Astonishingly unique. This presentation only brings a gust of nostalgia for the music of those early 2000’s, so different… full of poetry & quality, in dark contrast to the poor one of these days…
Björk is the best, so beautiful and pure! Her music doesn’t even make me crave the zeitgeist or culture of the 90s or early 2000s because she is so utterly, fantastically individualistic that I don’t identify her music with an era because she was light years ahead of everyone, the music she made in the 90s and 2000s doesn’t feel like “90s/early 2000s music” to me. But I totally get what you’re saying about the 90s/early 2000s music was much more real feeling and visceral, compared to the garbage that’s being pumped out today and called music. 🤨
I remember when this first came out back in 01. I was at a friend's place with a bunch of other people and we were all just bs'ing/joking around about whatever, then this came on. The chatter slowly died down and we all just sat and watched this whole thing almost in silence, completely captivated by this siren. I especially remember when she sang Unravel and was walking through the audience, my heart... When it was over, we were all just talking about how great that was... lol.
Those random interruptions of the other Bjork performance on this VHS tape are hilarious. Very Max Headroom. As if we're being sold a subliminal message about watching Bjork.... while watching Bjork. Still, thanks for uploading this amazing concert. Bjork is a genius in the truest sense of the word, and this is a beautiful time capsule of something very special.
Generous Palmstroke always makes me cry, it's too moving... It speaks about love and surrender, it's beautiful. All Verspertine is beautiful and just moving. Björk, you're a true artist, you exude femininity in each song. Thank you for your art.
But what happened to the recording of this performance ? At moments they are disturbed by some strange fragments that don’t belong to the concert 🥺. The same counts for the synchronization of the sound with the video: it’s off 😟. It’s a pity such a beautiful concert gets ruined by this.
@@Koga-Ed it looks like its getting interrupted with her mtv unplugged concert of songs from debut. that's also a great concert. this recording is a couple decades old; its really a blessing that it's not completely unwatchable.
This was one of the best days of my life, considering I attended her first concert prior to this one where she wore a beautiful off white dress. She came out in white heels, took them off and starting singing. she was nervous at first, that for the first song all she did was stare at the ceiling of the chapel. However by the time this concert rolled by she was back to her seasoned self. While waiting on line for this, I was on the line with my two mates & in front of me were SNL cast members Horatio Sans & Maya Rudolph. At the end of concert one of my friends had an icecream she had bought hours before melt, so we went through a door which security told us was the bathroom. It was a bathroom all right! It was also doubling for her dressing room. This whole era was pure magic. Pre 911 too. I too was in Love so this album is sacred to me. I love how she was hinting that she had a bun in the oven too. Alas! 'tis life. Vulnicura is about finding strength through a stabbing of the soul, which i too have been going through but i'm finally healing.Bjork = Music Muse. She Is My Saga Queen
The bathroom was empty. But i've seen her several times, since then. Also, when I saw her in Housing Works Bookstore Cafe (Dirty Projects gig) - once again she was an arms reach away. As a true NYer living here 4 decades - I've seen my share of "stars" n I just give them their space. Possibly why they love NYC. Oh yeah, don't mean to show off, but she performed some of these songs twice since it was a taping for Reverb. at 21:17 in the beginning of Unravel you can hear my dumbass. I truly could go on & on about how magical this whole era was, for instance while I was on line for the first performance I had found a gorgeous silver bracelet with a small heart and the initials VR (VespeRtine). Or how my close friend's first born was born the day before, etc etc etc. M A G I C A L TIMES
That is why I like Bjork so much. Her unique approach to music. And of course, because she has a voice that is among the five most beautiful female voices IMHO... And she certainly released one great CD after another in 1992-2012. After that period, she lost me a bit as a fan. However, I will always think fondly of her: great as an artist, and she seems to have a very nice personality too... 👍😊
I first saw this in 2002... I was captivated then just as much as I am now.... Previously I had never heard of her but since I saw this I have been a fan ever since... Her music cannot be described by mere words.. it can only be felt by the emotion it induces... She is truly in the class of her own... When I hear her songs I am at peace.
This was Possibly Maybe her best tour. I love the Royal Opera House recording. This stands alone because of the intimacy and the fact that all of her performances are unique and special, so I love it also. The interview is precious. Love the harp, too. Thanks.

That last look on her face, at the end of Pagan Poetry, "I love him, I love him, ... but he makes me want to hurt myself." Just to say those words aloud is proof of experience but that look in her eyes, she really went back there to feel it again.
