People criticising Goldbridge for getting ahead of himself. Yes he is, but remember that 90-95% of his video titles are to encourage and increase engagement, views etc. Don't take it too seriously people 😅
I do believe that football tournaments can play a part considering how many players were away with national teams but now it's almost about to be the end of July, players rejoining clubs for their pre-season (some being left out to be transferred) so August will definitely be huge in terms of activity being done.
I'd say Villa have done really well getting Maatsen, Onana and even got Archer back from Sheffield United for a profit so it's early to say who's won the window.
I'll say Yoro is definitely a good signing for United, unsure on Zirkzee atm as I've not seen him play.
Lots of clubs may be working hard in the background but you are right in saying a lot of clubs have not made many moves at the moment.
Regarding Aston Villa, I wouldn't say it's down to FFP entirely, Diaby did not produce as much as I'd expect given he was their club record transfer, maybe they are blessed in the wide areas? If an offer like that comes in for Saudi, you should jump at the chance, essentially selling him for the same price they bought him for a year ago, I'd say it's smart business! Onana has shown moments of class and I am wondering how he does under Emery.
All this being said and I'm a Liverpool fan who's seen absolutely nothing in the window, who knows what August holds 🤞

Coming from a Spurs fan, I'm very happy with our business so far. Archie Gray coming in from Leeds, beating Barcelona to Lucas Bergvall, extending the Werner loan. Still work to be done, but we're getting a decent amount of deals done under the radar at the moment.

As a Villa Fan, Ive loved our transfer window, I think its been great. Utd's has been too for sure, full respect, but y'all can also spend more than us because you make more than us. Villa have had to be creative and I think they've done a great job. Also Dougie was awesome and he will absolutely be missed but he wasn't our best midfielder, Kamara was, he was probably second slightly above Mcginn.

I think my team Southampton having only just got promoted are doing well in the transfer window. Done quite a few good signings and some more promising signs of a striker and a good left back so I think out of the promoted sides I think Southampton are probably doing the best. Personally a lot of people will say Saints will go down and there’s no point in saying what I have just said. Russ hasn’t even had a chance to prove himself yet. He’s a young manager learning and anyone has the chance to surprise you. Look at Bournemouth. So I’m fairly optimistic

The financial rules coupled with the fact that transfers inbetween premier league clubs are historically more expensive, especially for the british players, will ultimately lead to a massive drain in talent from the premier league add that to the fact that clubs are now financially incentivised to sell academy players for maximum profit and imo the rules need to be changed
