This scene is symbolic because we can see at the same time Adam having sex with Megan and Adam being augmented. Thus augmented Adam is a "child" of his former self and Megan's effort, metaphorically speaking he is a son of Adam and Megan.
Lo_Wang, tbh I don’t want another Deus Ex game with Adam. Not because I don’t like him-quite the opposite, really. I just think it’ll never be as good. ***** O.O Wow, that took me entirely too long to fully understand. I've heard him say that before but it makes more sense now... he's not just talking about the pain. >.
Adam Jensen was a genetically modified child created in a lab, his genes would be used on other children but their parents burned the lab down and handed him to an old lady to find adoptive parents for him. His genes allows his body to quick recover and adapt easy with synthetics. He doesn't even need neuropozyne to avoid rejections on his augmentations because his body doesn't reject augmentations at all.
***** His body doesn't reject them, yes, but that's an oversimplification. His body creates a natural barrier to envelope the interface between organic and synthetic materials. They changed the reboot of Robocop way too much, yeah the graphics are impressive and some scenes are good, but I didn't like the training phases where they just said "fuck it, we'll turn off his brain and let the computer do the work, just to one-up the robots everyone else makes" They made it feel like RoboCop was barely needed, and he was barely needed since they had better robots then, unlike in the original. Plus they exchanged the protagonist having limbs shot off with blood everywhere which could have looked good with today's practical effects, and replaced it with a pesky car bomb. Were they trying to make RoboCop family friendly or something?
"yeah he's no good to me like this" and "his body can take it" is really good characterization from his boss. it seems heartless, but it underscores just how important adam is to his employer.
I love this opening credits scene so much. Not only do the visuals and audio blend perfectly, but I found the sexual imagery very emotionally moving. Why? Because sexual passion is the ultimate epitome of physical skin-to-skin contact, and the total body sensations one derives during love making e.g.using your hand to caress someones skin, or feeling a hand grab firmly on your hips, or arms, etc. ... these are the things that Adam will never be able to experience again as he becomes part machine. And this scene beautifully depicts this pivotal turning point in his life. Then when you learn why Megan is sorry at the end of the game, it all really comes home. It feels like the one person who had given Adam his most intimate moments in life was also the same person who was (at least partially) responsible for taking it away from him.

I think It’s best opening credits of all games I ever played. An Idea, an actors, a music - all parts of intro is perfect. Especially music. Note that how compositor was mix classical music and modern electronic music. This composition is symbolizing main plot idea.
One of the best game intros!!! Along with Soul Reaver, Bioshock, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Medal Of Honor Frontline, Medal Of Honor European Assault, Civilization VI, Crysis, System Shock 2, Alien Isolation.
Can't stop replaying... can't turn the volume up loud enough for this awesome music. seriously, this is like movie credits, it's the coolest thing i've EVER seen...
I had a surgery to repair the meniscus in my right knee after I tore it in an MMA fight. The doctor told me the sutures in the repaired tissue would never tear again, and it felt like this cutscene lmao
Just completed this game yesterday. I have to say, this is one of the best games ever made! From the character development between Adam, David, Pritchard, and the antagonists to the Megan Reed sub plot. Truly a masterpiece. The upgrading system was awesome, the hacking mini game was so damn addictive, and the inventory system was a great throw back to Resident Evil 4 and the original Deus Ex. Thank you Eidos Montreal for making this masterpiece!
Music is beyond legendary. This game/its soundtrack along with the Matrix are in my lifelong hall of fame…some of the greatest pieces of art I’ve ever experienced
More importantly, Missing Link is now streamlined into the playthrough, rather than a separate thing in the main menu. And the boss battles are not simply 'patched', they have been gutted and totally rebuilt.
The soundtrack of this game is a masterpiece. There is no other way to call it; after playing the entire game and knowing which soundtrack associates with what occurring, it is impossible for me to play any music from this game without getting chills all over. I don't know any other game, maybe except for the original, that made that happen to me with EVERY SINGLE PART OF THE SOUNDTRACK.
First time I ever played this, I experienced a bug where the main menu theme kept playing through this cutscene for some reason. I thought it was how this was supposed to play out, and tbh I was disappointed the next playthrough when I realized it wasn't the true background music. Seriously, just go find the menu music theme and play it at the same time as you start this. It completely changes the entire mood.... It's so dreary, depressing and somber. I felt a much bigger connection with Jensen because of that damn glitch. In all seriousness, he never asked for this, even though he worked at a company that specializes in human augmentation. Adam as a character had no real strong opinion one way or another on the issue of "controlled evolution", yet he didn't volunteer for any of the special offers he had the potential of getting for working as the security for such a successful brand. When you hear the main theme with this in mind, it's like you can feel what he's feeling as he's dying inside, leaving his past behind him to become an entirely new person. It's like he's forced to say farewell, to everything. The only thing that keeps him going from then on is the pursuit of justice, and bringing the people who are responsible for all this down. EDIT: ruclips.net/video/JpTcZJJ-lm0/видео.html For christ sake, it's even in sync with both his vision of Megan and his synthetic heartbeat.
One reason the Missing Link DLC is cool is that you can do ANYTHING you want to the "boss" character. Wanna kill him for awesome loot? You can. Wanna knock him out like batman? You can. Wanna sneak past him and leave him alone entirely? You can. The creators said they regretted letting another company make the boss fights for the main game because they wanted us to have more choice. So if the theres gonna be a Deus Ex 4, we will have total freedom.
Still the better cyberpunk game than "THE cyberpunk". The technology acceptance & straggle, The Ideologie behind this game. A dream of 8 years, just like Icarus.
The memory of Megan telling Adam she loves him literally jump starts the dudes heart.

"Boss, was it really necessary to implant sunglasses directly into my face?"

This would be so f*cking epic movie intro!! I mean how much adrenaline rush would you be in to see the movie after kickass intro that makes you care about the character thats story is being told? This game is one of those that im gonna miss when we have no chance to play it (consoles broke down/no way to get it/ impossible to make it work with new Windows and shit.) (and missing Deus Ex1 ofcourse)
Of course Human Revolution works with modern Windows. Deus Ex 1 as well.
@@Kai-tn4yx can confirm
"Yeah.... he's no good to me like this..." Goddamn i love that line!
If this was a movie and the opening like this... It would have won as minimum 10 oscars. A masterpiece.
I've played this game for the first time only 13 years later it came out. The beginning blew my mind completely
There seriously needs to be a new Deus Ex game already
And a true sequel, not an useless reboot.
Forget about it. Faggots from Embracer have just cancelled the new deus ex project and fired 97 eidos employees.
sadly it has been confirmed there will never be Mankind Divided part 2. Embracer has killed it off, along with a sizeable amount of staff at Eidos.
ouch.
The first time listening to this opening soundtrack, I knew right away I was going to enjoy this game a lot!
one of the best opening credits I have ever seen of a video game !!!!
this should be doctor house intro
BEST OPENING EVER!
A masterpiece, the best Deus Ex game with a stunning soundrack and great story.
God, it's from another level of existence.... still is.
yes
this is the Rembrandt of game openings!!
I think It’s best opening credits of all games I ever played. An Idea, an actors, a music - all parts of intro is perfect. Especially music. Note that how compositor was mix classical music and modern electronic music. This composition is symbolizing main plot idea.
"10 years old". That makes me feel incredibly old.
I love this game, dont think I've ever gotten more out of a game than this. 11 playthroughs of it :D
Still this day the best opining in history of games so far
ah, you're finally awake...
For opening game credits, this is my most favorite. The music gives me goosebumps from how awesome it is.
12 years later this intro still impresses me.
It's one of the greatest games ever made, I totally agree.
You are a kind and generous soul for uploading this. Thank you.
Thank you Eidos Montreal for making this masterpiece!
never get tired of watching this
This game blew my mind apart
God, that intro gives me chills every time!
Amazing opening to an awesone game. Deus Ex Human revolution really delivered
The intro edit is Amazing, love it!
Damn, all these years and still, it gives me goosebumbs
Masterpiece of a game!
2023, less than 5 years to 2027!! Still epic!! 😎
I love the Robocop vibes of it. Even the easter eggs and mentions, a masterpiece
Still as good as i remember :')

For christ sake, it's even in sync with both his vision of Megan and his synthetic heartbeat.
I listen to this soundtrack while studying every day. I love it. Such a great story, game and soundtrack!
This is why I'm going into science.
Biomedical engineering*
Wow. Simply wow. The music is phenomenal.
