I turn wrenches for 25 years, now I am starting a new career in towing business. It Doesn’t mater how much your knowledges and skills you have, with a new job, you still have to learn from others. Thanks.
In the last vid I was thinking to myself that this is the most work you've ever shown us done in one video, and then there was a part 2. It's nice to see multiple jobs at once. The best part is that it's always something different.
It's definitely a different setup than your average tow truck. There's still some more changes I would like to do to the layout to carry a little more gear
I’m retired from commercial printing after 30 years and I absolutely hate it. I’ve been retired for 5 years and after watching your channel I’m going to purchase a truck to keep myself busy and make some money 💰which in my opinion are both good things. Thanks for the knowledge. I’ve seen hours and hours of your videos. Thx Casey.
You better do research on it before you get into something that you didn't expect. I have seen too many ppl get into the wrecker business and end up going belly up. Having been in the business before I can tell you from experience that it ain't fun and it can be a losing money situation.
I have not and will never run a tow truck but know much more about it. Thanks for the useless knowledge. I am though fascinated by it. I watch your's and Matt's channels regularly.
I like how you use the soft sling around the control arm to minimize metal on metal damage. I am going to adopt this method myself. Thank you for that tip!
It works great and as a bonus, it's a lot easier to fish the soft sling around control arms and through tight spaces than the big metal hook on the end of the chain
Getting ready to start a new job as a tow truck driver in a couple weeks and this is incredibly helpful. Gonna be a lot of OJT but I appreciate all the advanced info you give!
Anybody can be a driver. Don't be a driver. Take training classes and be an operator. Be professional, act professional and no matter what you operate keep it clean inside and out because you don't want a customer getting in a filthy truck if they dressed decent.
IN that tow reality show they never showed this part. It looked like fully automatic. Does it depend on the type of tow truck? Or they just left this part out for tv.
Yo bud! Good video! Question, as I only watched this one so far (I'm on OTR trucking & the lifestyle just isn't working out for me): what's the fear of roundabouts? They all look like they had trailer aprons on them... is that problematic for tow trucks? Thanks again.
Last time I checked safety chains are to be connected directly to the vehicle without any intermediate item in between I know its not like o know anything really however i have been in a family of towing and recovery operators since I was born 25 plus years ago
So someone offered me job being a tow truck driver but I’m honestly scared to commit. Mostly cuz I’m not sure I’ll make enough money. The lady says there’s commission and chp work. Is that kind of like OT?
@@CaseyLaDelle I bought a couple of Ford Taurus oil pans and had them installed it sometimes you have to learn by your mistakes and hope that they don't cost too much learning them it sounds like you're a very cautious driver I would have paid double to have something like you working for me when I was in business
Bend Oregon is rapidly trying to catch up to your neck of the woods. There is one spot here that has two roundabouts in a row, with a small roundabout between them in case you want to use a roundabout to get from one roundabout to the other...

Your truck is beautiful and you've really maximized your bed in locating all of your tools. Really one of a kind wrecker!

@@CaseyLaDelle It just seems like the right thing to do! Treat every car as if it were your own.
Thanks Casey .when I start the business main problem was how to increase the clearance. Your double lift method helps me.

Its just the wheel lift arms painted a different color you can extend and retract as needed manually

I see you got ya a booster seat in your rig
Smooth! Thanks
How does the single rear wheel work out for you? Ever wish you had duals?
This was a dual rear wheel truck that I swapped for singles. For what I do, the singles are FAR better
YEAH…..those soft slings keeps the owners of repos from driving off the auto lift toooo 😂😂😂😂
Can you do a video about rates?
How long is the soft sling? And those metal blocks look familiar, they came off Volkswagen engine mount dampener?
Casey
Why was it necessary to use the blocks to unload? Thanks

would lv more of this ,
What's your problem with roundabouts ? We have thousands in the UK . Traffic flows better with roundabouts than traffic lights .

That’s a great story, but this is perfectly legal.

Did you take the job mate ?
Just have too make sure they don't rip you off I had a few companies rip me off do it
@@Beepbop12321 yes I took the job and I loved it. Then I got offered something better so I don't tow anymore.
Hey what all does it take to put the in cab controls in the wrecker
Nice trick!
Guess what? No Riley. 🤨

guessing round abouts was sisters?
Too much work for that small car 2 wheel straps is good enough for that because it's not that heavy unless you're gonna go up a steep hill.
Easy Recovery
Lol Say like 18 round abouts 😅
when you see oil on your crossbar $$$$$$$$$
Haven't hit an oil pan yet, but tow TONS of cars with busted oil pans throughout the summer

You want Roundabouts? In England we have Roundabouts. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Roundabout_(Swindon)

@@CaseyLaDelle Yep , great fun .Tie string behind the truck and you can knit a sweater with the manouvers. ;-)
Carmel, Indiana.
Over 150 roundabouts.
I don't like em. I've come close to crashing in them quite a few times.
Guess what ? We have roundabouts everywhere here in the UK 🇬🇧 😄
