that do pay their bills.
Todd Szymanski they already do dumbass
sharkheadism you obviously don't have a clue how vehicle financing works by your ignorant post ,repo costs don't raise interest rates.
@@michaelledford4751 and you don't know how America's banking and finance systems work if you think not repoing cars would kill them. And he didn't say raising the interest rates on loans. He meant the entire kit and kaboodle. Their aim is maximizing profit margins as much as they can without getting caught breaking the law. If repoing was outlawed tomorrow, the biggest institutions would barely flinch.
Just pay your bills. Don't complain if it gets snatched if you stopped making payments 6 months ago.
that is an awesome unit!
Very slick 👌.
While parking pins are not designed for this, any parking pin that would fail is something a car company doesn't want to defend in court. Parking pins are not unbreakable, but they are incredibly strong.
If you've seen cop chases, you know what a wheel will do as it disintegrates. And you probably know that the coefficient of sliding friction is less than starting friction. In other words, the longer it is pulled, the stress on the pin actually goes down, not up.
Thats about as good as it gets folks
I like this rig.
I have a Chevy with a Vulcan 810 and earlier this evening I extended my boom and now it won't retract have you ever dealt with this kind of problem before
that is awesome.
Between this brand and the dynamic big difference dynamic is much much better faster and better visibility
Keep expecting to hear "The Hero Steps Up"...(gtoger reference there)...
#DRUMBEATS
Thats a nice snatch truck
Could you add a video on what the inside of the towing vehicle looks like, the switches, etc. and an instructional video on how it operates?
I'll assume the Vulcan is controlled same as my Dynamic. There are four 3-position momentary switches [ON-OFF-ON; default position is in the middle (off)]. The functions are FOLD/UNFOLD, UP/DOWN, IN/OUT (or EXTEND/RETRACT), and OPEN/CLOSE (for the L-arms/forks). You do it a few hundred times and you don't have to look at the switches anymore.
video recorded in reverse and played backwards the vehicles were already hooked up up,watch traffic moving backwards
TheDieselbutterfly ,
Good catch. I so dislike companies that do that.
TheDieselbutterfly good catch
I loved the 810 intruder.. other than a couple hoses, it remained all original through 270k miles and carried weight very well... Come check out my repo videos and watch the 810 in action!
I've seen some of these videos when the person realized their car is being repoed they'll get in the car and once it's hooked up to the tow truck they can actually drive off from the truck damaging their vehicle and the tow truck can this happen with this type of tow truck?
a friend of mine and me used the technique of picking the car up behind the front wheels
i say hell yea to it makes the diver safer that when any gets up set cuz they miss a play it they cant hurt the diver for doing his job..
@SICKJ0KER You can move it and then hook up chains and lights in a safe location.
I would hire this guy to narrate on my horror film
Be a good thief be a tow truck driver and the police department will always be on your side
You know that’s not the case. It’s completely legal and even though a repo is never a pleasant thing, we all know that our bills need to be paid and done so at the agreed upon time for the agreed upon amount.
That was just showing the new equipment that was not actual tow or in pound desmostration only if you read the info
wait... what??? what kept the van from rolling off the stinger while being pulled from the back while in park? can you do that if the vehicle doesnt have the ebrake on?
The most versatile rig I have ever seen. Thought the Intruder was badass! Does it come in a f-550/650 chassis?
That's some nice work thee... I need one of those!
You should see how they tow in Japan
You can tell its new repo truck it doesn't have any bullet holes yet.....
Whoaaaa
Hemmis all day!
To the owner of the mini van pay your car note or return your ride. You got repoe around 5 times
for all you saying rip transmission the parking pawl can take some abuse its no worse than putting your car in reverse or drive while you're still rolling in the opposite direction or putting your car in park while moving this is why you should always put the car in neutral set and the parking brake before putting the car in park.
Most if not all modern cars won't let you remove the keys unless the car is in park. Also, parking brakes aren't predictable, and should never put alone, especially in hilly roads.
not here in texas, you gotta be licensed by TDLR
Why the hell have I been watching videos about tow trucks for the last 45 mins?
I recognize all those Chattanooga locations
All I can think about is the front end of the truck and how much weight you could pull Notice how much of a space there is between the front tires wheel well ?
Badass!
OMG i so want one what a money maker!! Wow awesome
Mike S 4
And we thought the cradle snatcher was the nuts in "the day".
After using old-school sling tech to repo and transport cars, this vehicle would have been sweet to have many, many times over with this towing capability. Oh, and for the bad-asses out there: Shooting and killing tow truck drivers, no matter how you feel about them, is still considered 1st degree homicide. Us shooting back and killing you in self defense is, well, self-defense. Calm your tits and park properly and/or pay your car payment on time and you won't have any issues, right? Right.
Yep no issues, just like Lincoln Towing in Chicago. www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/towing-companies-worst/Content?oid=37062911
Thiefs use these too
You say that like it's common for tow drivers to get shot and killed..... More plumbers get shot and killed.
Here because of GTOger cause tow truck love
Nice truck but all you need is a low clearance parking like the one at my apartment complex and there’s no way that thing can get In there. I guess that’s one of the reasons my tenants love living there lol
Geting one of this is actually a good way to steal a lot of cars
And parking brake?
hadraplana 2:41
hadraplana, we would unlock your car for a small additional fee and release the parking brake. No problem.
James Faison that's actually illegal
