Nolan did a perfect job with the movie. Just because it didn't follow up to the expectations per say the 'Dark Knight' doesn't make it a bad movie. People expected too much out of him after that movie. I still believe no one could have done a better realistic trilogy than he did, that takes a lot of creativity. Nolan's a genius so as I said before I doubt you would have gotten a better version out of anyone else who doesn't CGI animations for everything.

Rises was going to have joker as the villain escaping from arkham asylum with other psychopaths and take control of the gotham with Bane playing a small part but Heath ledger's death threw a wrench in their plans.

For all who are asking about the chant and origin of the words :
Its derived from arabic, espacialy from egyptian arabic,
its derived from "tiji bisuraa" or "tiigi Bisuraa" "تيجي بسرعة" wich means "come faster" or "hurry up" or it could mean also "we need you" but Hans changed it to "Deshi basara" to fit more with melody, even if it doesn't make sense

“She comes quickly”; if it were “He comes quickly” it would be “ييجي بسرعة". However, there is a certain amount of ambiguity present because “تيجي بسرعة" can mean both “She comes quickly” and “You (masculine) come quickly.” This is because Arabic conjugates verbs for person (I vs You vs He), number ( I vs We) and gender of the verb’s subject (“She runs” is conjugated differently from “He runs.”) For reasons that someone far more educated on the subject than me would know, Arabic conjugates the Masculine singular second person verb and the Feminine Singular Third Person verb precisely the same way: “You (referring to a man) eat” and “she eats” are conjugated the same way in Arabic: “تأكل.”
Given the reveal at the end of the film, I think that “She comes quickly” might have been a deliberate choice by Zimmer. Perhaps “You (masculine) comes quickly” would also be appropriate given Batman’s role in the film.
Beyond that, I thought that this was based off of Maghrebi Arabic. Was I mistaken? That would explain the absence of the distinctive “hard” g sound that is associated with Egyptian Arabic.

For those that didnt know, there was actually a request put out for people to contribute their voices to the ‘deshi basara’ chanting online. I tried to join in while i was in uni, not sure if it made the cut.
As did I while I was studying audio engineering at musicians institute in Hollywood.

Not only is it rare for a film to be tied so tightly to a song, but for it to be the 'epic villain' theme that the hero assumes. That's pretty unique film-making.
This chanting is literally the most artistic thing Nolan has come up with in his career. It has so much meaning packed into it. It’s the sound of the characters’ self hatred, their paranoia that the people will come after them for the frauds that they are, the sound of the “eat the rich” occupy Wall Street sentiment, the sound of the Middle East coming to take revenge on the imperial West, and the sound of the main characters’ bodies fighting for survival, all rolled together. Truly epic and incredible.

I think one of the best things about this film is Banes whole musical motif. That chant, the drums - it's all very primal and powerful. I love how it appears whenever he's on screen, like this thing, this air, this aura following him. It was certainly one of the things I enjoyed most about it.

Loved it how in the movie Deshi Basara chant blended at first with The Batman theme, only to fade in the background and give way to the latter theme and to further play in the background - thus, making The Dark Knight He Rises!

I remember before the film came out, you could send a recording of yourself reciting the "deshi basara" bit to the studio or something and it would end up in the final cut for the soundtrack with everyone else's voices. I kind of regret not doing it now.

This exactly why I prefer DC. Because they actually make you think about how these heroes and villains have repercussions in the real world. The film was a complete package and an epic journey from start to finish. I love the graphic novels used, the properly executed punchlines, and the background of the characters introduced. That's good writing by Goyer, the Nolan brothers, and Zack Snyder. Also brilliant acting by everyone.
