I knew this game was something special when this was the first thing i was greeted with...
Mat Duck lol
+Mat Duck Same here, sucks you right into the atmosphere of the game before even pressing start.
These games are here to teach us something important, folks. Fiction becomes reality day by day, and is not doing any good to us overtime, but bad. Technology makes us dumber and more abusive, as we forget about the strength and necessity of reason and virtue. We may enjoy this music or this game (among others) in a state of excitement and contemplation, but is not enough.
You're right. And when you start a New game and select The dificulty:
Tell me a story
Give me a challenge
Give me Deus Ex.
I thought "that's what i want. Give me Deus Ex".
I love this game.
I was about to comment the exact same thing word for word
The game's story and concepts concerning the government being overthrown by corporations and religious refusal of advanced technology are more real than people think.
+Darovit Ikr, thats why its so awesome
The game also shows the dangers of government overreach and the dangers of advanced technology. Their was also very little religion in this nice try with the left wing spin though.
no matter how hard one tries this game won't fit anyone's agenda, it is impartial.
+Darovit that is a classic cyberpunk theme
+lordmasterization Doesn't necessarily have to be a dig against religions. One can be "religious" about atheistic beliefs too, or an idea or standard. Should broaden your english a little there, friend-o.
_Niko Linni_
Niko Linni & Friends Right, this game makes everyone look both good and bad. We need more games like it, it makes the players think. Challenges the intellect. We need more of this and less of Ubisoft and EA which is basically big government propaganda.
"It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here."
I honestly sat there for ages considering which button to press.
I cri evertiem
i use this theme as my alarm clock. I wake up in the future every day.
But how can you wake up in the future if its the present the moment you wake?
***** well, every time he wakes up from this point, will be in the future, thus he wakes up in the future
***** because the future, past and present are NOW. just like a movie inside a disk. its an illusion of movement. the illusion of a movie that does not have a pause, fast forward or backward button. a movie you are forced to watch and not look away. a movie that cannot be stopped (or can it?). a movie in which its end is the end of you, the end of us all, the end of the ones who lived before us, and will be the end of the ones who live in the future. DAMN. i have never written such badass think in a while.
***** But the future is also now... now... and now!
+Electronik-FArts That was so deep I think we hit bedrock
One of the best menu themes of all time
tunes like this, makes you apreciate videogame music.
I remember not knowing much about this game. So when I Put in the disc and heard this for the first time... im pretty sure i listened to it for about 10 minutes straight :s
Same here just memorized
Haha I find it hard starting the game cause of this soundtrack XD
I understand that. :D
Inconsistent Montages don’t you just hate and love that
Has there been any other game where people spent so much time just hanging about in the menu because the music was so damn good?
@@chuffmunky Far Cry
i understand... the music i soo suding... love it. it fits soo perfect for the game... whoever wrote it. thums up.
Most feelsy music to exist. If I could I'd just sit and listen. Forever. THE FEELS.
rApt0rAWSMsawce the feels on the bus, go round and round
It's not that easy to capture an atmosphere. I wanted to play. But I wanted to be in this menu forever. I remember everything. Great game. People don't know.
I get goosebumps listening to this music.
I awllays asked for this
Miguel Rojas no
Damn this shit is so unbelievably mesmerizing
A smart choice, to greet you into the game with the best track it has
DX1 soundtrack = DX HR soundtrack. They're both awesome.
Agreed. I couldn't choose between them. I think DX:HR has the slightly better atmospheric music, whereas the first DX has the better melodic music. But again, both have an absolute stellar soundtrack. :)
Adam A Yup. I've been trying for a while to find another soundtrack with similar darkness as DX:HR, but no luck... true classic.
I love DX HR more. :D
10 лет почти прошло. Эээхххх.. как же быстро летит время 😔
good music to fall asleep to
*Insert nostalgic moment here *
*punches through wall*
Putting boxes on the ground to avoid electrocution
throwing a emp grenade at your feet
+K4R1N3 L1M4 completing your pacifist, foxiest of the hounds, give me Deus ex run
😭😭😭
I slowly walk through Saif HQ as the security board up the doors from the protesters. I take the lift up. Flames outside, rioters brawling. This music plays on, showing the slow demise of humanity by technology. Incredible.
Fuck, this soundtrack reminds me on my ex girlfriend. I always played it at evening, but when we were tired and went to bed, she always wanted me to pause the game and let play this track just to fall into asleep. Great memories.
I did, buddy. I did..
Eurocorp Fx Hard break then.
lol...
TheGuanche88 thanks, bra
EurocorpFx its amazing how people have same experiences. This too brought me back to who I was in a relationship with at the time. Good memories here too.
This game has a soul
Epic game. Epic soundtrack. :)
I love this one because it depicts how our not-so-distant future might look like. Advancement in technology, happiness in life, loved ones, morality. Augmentations. Wearable computers. Cloud computing (flawless data transfer wirelessly), robots.
I mean, Google Glass, machines, bionic implants. If plastic surgery is all the rage in South Korea, why not augmentations, right? And when a lot of people adopt augmented lifestyle -- there's bound to be arguments and controversy.
"God have created you in His image, why do you desecrate yourself?" - some random civilian Adam meets in Detroit 2027.
Some choose to get augmented on purpose (for power, defy human limitations), some don't (like Adam).
Just saying.
And hey uploader! Thanks for uploading this! Much appreciated. :)
It's honestly the most relevant storyline in video games to me. 2027 is only a little over a decade away. A lot can change and one thing about sci-fi is that they don't (accurately) take into account how fast or slow tech is progressing. I don't think we will colonize another planet at least for another century or two. But the timeline in this game seems rather plausible along with the fact that the amount of controversy would be unprecedented in human history up to that point. Changing our physical makeup like that has never happened except in fiction. The detail put into all the politics and viewpoints and debates on concepts that are found in this game are some of the most well thought out story elements I've ever seen in a game. And I almost started tearing up when I watched the endings of this game. The real footage really got to me. We should think long and hard before we allow technology of that level get a hold of us, not to mention global warming is an issue as well (and threatens to kill us within the next 200 years guaranteed considering the rate that we are polluting).
Kyle Roby True. I started tearing up when I watch all the endings especially the button you hit in the passage at far end of the facility.
Can I really trust humankind to take its due course? Visions differ -- will the world become a better place or worse? I guess I'll never know.
Personally, yes, technology helps us in a lot of ways. We shouldn't go back to the caveman era. But the lines between technology and humanity is getting blurry and there are people out there who are hungry for power. And technology offers that power/dominance.
This is so deep. Made me think. Thanks.
DarkZeroHero hey, just saying, mankind divided is coming out. i guess we're about to find out, at least in the world of deus ex :DD which, might just become our world. but like with most sci fi predictions, its all just a prediction. no one predicted computers. no one can predict how ai, if ever, if possible, will act. what we know and what we dont, at least now, its really just a tiny fracture of what's out there. and taking into cosideration the fact that the universe is limitless (if it even is) then.. we might never find out? scary thought, isnt it? or is it just scary because we are afraid of the unknown? cant comprehend nothingness? okay, now im getting sidetracked. anyway, HYPE!
lolpl0000 Hey there! Yeah, I know Mankind Divided is coming out, the trailer was incredible! Although Adam Jensen didn't even utter his famous catchphrase, "I didn't ask for this." Haha.
Looks like it's Augs versus Non-augs, but apparently the villain has some sort of conquering scheme in mind. With technology, anything is possible, isn't it?
I'm curious on what lies ahead for our cyborg hero. I can relate to scifi stuff, I mean, the small little things are already here. We now have wearable technology and implants. Scientists out there are working on cloaking technology. Robots and augmentations. Whoa. The possibility is endless. Scary, but all too real.
i don't know why, but when i listen this i always cry
this music made me want to play through this story
this is the only song that can make me emotional.
Cool Pup Gaming Emotions be like, I didn't ask for this
lol
That is sad to think... only one?
ya :3
me to... its icon maan! the music...
on my roof, looking at the sky ... with this theme
Are you wearing a coat and sunglasses?
***** No ! I'm only on my roof at night. Thinking ...
@@ROROSESERthinking about your non augmented vision?
Hearing this immediately draws you into the world of Deus Ex. Such an effective piece of music for one awesome game.
Also, what is with Deus Ex and impossibly difficult decisions? I didn't really think that the augmentation thing was a big deal, but this game always had a way of showing you a second side to things. There's a truth waiting out there for most things.
And therefore I will never stop looking...
Remembering those you love who have passed away. This song can bring out the deepest feelings in someone.
This music played during the installation of this game on my ps3. It took about 20 minutes. I stayed the whole time. That's how good this theme is
Thank you thank you thank you Michael McCann for your incredible talent. This theme puts me on such an emotional roller coaster and I don't know why but I love it all just the same.
The near "future" after Covid-19... sadness
Dam straight, future is here now. Different methods of working, banking and larger state monitoring apparatus. 😐
It’s here.
Beautiful piece of music that takes me back to when I first played it, and the fantastic story that was to come. It's also a very futuristic piece of music that feels ahead of its time.
No matter how many times you played this game, it will never get old.
I'll never forget the comment I saw ten years ago which simply read "Alright, who stole God's iPod?"
such a beautiful piece. Love the entire soundtrack. everytime I boot up the game this gives me goosebumps
I hope the next one has the same or better soundtrack!
Perfect music to brood to.
bigfatcarp93 kerrigan knows
It is all more truth than it is fiction.
making this my alarm clock as we speak
I installed deus ex:human revolution a month ago in my PC and i realize that the story is so good. And on the other hand we see all the new games coming nowadays that are without such brilliant storytelling so disappointing....the isn't so much care nowadays in the plot of the games
Got in an elevator at HQ stayed in it for nigh on an hour listening to this.
this has to be the best intro theme ever, I mean, I keep getting back here and I still love it, it is THAT good
The ONLY game that got a deeper storyline about technologies and Illuminati. It's not just a game that goes BOOM BOOM POW POW PEW PEW...... It taught us not to push the technology too hard. And yes dat music... If you got stuck in a workplace, try listen to this song. Focus +300%.
Kazuhiko Minoru over 9000
I like to put this in the background while playing Cyberpunk 2077.
1000 years from now this will be considered an epic legend with a moral I think!
Incredible theme with a beautiful screen. I always loved how this song fits perfectly with this screen, in my opinion. Brings a high level of epicness along with a tranquility.
Had this as my alarm for the longest time...
I felt like this was a very deep game. People relying so much on technology, suddenly that being taken away from them leaves them lifeless. We can say we are heading towards this as well, for example let’s take smartphones. I loved this game
Definitely is a deep game about humanity in all it's aspects literally alogorichly and metaphorically it has characters that play on all aspects of what it means to be human good bad and ugly
Intro is badass, goes with the layers of music
And I read the book. Awesome. I wish we had something to watch. Like altered carbon. But deus ex
probably still to this day my favorite single player games in the modern era of gaming. Everytime i opened it up I would sit at the menu to listen to this song.
Man, this is so introspective. Starting the game with this music? You know it's golden.
so beautiful
i have been listening to this for hours.
I still wait and listen for 5-10 minutes before playing this even now when I play every once and a while it's too good not to. Hypnotic like love theme from lost river... love this song/feeling/vibes!!
Seriously one of my favorite games of all time. It just OOZES personality, and it has a perfect atmosphere.
I remember the first time I put the disc in the tray and this song started up. First time I ever got chills at the start of a game.
Simply put:
Sensational
This is the answer to
"Can Gold morph into music?"
Ugh, there needs to be a TV series of this; dark, gritty, explosive.
Na it’ll be all woke and gay now
Not Netflix though they'll cancel after 5 episodes 😂😂
When I first played this game I thought "eh whatever" and I played it just to feel good about finishing it, then eventually it clicked with me, the story and gameplay were god tier after I stopped being a shithead, then I replayed it a second time and I found the game to be genuinely glorious after playing close attention to everything, this game is a genuine masterpiece and I hope square enix can get their shit together to make a propper deus ex game, not what we got with mankind divided...
I have goosebumps every time when I'm listening soundtrack of this game.
This game is so rad haha I just started playing it yesterday and I already love it
ooh the sheer gravitas... this composition is perfect.
I don't consider this a game, I consider this ART!
Chills! Such a special game! It gives me strong 2011 memories.... man what a long time ago....
One of the best songs in the whole series
Also, Det1_Limb_Music 1, PausedAmbience 1 & SarifHQ_Music_Ambient 1
All brilliant.
I've had many instances where I accidentally opened this game, and ended up staying cus the title theme sounded so damn cool.
And this is why it takes me so long to get started whenever i launch this game :D
I love the music and the main menu... very soft and profound.
This makes me wanna do a motifying speech for human kind lol!
Two games struck me with their starting soundtrack. The first Mirror's Edge game and this beauty here. I just take so much time to click that CONTINUE button, every time.
this is truly beautiful
What a FUCKING GREAT GAME and a magnficient song
"when hopes and dreams fade into the shadows, when your beliefs are twisted and disseminated, when truth is buried beneath the lies and the lies become truths... where does your faith go - at the end of all things?"
Majority of my game time on this game is listening to this fucking piece of masterfuckingpeice!
Amazing music! I listening that music in hours!
This game had me at the bass note and chords 20 seconds in......
Does anybody still bump this in 2020 or it’s just me 🤷🏾♂️
I agree. Awesome music. I find it similar to the main menu/intro theme for Splinter Cell: Double Agent. I'd recommend checking that out if you haven't heard it.
Put your Headset on, listen to that gread Music, and Relax.
This is what Blade Runner would (and should) sound like today. A masterpiece by McCann
listen to this all the time on repeat while i study. so perfect.
Now this is beautiful music to chill too.
you've changed my life
thanks
Can wait for Mankind Divided!
Post man made apocalypse comes to mind when I hear this genre of music
I agree with you, Nvsvictor. I really love this kind of music too. Calm, slow, mysterious, soft and profound like you wrote. The perfect music when you work on your computer at night. Reminds me Crysis 2 musics by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe a bit.
And that's the awesome things about games. games that are just about realism will be forgotten in a couple of years but games that are art and that have meaningful and endless themes will never be forgotten
It is beyond Art...it is a legendary art
This song made me cry
I can't wait for the movie
word
There's a movie ?
That was a joke, as most video game movie adaptations are generaly bad. It's a also a quote from the game's writer (in game audio commentary, at the beginning of 2nd hengsa iirc)
In.Cred.Ible. I still listen to this despite this game being 6 years old, and Deus Ex MK released.
Does anyone else hear a faint bit of inspiration from Hans Zimmer's "Time" theme? No arguements here of course. I like that the people here have looked as deeply into this masterpiece as I have.
Though I'm a big fan of both songs, I'm not really hearing it I'm afraid.
Jamie MacDonald You deaf son
No, not really. Chords are completely different, and chords are the meat and soul of each piece. Sonically, it is only similar in the "overall feel". But this piece doesn't even use regular piano, the main instrument in "Time".
Danny Dion you illiterate son
The inspiration is definitely there but this stands out on its own none the less.
Включал по кругу этот трек и играл в разные игры. Божественно
Can't say I've done that... But it most certainly grabs you by the heart and doesn't let go.
Wonderful.
I see the main game menu and I get a massive smack in the face by nostalgia! Good times!
I only just started playing this because I heard the main menu music here on RUclips. Not regretting it so far.
I love this score so much :O
