One of the most-unique Grab-bags ever: Jupiter and moons, close lightning, mating moose, riverboats, OCS interior, crossing-replacement ballet…oh!..and awesome trains, too!! 🥇
(Jupiter view more zoomed than with binoculars…👍).
Ah yes, my favorite two things, planets and trains.
That's really something watching that track crew change out a whole section of track like that. A symphony of man and machinery!
It's like installing a piece of flextrack on a layout. The question is did stuff like this inspire flextrack or did flextrack inspire this?
There's a similar video (months ago) of Brightline/FEC laying new track in the same way and I wondered then why other railroads didn't seem to adopt this approach. It's good to see CSX doing such an impressive replacement that way!
@@modeltrainsandtracks I agree!
5:00 A big old Saskatchewan potash train!
10:00 *"Don't worry captain we'll buff out those scratches"*
I was afraid that lady was going to wave herself right off the platform!
Those heavy machinery drivers/workers are artists!
22:50 - Epic ending! That's my favorite clip in this grab bag! :)
Awesome trains in multiple locations, thank you.
As a Santa Fe enthusiast 10:00 hurts to look at 😢
Great to see Jupiter and it's moons, cheered me up after the sad shot of BN2899 and SF2888 😟
That Tucson "Window of Opportunity" shot was NEAT!
hello virtual railfan it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Wow, that bull elk certainly had his hands--er, hooves--full! I also always love the Happy Honkers of Chehalis; they're even happier (and honkier) than the one in Altoona. Keep up the great work!
Remember when the Goodyear blimp was silver?
5::45 - Must've lost a contact lens.
11:03 - Aw, that poor yelloebonnet.
2:18 AND 8:20
Rain and a train.
You need to make a 10 hour video that’s nothing but. THIS is sleeping noise.
Somehow I think the only way “runners” will be possibly stopped will be to do what I’ve seen in Europe and Asia and that’s to completely close off crossings with gates.
4:16 Oh look! It's the Goodyear killer whale!
2.00. Easy to see which unit is doing all the Work!
12:51 That's new power for the NCRC (Nebraska Central)
Wait......
I'M GOING FOR INTERCEPT ON IT
3:40 - A 'keyhole' of opportunity.
Well at least that’s not a Led Zeppelin 😁👍
Nice footage of Jupiter and lots of great EMD and GE locomotives!🛤🚂
That buck was having none of it...
Act6, I think he wanted ALL of it!😂
Nice footage

We need to have an all darwin video
Re. BNSF 2868: "A little duct tape, a few pounds of Bondo, it'll be fine.
Super. BNSF SD70MAC Executive, the Riverboat, the Jeep at La Grange. However the time being taken to repair the Pavements there has upstaged anything that a UK local Authority could ever manage. Perhaps they could ask the Railroad MOW crews to finish it for them.
Not sure what you mean about La Grange. A couple years ago CSX tore up the street, ripped out the tracks, resurfaced the sub-roadbed; installed new track and repaved the street.
I mean that if you back-track thru Grab Bags, those pavements have been half-finished, for a long time - which leaves me a bit puzzled.@@J3scribe
I don't see where pavement is half finished.@@gp3829
Chessie System @16:53 on the locomotive ❤
And again at 17:17
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😻

C’mon NS… get a couple F40PH to pull that train.
Or atleast a matching paint
I wish id joined sooner before they got rid of the f7s that pulled it
It's certainly a beautiful paint job and a real shame the power don't do do it justice...
NOT Sure Why they Didn’t Simply Disable the Crossing Arms in the UP Position during the Rail Section Replacement in Princeton, IN ? 🤔🤪👎
What the heck? Those new condos in Tucson get a view of the train yard? For free?
If anyone wants to know why they aren't going to fix that wrecked Santa Fe Unit at 10:14 , the reason is written on the bottom of the cab...
NSF - Non Sufficient Funds
At 11:28 it is interesting how they put their bucket down on the ground to lift the weight off the machine's tracks at the exact moment the tracks would otherwise be putting weight on the (good) railhead and scratching it.
As we all can tell, the letters are left over from BNSF. I think there is plenty of parts available from what I’ve seen in storage yards like LTEX for example.

I think that one sailed right by you there.
9:52 RIP Lubbock's BN and ATSF duo
How did that accident happen? Was it a derail, or did they get t-boned?
@@DulcimeristVacuum truck ran around the gates and got hit at 55MPH. Driver unfortunately didn't survive.
Those poor engines from Lubbock! Does anyone know if they’ll be repaired, or even if they’ll be repainted onto BNSF H4?
This is pretty cool that we get to see some amazing locomotives and shots from your live cams Virtual Railcam!
Nice mix as usual.
The intro is back nice
15:30 how do you get kind of optical magnification from a railcam? That's a very nice catch!
YEAH!!!! The intro is back!! Thank You!
2:20 I have to figure that there isn't anything wrong with the NS engines, unless there's some miracle that made them both have a problem. It's probably a wet radiator suddenly being flooded with hot water, making the rain evaporate.
Yes; the rain has them all steamed up. More sudden rain on hot radiator.
And the steamless ones aren't running
Love the longer grab bags
*Awesome*

Dear Amtrak, PLEASE go back to Phase III livery.
13:49, NS AC44C6M 4700!
Missed a lot of cool stuff from La Plata in this grab bag
everyone at every camera can just about say the same. Joe does an amazing job to take the hundreds of events every day and distill it to the few that appear here and give it an even hand.
he sure does.. We cannot get every event in a grab bag! @@jamesmckenzie3532
Thank You!@@jamesmckenzie3532
@@joepeach997 YW Joe. Keep up the good videos of amazing trains and events all over.
@@annaf7812 but he can get every event in a grab bag. and he will.
15:29 JUPITER
1:25 - New NS ACE units? Trying to figure out the significance there.
Nice.😊
6:37 - Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed!
Roger, ready to move out.
20:53 4x8
Never seen an intermodal train with that many engines.
What is the object at 4:25?
One of the Goodyear blimp fleet used primarily for aerial TV shots of sporting events, advertising (thru use of lighted signs on envelope), etc.
16:20 who's railroad was that one?
Says NS on the cab, but was formerly Central Maine & Quebec Railway.
@@J3scribe only lasted 6 years CP Rail took them over in 2020
Anyone know what the Santa Fe engine ran into?
👍👍👍👍👍🍀
I can't find the Darwin
Darwin was at the very beginning in front of Amtrak train
@@droads9986 thanks
I wonder how long that pickup was before it started dodging trains...@@droads9986
0:15 - Raced across the tracks in a flimsy vehicle.
3:56 door of opportunity not window of opportunity XD
We wanted to put a twist on it and most understand. You are LOOKING, not walking.
And I thought the pausing on the American flag was cool but then the C&NW logo was super cool also. That was fun to watch.
@@joepeach997
We all understood, I guess except for one🤣😀
What is up the the livery on NS 3987 @16:21?
Probably the same as the string of old CSX units that were earlier in the video at Elkhart. Likely retired units that are being moved to other lines. Look at the Nashville commuter line. They use retired Amtrak power. the same is true of many railroads. When companies like CSX replace units they sell them to other powers. CN for example gets many old UP units. I've lost count of the times I've seen Canadian National trains coming through my town with obvious old UP units..
It's still wearing its old Central Maine & Quebec livery.
@@Dulcimerist thanks
There Not Csx Locomotives Anymore In Elkhart Indiana In 2:41
Is There Something Good News In 3:27 ?
Yes - The Great Plains Transportation Musem (host of the Wichita, KS cam) recently launched a campaign to do a full cosmetic restoration of ATSF 93. This was someone from the museum speaking with a local TV station about it.
