Yes. I was going to say the same thing. Can't believe this guy could get something that is so obvious to any Michigan fan that wrong. He even added the commentary that Threet was a better fir for Loyd Carr, as if that was an informed observation. I stopped watching the video as soon as he said that.
To be fair, every school has lists like this. There's also plenty of great college quarterbacks that were terrible in the nfl. There's more tim tebows than Tom bradys
@@chrisjamesr77Hah, but he should get a nice welcome home greeting when in Detroit. JJ brought a championship to Michigan (regardless of the cheating allegations)
@@missingbuck Oh definitely! I bet he does, the first time he's announced at Ford Field as the opposing starting QB. BTW, I think those "cheating allegations" were blown out of proportion anyway. But that's a whole other topic I guess, lol
JJ actually grew up as an Ohio State fan, not a Michigan fan. However he felt that Ryan Day lied to him during recruitment because he said they wouldn't take a QB in that recruiting class until end of summer but took Kyle McCord in April of that year. He then committed to Michigan.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t hear Shane morris. I remember Brady hoke chucked him back in a game when he was clearly concussed. He transferred to Minnesota the next year
He wasn't put back into the game, he took another players helmet and went back into the huddle without anybody knowing. At least thats the story I heard.
@@tonysalveta3997a different helmet doesn't change the jersey number. If I recall correctly, he even ran over toward the sidelines a couple of times asking to come out and Hoke signaled for him to stay in.
It would have been cool to start at '97 and done every QB they had between national championships. I know its really only adding 2 but would have been a nice touch.
Drew Henson might be the biggest what if in CFB history. An insane recruit with insane talent who just never took football as seriously as baseball despite being a better football player
his 2000 junior year was fire. that team blew two 18 point 2nd half leads and shouldve been playing in the national championship game that season. if he wouldve stayed with football he wouldve easily been a first round draft pick maybe top 10 if he played one more season at Michigan
Some guys just like one sport more than the other, even if they’re better at the other. Jeff Samardzjia did the same thing but he actually had an unexpectedly good baseball career. However, he was almost a sure fire first round NFL draft pick as a receiver.
Yea I’m still pissed at drew henson , besides blowing the 2 18 point leads that season, he still end beating Ohio on the road that year, if he would’ve came back the next season, with the receivers we had, the sky was the limit, and he’s the reason why John Navarre saw the field at all, nothing personal against Navarre, but he shouldn’t have never started three straight years for us, they under recruited the qb position in the 2000s.
I wasn’t alive to watch Drew Henson play but I was alive to watch Devin Gardner play and he was probably the second biggest what-if. He was so talented and it was completely wasted on those terrible teams. If he played for another team he could’ve really been great but I respect him for staying
Actually, I think it was Ohio State that was JJ's favorite team growing up. When he got older and was recruited by Ohio State, he was told by the Bucks staff that they were not going to take a quarterback commit by the end of the summer. That summer, Kyle McCord (of all people) committed to Ohio State by that time and JJ accused the staff of lying to him. He would then commit to Michigan and when asked about Ohio State, he said "I used to love them, now I want to kill them". Sure enough, JJ went undefeated against the Buckeyes and he's a national champion. His last Ohio State win was against Kyle McCord. Full circle moment.
As a lifetime Michigan Fan, Cleveland Browns, and Chicago Bears (QB woes), i feel your pain. Robinson definitely made Michigan Relevant again. The dude was must watch TV like Woodson was. Average QBs but historically solid in putting out every other position on Sundays! Go Blue
Not a bad video but you had a bit too many factual inaccuracies in here. First off, Drew Henson only threw one pick in the NFL, not nine. Secondly, Chad Henne threw for 13,290 yards in his career, not 1,300. Finally, Rich Rodriguez was in his first year as coach when Steven Threet started in 2008. It was the year after Lloyd Carr’s last season. This was just in the first four and a half minutes of a 15-plus minute video. I didn’t even fact check the rest of it.
@jamesleonard5307 very true. Elvis & Brian were starters for the front half of there career. Todd was the ultimate backup. He could ride the bench all years long, but when he came in the game he'd play well. I always remember that playoff win late in his career. I think it was for Washington.
Your facts are completely wrong Lloyd Carr never coached Steven threet, Lioyd Carr retired after the 2007 season. Rich Rod was the coach at the beginning of the 2008 season
While he is wrong about who the coach was for Steven Threet when he actually started but Lloyd Carr did actually coach Threet though, he transferred there in 2007 and was 3rd on the depth chart behind Henne/Mallet.
The biggest question this year for Michigan.....Ohio State ran their 2023 quarterback out of town, yet they get a grad transfer from Kansas State that is a stud. Where was Michigan? We have to pick from a running quarterback that isn't as fast as Denard, but also can't throw - Alex Orji .....or Jack Tuttle (now out of football) or Davis Warren, a senior that has his first taste of college football starting. Why couldn't we get a transfer?
My Wolverines suck again. There’s no joy for me in college football, so I mean could you do a rise and fall between the 2023-2024 Michigan football program?
Nick Sheridan is easily the worst QB I’ve ever seen play football at any level. Terrible decision maker and I don’t think he can throw a football beyond 20 yards.
If only Denard could pass, he would have been greater. The problem is that teams dared him to pass by playing Michigan to run and shut us down. Also, it would be third and 6 and Denard would throw a 25 yard pass (for example) that be poorly done, instead of a shorter, more high percentage throw. Devin Gardiner was never developed and actually declined in his play every year. That is the fault of poor coaching.
John Navarre was by no means a top recruit in 1999…. Even Wisconsin (home state) told him he wouldn’t see the field as a qb because Barry Alvarez knew he was mediocre at best.
If the transfer portal was available to rich Rodriguez when he came in 08, imagine him bringing pat white and Steve breaston with him , rich rod might still be coaching for Michigan if that was possible back then, that would’ve set us up for the future instead of setting us back for years because pat white was that good and rich rod spread was that effective, it was exactly what Michigan needed at the time, instead we lost to Toledo in 08 😒😒, absolutely pathetic
I cannot understand how a program like that has had such a weak ass quarterbacks. How could they have so many week quarterbacks when harbaugh was a former NFL coach and former quarterback at Michigan
They sure could use one now. And hairball back stealing signals to. What happens when they strip them of that tainted natty. Moore may not last another season. No recruits coming either. It’s great to be a buckeye. We still have integrity at least.
Gardner was the best one they had for a while .. atleast he was when they played osu..Those were games where it was literally whoever had the ball last won.. McCarthy is mixed in with the cheating situation so Icant add him and he really can’t throw ..
wdym he really cant throw he completed 72% of his passes and was 3rd in the nation in qbr last year not to mention that he was second among qbs in throw power at the combine only 1 mph behind joe milton
