    Got my aerofabb V2 splitter installed tonight. This video was a huge help. Aerofabb has very solid and thought out instructions but the video did help quite a bit as well as the personal help! Thanks for making this and keep up the great work! 🙏🙏🙏

    Installed the V2 on my GTI couple weeks ago and it’s super clean looking. Took a few hours for me though because removing the bumper was the most difficult part of this. It was fun to see the inner workings of the engine though once the bumper was off. I give you credit for filming and talking your way through the install, it would’ve taken me so much longer to finish haha.

    • @Vaguh

      It definitely takes longer filming and making sure you all can see what the heck I'm doing! Way to do it solo!

    Thanks for the awesome review, really enjoying your content so far! I'm trying to decide between these and the Flow designs v2, how do these sit in terms of height compared to your previous splitter? I'm a bit concerned about scrapping!

    • @Vaguh
      @Vaguh  3 года назад +1

      Hey! I didn’t measure exactly, but I’d guess the aerofabb might sit about 1/4” higher than the Flow Designs one I had due to the thickness. With the FD I would occasionally lightly scrape when pulling into my driveway, but that hasn’t happened with the aerofabb yet. What I don’t like about the FD is that there is no additional attachment or reinforcement options for North American spec cars. The FD crossbar mount is made only for the Euro spec cars that have a lower radiator crossbar. The only way to get that is by getting an entire euro crash beam.

    I need one for the S3 🤤

    • @Vaguh
      @Vaguh  3 года назад

      Yes! Get a splitter! Unfortunately aerofabb doesn't make one for the S3, but there are some other similar options out there.

    Love the look and the kit seems super well put together. Great work on the video explaining all the details of the job and the extra tools one might need.
    Do you notice any additional wind noise at highway or other speeds? Is there any rattling or wobbling with these front splitters? Does this change the way the front end steers when driving at speed? I’m just curious if this is a more cosmetic mod or is there some concrete performance benefits you have felt.
    Small suggestion for the Areofab team:
    The Aerofab decal they mount in the small pocket at the front would be improved by simply milling out their logo right in the splitter material. The decal breaks up the clean appearance IMO and could deteriorate over the years. Even possibly falling out with exposure to rain/wind/sun/etc.
    Thanks for another awesome video!

    • @Vaguh
      @Vaguh  3 года назад +1

      Thanks, bud! Honestly I haven’t noticed any additional wind noise and definitely no rattles. It would be interesting to see how much deflection there is at speed if I could set up a camera, but I’m guessing very little. I haven’t been in a driving scenario where I’ve been able to tell a difference with the splitter, but it is intended to provide downforce. Tbh, I’m in it for the looks and the performance is a total bonus.

    • @ryanthomastew
      @ryanthomastew 3 года назад +1

      @@Vaguh Yeah something like this would definitely be a cosmetic mod for me too - any performance improvement is just icing on the 'R' cake. Thanks man!

  • @lagerace227

    Nicely done.
    Now I can see exactly how it would look on my car with my summer Cadiz wheels.
    How much lower does it hang below the stock splitter?

    • @Vaguh
      @Vaguh  3 года назад +1

      At the outer edges it is only the thickness of the material down (1/4”) and about an inch outward. At the tip of the nose it is about 1.5” lower and 1” outward.
