Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"! !
Wow, I love Sky Bear--he's a biggie. I love old 1309. Keep up the great work!
Always like it when I see kids out there waving at the trains instead of throwing rocks at them! That's the next generation of Railfans!
Excellent catching all the trains in multiple locations, including the Southern Pacific locomotive, a BNSF geometry train, and a steam engine, Virtual Railfan, thank you.
Very cool grab bag. That 1309 looks amazing and I hope that 734 will gets renovated soon. I cannot wait until the next one comes out.
9:14 Always good to see an EMD F unit and an old AC at that. Long live the F family and RIP WC/AC, you are missed.
Just when you thought ALL the 🤪 Reside in Greene County (Springfield, MO) and you Remind us some of them relocated to Kentucky. Thank you, Kentucky. 👍🙏
Love the steam at Cumberland!
Bro you’re everywhere 😂😂
I agree tho
@@upchessbyabzoluteYesterday was my friend Arianna South's birthday.
I've seen both of those cruise ships in Red Wing before. Would love to take a cruise on one of them. Just saying. Have a blessed day everyone
Anyone else find 1309's valve gear mesmerising?
Ever since I got my first Tyco 0-4-0 in HO, watching the valve gear of any steam loco has been wonderful.
I wonder how old that engine is?
@@starling5188 74 years old...
Great to finally see it running on its own power without a Diesel escort...
@@johnpinckney4979 Only 74? Young for a steam locomotive.
Cumberland. Steam. WOW! Need I say more? 😁
Steam train is a living creature😊
Great Grab ! Some Great LOCOS and some seldom seen boxes... Thanks for the great compilation !
@1:42 that R3SL Doppler effect is awesome!
Always interesting things in the Bag!
Yeah, I'm gonna check-out the P&S GP10 seen at Ashland.
Now We Have Two Bears now Sky & Buddy Bear 😂
I got a model HO scale 4-8-8-2 cab ahead in 1967. I didn't see a video of a real one till 2014, of all the articulated steam locomotives I think the cab ahead had the most pleasing stack talk, I didn't know till then that just a decade before I got that model all of the 4-8-8-2s were cut up for scrap not one was saved in a museum, oh the sorrow.
There’s one left in Sacramento, CA. Southern Pacific AC-12 class number 4294
That towing company at LaGrange must be making a fortune just removing morons off the tracks!
They probably have a pool going on how many they'll end up with by year's end!😄😄
😋😋😋@@b3j8
The flatbed truck business in
La Grange is very busy. $$$
BNSF SD70MAC 9826 at Elkhart and P&S GP10 at Ashland were nice to see as well as the Seattle & North Coast Boxcar at Covington - another RR to checkout.
One wonders where the Seattle & North Coast Boxcar has been all these years. BNSF is over 25, and the BN was first formed in the '70s. That car has to be hitting retirement soon. Great to see, I wonder if I can find one in N scale.
Hi, I wonder where I can find one in HO Scale, especially here in the UK.@@thomasboese3793
I saw the GP10 yesterday in person at our railroad but it broke down
It just will not stop!
Pretty sure that’s the Jaws theme coming from 8721 in Chahalis!
I'm waiting for the one when CSX shows them how to move a car from the track 😂
wow great
the Seattle North Coast RR is now a Rail Trail! Olympic Discovery Trail.
Nice footage
🎊🌳🇮🇳🌳🎊
Always enjoy your videos. Can you return to full color for the steam engines?
Life was in color during the age of steam. Only the photography was in black & white because that was all they had.
11:02 I work at the Rocky Mount NC intermodal terminal and the train that the PS GP10 was attached to is our inbound train to unload and it was at our yard yesterday and it broke down
Great bag of videos we have come to expect from yourself, to the nut case, Their are better ways to catch a train, Maybe not just get glasses but hearing aids as well, people will never learn will they, okay basic primary school 101, never try yo take on a big train, result could be very damaging and might cost you your life unless you like Hospital.
Great Video, Thanks Again.
The Zebra # 4010 is as Wm Baird said an ex CN GP40-2W or GP40-2LW that would have been numbered in the 9400-9676? number range when CN owned it
The 4010 number is one the current owner would have given it
*Nice*
Finally some entertaining from LaGrange. They have been off stage for some time now ...
Funny how the inhabitants of La Grange seem to have taken over from Ashland in the wannabe railcars stakes.
1309 at Cumberland! ❤️❤️❤️
🐻
I saw the NS Geometry train go by while walking in the park in Harrisburg, NC, the afternoon of Sept 28th...
That little park is a great place to watch trains all day. There used to be a miniature railroad that ran around the park grounds a few years ago.
@@oriolesfan7807 It's a great place to watch, but there's just not enough trains going by. I usually go there to walk around the same time one of the Amtrak Piedmonts is going to be rolling by; if I happen to see any other trains it's a bonus.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🍀💯
Sky bear is going to attack somebody someday. They need to shoo him back through the woods.
The locomotive at 9:14 is the Potomac Eagle. It premiered in a movie
I don't understand the CN 4010 , the number is of a GP9RM but it have a comfort cab like a GP40-2W , I am confused 😮
I was confused as well but all the GP40s were renumbered in the 90s to a 9000 series so this has to be a GP9rm
@TonyVRailfanning yes the number is of a GP9RM but these don't have a comfort ( wide ) cab !!!
@@TonyVRailfanningok my friend came back to me with the answer , its not a CN loco anymore :
WAMX 4010 GP40-2LW Ex-CN 9456
@@louisletourneau3429 wow, so they renumbered it to its original CN number. Thanks for the clarification and the info on its new owner
@@TonyVRailfanning Renumbering it back to the original number can make it easier for shop record keeping. Those logbooks can get thick.
What sound does a bear make when hit by a locomotive at speed? 'Splat!'
The zebra unit wasn't a GP9RM it was a GP40-2W
1:49 that's not a GP9RM, that's a GP40-2LW
1:48 more like GP40-2W to me
1309 needs to get on the main and loosen the reigns
WAMX 4010 ex-GP40-2LW CN
Look like LaGrange has taken Ashland's place now
Frankenloco BNSF 4331 at Minute 12:21 !!!
La Grange always got problems
there are an aweful lot of blind drivers in america
More like straight up dumb that’s basically what the trend is for America is to be as dumb as possible
Compared to which country?
how can you not see a hole in the road that size you sit that side of the car to drive it
Do they ever learn, street..tracks..
The number of cars on the tracks is itself proof of improper engineering of the road and marking. The track geometry is unexpected by drivers and some will make an incorrect assumption, like it's just some new kind of highway surface.
As the old saying goes "Assume makes an A** of U and Me". Don't know how many perfectly made roadways there are but will bet there there are almost infinitely more that aren't.
Was taught a good driver should always be attentive to roadway and driving conditions not leaving anything to chance or "assumptions"-otherwise they are "accidents waiting to happen"!
The first rule of driving: LOOK! Please tell me why the driver was going the wrong way on a two-way street? Odd road pattern? Absolutely, but it's broad daylight.
@ 10:35 not again
Maybe La Grange could by start by limiting the hours the liquor stores are open. Then, they could have a city-wide vision screening for glaucoma and cataracts.
13:30 Nuclear Reactor?
No, it's a large electrical transformer for an electric power substation.
Second
you were second
🥈
Is this even happening
SERIOUSLY.....WTH do these people do for fun?????? if this is it, i pity Lagrange.
Why bother with cars on the track, the next locomotive will move them off😂
Not funny at all.
Bone head comment of the day.......not COOL!
Was that really necessary for you to post that comment?
Love the steam!! and Sky-Bear!! But, no Revelstoke at all today??
Another action packed episode of Virtual Railfan
Grab Bag with the greatest trains around the US
and Canada going down the tracks or someone
that isn't wanting to wait for the train to go by
It's either La Grange KY or Ashland VA and there
is always a Darwin Candidate on here to prove it
Thank You very much.❤❤🤠😎❤❤
