I'm so happy with how Lanolin was presented after learning about Mimic. No one villainized her, no one made her out to be innocent. No one fully defended or fully yelled at her. They just said they'd talk about it later, but they knew she was trying her best even if it didn't work out for her.
Yep, and she realizes too that she fluffed up by not trusting Tangle and Whisper more due to how Mimic when he was Duo played her so well, working off her ignorance and denseness to his advantage. It's reasonable why Tangle even said she was still miffed with her, since Lanolin DID deserve it, even as she was trying to do her best as a leader, but having that mentality of a "perfect" leader rather than realizing the militaristic approach she has had can need flexibility.
No joke, I actually like the Babylon rogues in IDW. They actually seem like they could be good people at heart, especially Wave. She actually seems like a genuinely good person.
i mean, they were never suppose to be evil. they are meant to be selfish and arrogant (and in storm's case just dumb), but they are still "human" and their arrogance comes from a justifiable location (their skill)
Deliciously poetic that Clutch, even if unintentionally but uncaringly, threw Mimic under the bus like Mimic himself has done to others so many times in the past.
@@videogollumer What did you think of HOW he was unmasked? personally I think it could've been done better with Whisper and Tangle being the ones to catch out Mimic with the footage on Whisper's mask and Mimic's own slip of the tongue in the previous issue.
@@RobertJames-i8j In regard to Lanolin, maybe; but in regard to Mimic, it couldn't be more cathartic. Clutch essentially betrayed Mimic by blowing his cover. It was the most sudden and most against Mimic's will way he could have been revealed. Mimic didn't even follow the orders Clutch gave him that exposed him; he scrambled for cover as frantically as a roach stuck on its back in broad daylight.
It seems like intentionally bad writing his was outed so easily considering how smart and calculating he’s been at this point that he’d make amateur mistake like not setting his radio to silent or something. That and he didn’t actually do anything. Same for surge and kit actually. The series is really underselling how powerful and dangerous Mimics ability is.
7:19 "It's been a long time since I left a pack of would-be heroes _bleeding out on the floor._ *_Ah, memories."_* Clutch really went in with that speech bubble. Also, for some reason I can't help but read him while hearing Michael Dobson as Pythor...
Wait, Pythor? From ninjago? because if it's him, then yeah, i can agree Edit: i checked and he was Pythor's voice actor, ugh i forgot he was in the show. Then yeah i can agree, he is Pythor, now that is my headcanon voice
When whisper said she’d made a mistakes too I was like oh yeah when recruiting mimic and getting your team killed, I was so sad hearing that, but it wasn’t her fault. It was all mimic.
I think she was referring to the time when she brushed Lanolin aside to attack Mimic when he was disguised as Duo (before Lanolin pinned her) in an earlier issue and when she yelled at the audience and frightening them in this issue just to find Mimic.
@@93SuperSonic I think it's more of the mistakes she made since leaving the restoration in issue 45, such as leaving in general, getting herself into trouble with Surge and being quiet with Tangle during the urban warfare arc, but at least her mistakes and those of Tangle's were not as numerous and insufferable as Lanolin's and they're played more for sympathy. but, yeah, perhaps her mistakes in issue 64, getting physical with Lanolin, though more the sheep's fault than hers, and allowing herself to be gaslit and doubting herself into thinking that she misguided Silver and hurt an innocent person
In the annual comic, where does three short stories of them shows mimics origin and whisper was just like tangled and was impressed by mimics transformations and she’s the reason he’s on their team it’s tragic and so many levels. Her team probably would’ve been alive if she didn’t invite mimic to the team mimic has hurt her so many ways and emotionally if he does anymore I’m pretty sure tangled’s gonna kill him
Lanolin owes Silver a big apology after this. He had Mimic made from the start, and they dismissed him. I would also like to point out that Surge hit Sonic with what I am assuming is all her bioelectricity, and Sonic got up seconds later. Is she even a real challenge to him if he can shrug something like that off?
I don't want to make Surge look weak but... Did you see her fights? The only time she was a threat was with the Dynamo Cage, the other two times She fought by her own, Sonic defeated her not looking very tired, and Metal was crushing her until Kit appeared to the rescue, even Eggman in a mecha by his own was able to give her a hard time.
@@xabier3932 Yeah, which makes it even more weird that she wants a fair 1v1 when she stole the wisp, burned a forest, and worked with Clutch. She will need some serious feats if she wants to stack up.
@@ScarletSpectacles You are completely right, I still remember how she taunted Metal saying "You aren't good enough to be my copy" or how she complained when Sonic and Metal fought together against her and the Dynamo Cage like She didn't double team Metal a few issues behind. And about her new attack, I also agree, Sonic woke up in seconds and started to act like always, and Eggman seems about to put "Surge protector" on his mechas, and I think that includes Metal so, unless Ian wants, Surge should lose all 1 VS 1 against these guys (Sonic, Shadow, Metal, etc...)
Youre not wrong but also not right. Yes Surge is still more Bark then Bite to Sonic, but she is getting stronger. A couple off Arcs ago Surge would not be able to pull this off, without straight up fainting, if at all.
@@kommo1 Ah, I see what you mean. And, honestly, Surge could've sent Kit to kill Sonic when he was down. But I am sure that Eggman would've stopped him. You know the whole 'he is mine to destroy' trope.
It's not just Lanolin, I think the whole team owe one another an apology. Even if Lanolin did bad, she did what she thought was her best, and she's still new to this gang of heroes. If anything, Tangle and whisper owe some explanation and apologies too as it's not just her that should take all the fall. They need to finally work together as a team, that means all of them owing up what they messed up in
@@paulderitis7861 If Lanolin was never here, things would have ran 90% more smoothly! The way she behaved was downright offensive, uncalled for, and just overall idiotic! She did the most damage by not trusting the OBVIOUSLY MORE TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE! She was WAY too big for her britches! NO ONE owes her an apology! SHE owes EVERYONE an apology!
@@Roxas2099ZX that may come in issues 76-80, along with some light reprimanding from Tangle. also, Lanolin owes Whisper an apology too, for not listening to her and tossing her to the ground
2:45 That look on Lanolin is so satisfying, she finally realized she goofed up big time, I'm glad she finally admitted how wrong she was at handling things, though I do wish it was more emotional then what we got in the end. Like tears with a heartfelt: I'm so sorry.
Maybe she'll do that if and when she gives her long awaited apologies to Silver. Speaking of, how do you think he's gonna feel now that his garden has been destroyed?
Feel like people are overplaying how much she should have apologized, people tend to overplay what lanloin really has done. The apology she did there was perfectly fine
@unkownunkown2420 I'm just hoping she apologies to Silver, I get her apology doesn't need to be over the top, but I just thought it would've been interesting to see.
And with that, that makes roughly two years and three entire story arcs that the Neo Diamond Cutters have accomplished absolutely nothing by themselves. Come to think of it, what the hell did "Duo" manage to do during his infiltration, either? But at the very least, Lanolin FINALLY realizes what an obtrusive moron she'd been, and now all that's left is to see her and the other Diamond Cutters apologize to Silver for all the shit that happened in #64.
Not what I had in mind though. perhaps they could've had Whisper and Tangle confront Duo on how he knew about them learning the phantom rider's identity (Lanolin probably being confused and somewhat irritated as to why they're doing it), Duo could try to defend himself by lying about where he could've heard it, but then Lanolin realises that isn't true as she was with Duo the whole time so he had no opportunity to find out, meaning he was already there, and Tangle and Whisper would show the footage of the phantom rider and that there were TWO phantom riders, and they make the connection and realise that it's Mimic. When Lanolin, though with some hesitation and confusion on her words, bring up that it's already been established that he's NOT Mimic given that he didn't something Mimic would never do in issue 64, Tangle rebates it by saying that the evidence says other and theorises that maybe Mimic faked his injuries, thus cornering Duo, and THEN Clutch would make the call. after that, while Tangle and Whisper are chasing him, Lanolin doesn't just get shocked, but her realisations are also shown in thought bubbles, with one realisation of herself leading to the next and the next and so on. they did the added scene on a remake of archie sonic issue 50, so why not send a letter to IDW and ask for that added scene
I still think we could've had Whisper and Tangle work it out during the ride to the ship with the footage from Whisper's mask showing the difference between the phantom rider in misty spire and the one before (showing the possibility that Mimic was present), and also Duo's slip of tongue in which he somehow knew that Tangle and Whisper knew that Sonic was the phantom rider even though he was supposedly unconscious and couldn't have learn about it with Lanolin being with him the whole time and the Duo being so quiet (meaning Duo had to have been the second phantom rider). other than that, it was worth the wait, though the scattered pieces arc better have everything explained and out in the open, such as: 1-Why Sonic was the phantom rider 2-If Jewel already suspected Duo since issue 64 out of faith in Whisper's gut 3-the fact that team Sonic's boards were sabotaged, mainly to 4-Mimic impersonating the phantom rider and Surge 5-Lanolin fully realising ALL the mistakes she made and avoiding a karma Houdini 6-The fact that Clutch hired the Babylon Rogues in issues 65-66 as diversions to enable his deal without interference
10:07 My theory is that he is going to make Clutch into an android of his own like Surge & Kit. Eggman may still have Dr. Starline's paper files or his recorded video records during his experiments Surge & Kit. 🤔
That last panel is screaming “Dr. Starline will return” to me. I have a theory he’s going to have a mechanical arm or at least some disfigurement from surviving the collapse of Eggman’s city.
Given that shadow will have a new one shot for him after the movie,i could see it being possible, tho im not sure if doom had a back up body after the events of shadow generations (the larva in the ark was what revived him the first time)@@tompotter8703
@@tompotter8703 Finally, someone else who theorizes Black Doom appearing in the IDW comics. but perhaps Starline will also return, having been rescued from the wreckage of the city and then made into a cyborg, like Baxter Stockman from tmnt 2003, by that alien warlord. and Black Doom could be the main villain of a saga set in outer space
Actually his garden is untouched. you can see Amy standing at the house's front when the ship exploded. See the glass bottle chime hanging nearby at 20:08.
First of all, Silver was right all along, and it finally took Lanolin 13 issues later to know the truth up till now. Second, Sonic is right: That old opossum does not know how to run a business. Someone revoke Clutch his license and have him arrested for business fraud, kidnapping, smuggling weapons, and attempted murder.
lanolin shouldnt even dismissed the allegations against "duo", considering that Silver, and Whisper, especially Whisper (knows mimic more than anyone) are one of the most trusted characters. You cant just deny Silver bro 🙏@@RobertJames-i8j
The scenes with Lanolin in this issue were a huge reason why I was a lot more lenient with her behavior compared to most people. I figured it would be building towards some kind of character development, and I was right. I'm really curious to see what Eggman plans on doing with Clutch.
Is this pretty much the end of Clean Sweep Incorporated. 2:40 Mimic is leaving 3:49 Surge & Kit quit 4:46 His security guards quit and leave 5:24 Rough & Tumble quit 10:17 Clutch is being abducted by Eggman. Clutch is not having a good day.
But we've still got the upcoming scattered pieces arc, which will be the epilogue to the Cleansweep saga. as for future sagas, I hope one takes place after sonic frontiers and had Belle meet up with Sage, her sister. they WERE both made by Dr Eggman after all
If the series is going to keep him around, Eggman probably gives him the ultimatum "Tell me where you stored all of MY stuff you were selling, fully submit yourself to the Eggman empire and under my boot, and I MIGHT just find a use for you!" It probably would be the best possible outcome for Clutch, given that it's going to be INCREDIBLY difficult for him to build up something like Clean Sweeps Inc. again, given how he's definitely going to be sought after by every one of the heroes and authorities after this.
@@bthsr7113 True, but even a guy like him is still probably smart enough to recognize when his backs against the wall. His options are rather limited here, and if anything, working with Eggman is probably his best shot at not only staying alive, but to also to get some payback on Sonic and the Restoration if he plays his cards right.
Well, I gotta say, I'm rating this issue 8/10!! The fight scenes was really epic!! And Eggman taking Clutch was kinda unexpected, I was kinda expecting Clutch to fighting against Eggman after he successfully escaped, but this one's alright. As for Surge and Kit, they're finally get a chance to become heroes even though many characters may sees them otherwise after what they did to Sonic, what happened to them or what are they gonna do next we don't know, but it seems like looking for their pasts are no longer relevant and it seems like they started to become anti heroes. I would've rate this issue 9/10 if Mimic gets arrested or at least gets beaten first, but with him leaving his allies behind again should've makes him cornered even more. As for Lanolin. Tbh, I still hates her, but at least she can look where her mistakes at and admits it and didn't ended up like Starline. But I kinda feel sorry for the Restoration tho. Their HQ's destruction crippled them from fighting against evils and forcing them to focussing on recovering themselves first. And if it wasn't for the plot twist at the end of the issue, I would've rate this 10/10. And tbh, it wasn't disappointing, it's just unexpected. And judging from the background, I kinda assuming that Black Arms might be returning.
Yo! This issue was much better than I expected! Lanolin is finally having a character evolution and is redeeming herself, Sonic is doing epic things as usual, Surge seems to have gotten a little stronger (by the way, this art along with the Overcharge scene were GREAT!) but I still think that this is not enough to defeat Sonic without the help of the script, we know that when they have a fair fight using everything he has, Sonic will overcome her, now this ending made me very curious, who invaded Tails' lab? Where is this place where the Chaos Emerald is now? And all this mysterious vibe? Will we have a big and more serious saga on the way? I hope so!
I'm glad it dodged some emotional bullets, like Whisper getting into trouble for attacking Surge and seemingly hallucinating Surge provoking her when it was actually Mimic. now the reveal won't be so dramatic. A shame Surge's redemption arc is still continuing, but at least she gave Clutch what for. While Tangle and Whisper didn't get the chance to expose Mimic themselves, they were essential in figuring out that there was more to the phantom rider than how it appeared, relayed the info to Jewel who then got her priorities straighter, protect Sonic from Surge and Lanolin, convinced Lanolin to let go of her pursuit of the phantom, enabling Sonic to get Clutch, and helped guide the ship to safety (though that last one was more of a Lanolin stand out moment as she directed them to do so) As for the scenery in which the chaos emerald was in, could it be that the scattered pieces arc leads into sonic frontiers and what happens after issue 80 takes place afterwards. And i'd prefer if the next Saga was sci-fi based, with cyberspace, time travel and outer space
@RobertJames-i8j Personally, I prefer this transition to Frontiers to happen in issue 100. Fans are excited to see this happen and I think it would be possible to fit in an interesting story that connects with all of this so that issue 100 would have the double impact moment because, in addition to being a milestone for the comic, it would also come with a moment of importance. So, from issue 101 onwards, the post-Frontiers events would focus more on more serious plots, more action and perhaps even having new allies and enemies. It seems like a more accurate move to me, especially considering how eye-catching this would be
@Ryan-q2f but Starline died in issue 50, it was even confirmed by the writers and they themselves said that they would only bring a character back if SEGA told them to do so, which in the case of Starline was very unlikely because his fate was already sealed, I would bet more on a new enemy since this emerald plot seems like it will be developed little by little and will not be the main focus of the next arc according to the synopses that were released
@@luizmiguel5484 It's not the first time a company's rules have been broken. e.g. the said that Randal Boggs wouldn't come back in Monster at Work, but he did, albeit in season 2 finale
Ik I said this before and I'm NOT hating characters but bad actions but it kinda ticks me off that for kit there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for him to actually hate tails despite the disgusting coding ik about their tragic background but in the comic hero calling where kit coldy said he hates tails and called him a liar there where no interactions with him with tails throughout the whole riders arc not counting the sabotage. And I really hope a good change will come to them such as a spark of there memories will come back especially not being hypnotize anymore and hopefully that will changes surges attitude and her 'view' as what it means to be a true hero not just to be seen and having fake and glory. Plus I really like the scene where sonic didn't hesitate to show mercy to clutch even though anyone could have watched him b destroyed and even to surge and kit and eggman. Plus i really loved that lanolin finally became humble knowing her past actions had hurt her comrades and herself after being revealed about duo/mimic and I can't help but compare actions like that to the Bible 1 Corinthians 13:7 AMP [7] Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Luke 6:35-36 AMP [35] But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked. Proverbs 18:12 AMP [12] Before disaster the heart of a man is haughty and filled with self-importance, But humility comes before honor. ❤
At last, the babylon Rogues make a stand out moment. at first it seems as if they're just there for the sake of sonic riders nostalgia and that they're just there, but then ended up finding the solution to saving the city. clever plan Jet, clever plan
I wanna say I applaud the ending! So many twists and turns, loose ends to tie up, etc. I was not expecting Eggman to take Clutch away, what will happen with that? I think Sonic is going to be more on guard with Surge and Kit now. Lanolin has a lot to make up for, but that’s for another time. I can’t believe we lost the Restoration building, even Silver’s garden! But Tangle’s right, the people are the Restoration. And in the pocket of good news, Motobud is finally back! And what was that ending?! Is this the buildup to Frontiers?! Evan Stanley said that it hadn’t happened yet in this arc, but the platform was different. Oh boy! It was a great ending, and we will continue to new stories next year! (which is just a couple months)
While I still wish for Tangle and Whisper to have been the one to expose Mimic with the mask footage and his own slip of the tongue, and even Lanolin helps work it out a bit, and Clutch's call simply seals the deal, it was still a great ending, and they did lanolin well. seeing that Duo WAS Mimic WAS a catalyst to her improvement, because once she knew that, one realisation led to the next and the next and so on, but there are still some other mistakes she needs to find out about, like what really happened with team Sonic's boards in issue 69 and who REALLY attacked her in issue 71
As underwhelming as Mimic’s reveal was, it’s understandable. They needed to wrap up the arc quick, and they definitely succeeded at that. Also, that alter at the end reeks of Black Arms. I know it’s not red, but that’s probably just to not immediately give it away. Remember, we’re still in the Year of Shadow…
They remade archie sonic issue 50 with the added scene of Hershey laying the smack on Drago, so maybe, with some encouragement, they could remake IDW issue 77 with the added scene of Tangle and Whisper cornering Mimic with the footage that proves that the phantom rider at Misty Spire wasn't sonic and that sonic never actually hurt anyone, plus Mimic's own slip of the tongue that he somehow knew that tangle and Whisper found out that Sonic was the phantom rider even though he was supposedly unconscious at the time, with Lanolin even helping when he tries to explain how he learnt of that but then she shoots that down by saying that she was with him the whole time and therefore had no opportunity to find out, and THEN Clutch would make his move. Also, should Black Doom actually come back, and I'm actually hoping he does, then it's not just Shadow who'll have a personal beef with him: Dr Eggman: Black Doom manipulated his grandfather into make that Faustian deal with him, leading to the misunderstanding which led to the tragedy, and he might even take it personally Sonic: Black Doom tried to destroy the planet and EAT the inhabitants, including his friends Whisper: Black Doom's role in creating Shadow led to a basis for shadow android, including the ones who killed her old friends Tangle: same reason as Whisper Rouge: Black Doom messed with Shadow, her friend
I'm so glad that Rough and Tumble were able to help out Sonic's friends, Mimic's true identity was finally revealed and The Babylon Rogues as well as the citizens are pitching in to help save the people inside the ship as well as save the city from facing total destruction. Such a great way to wrap up the conclusion of The Phantom Rider Arc.
@@hannahbecker2309 what, for getting tricked and manipulated? She's not blameless, but the majority of the blame is always reserved for the duplicitous party.
and also there are other mistakes she made that she still needs to realise, such as disqualifying team sonic for "faulty gear" when their boards were actually sabotaged, that 'Duo' actually faked his injuries, and also that she saw the phantom rider all wrong and that it wasn't really him who attacked her in issue 71 by anyway, looks like the Lanolin hate has died down a bit, and I'm glad, though I still won't forget what happened in issue 64
@Khronen-r3u Thanks! I thought when I saw the antennas it was originally part of the dynamo cage. She let Kit salvage what was left in a way to amplify her electricity, and next panel, we see how strong she can be.
That was so cool! I really loved it. Not sure what mischief Surge and Kit will get up to in the next issue, but I'm hyped. And how did Clutch escape Eggman in the next issue? Also, Clutch should've learned: nobody, except for Sonic and his friends, FUCKS with the Eggman Empire and gets away with it! Also, that structure of the place where the Chaos Emerald looks very familiar. It couldn't be of Angel Island... So, what could it be of? And Lanolin making up for her mistakes was nice to. But will she earn back the trust of her friends? All questions that will have to wait to be answered until next month. But for now... Y'all better get ready... Because 3 days from now... In another world... A new adventure... Will soon... Begin.
Man, I love these comics. I know they take long, but they’re well worth the wait I love all the characters and they’re doing so much with so little of all the restrictions. They probably have to follow by Sega.
24:46 Ooh! That’s the symbol you get when you beat a level in Sonic Forces! Is my angst- ridden jackal boy finally making his return? Although, it was just the symbol for the resistance. And was most likely reused for the restoration. But I can hope!
I doubt she'd be hated. She too was deceived. She was just too harsh, mostly due to Mimic playing her and bringing out the worst in her. You can tell she felt awful once the truth came out and she spoke with Tangle and Whisper.
@@93SuperSonic she'll probably just be a base breaking character, like Sally Acorn from the archie comics, as while she's improved, at last, some people may still not forget and fewer people may still not forgive
Mimics transform ability is pretty insane if he had like a chaos emerald or some other outer force he could be a really dangerous fruit and transforming really dangerous things
Everything about this issue is great from the art to great lengths everyone was willing to go to get things done. Vector and the gang burning their hands to open the giant vault. Tails and the Orangutan helping Belle fix the motobug. The Babylon Rogues having all the other racers lift the ship. And Jewel. MY GOD, JEWEL was willing to sacrifice the restoration HQ and the people in it if it meant less casualties and deaths. Now that takes some conviction. It still would've sucked if everyone wasn't evacuated in time but the fact that she thought of such a drastic plan is still incredible. And just when you think Eggman can't pull anymore surprises, NOPE he still has 1 more unexpected trick up his sleeve. As for Clutch who knows what Eggman will do to him. But now I guess that he's gone Surge and Kit really won't know anything about their past. Good to see them get the final hit tho. And finally Lanolin. She's finally realizing her own faults and will hopefully change for the better. Now *_SHE_* has to be the one to face justice. And here's hoping Mimic faces his as well
While the Lanolin redemption arc will be nice to see and a well needed arc for this character (and a well expected apology to my boy Silver). I am caught up on why the Chaos emerald, or specifically the yellow chaos emerald is so drawn to the mines/cave aquifer. Last time a giant salamander was so protective of that place and Sonic sealed off the entrance because he knew it didn't want to be disturb. Can't wait to find out if the emerald was stolen or not.
Lanolin's wispon can be used as a megaphone?didn't know that. I guess i was right about Lanolin using her wispon to redeem herself, but not the way I imagined
Man, I really hope tangle learns how to absorb the wisp. It be a good like teamwork thing with whisper and she could have like a drill tail or laser tail or cube tail. You get the gist.
Finally the last issue is here and I loved it. I don't know where to begin first. First things first can I say I love the whole thing with Rough and Tumble helping out and being trapped bars with it being unlocked. That's honestly funny. And I like the whole thing with Surge and Kit. They will definitely come back and I like how they are just able to just be neutral while finding the enemy and finding Sonic. And I just love Surge's new move called overcharge, that's really cool. The whole ship falling and heading towards the city was definitely is anxiety inducing, I'm making a choice to make the whole ship land near the HQ and possibly destroying it is really sad to see after so many comic book issues. And I especially feel a lot for Jewel since she helps build this place up and it hurts to see it be destroy practically. For Eggman I really like how we just popped in for this new plan and planning to do something to Clutch. And I just like how Sonic and Jet are making this a race and a competition to see who can save the most people while everything is literally on fire. And I really like Talis and Belle's new invention of making a motorbug hover which save Sonic's life. And I'm kind of curious about the ending though with the whole Chaos Emerald missing will it tie in to Sonic Frontiers. Since these old relics reminds me of that. And finally I've been saving the best for last so whole fiasco between Tangle, Whisper, Lanolin, and Mimic. As soon as Mimic was exposed I literally yelled out yes out loud and I was just shooting for literally 5 minutes. And seeing Lanolin face being so bamboozled literally just cheered up my day. Like the smug satisfaction of looking on her face when she messed up will ever be ingrained in my mind and I'll not stop smiling about it. But I like she apologized for her actions and stuff and saying that you'll learn and I love how Tangle says that we're on the same side but also she is still very mad at her for doing all that and I couldn't agree more with Tangle. Lanolin chose to be heart headed and now look what happened a person infiltrated the group and now the ship is about to tank into a city and causing property damage. And what's worse is that Whisper was thinking that she was going insane at that point and that she was tweakin. All that just makes me so mad because all that could have been avoided but she said that she had made some mistakes too which I got to know as well. But I feel so bad for her because every time Mimic escapes. Like seriously look at the gloves. All this could have been avoided if you just be more observant but I understand why they can't be observant because they're in a serious crisis. And honestly I just want tingle and whisper to be happy and just recover from this whole loss thing with the whole restoration and try to build it back up and I don't want Lanolin to be leader any more until she really gets experience under her belt. But finally I just always wanted her to get her humbled like this and I'm seeing this right now it makes me so happy But finally I just always wanted her to get her humbled like this and I'm seeing this right now it makes me so happy. That look on her face will always make me geek. All that she needs to do is to apologize to Silver and honestly I would like for him to maybe hold a little bit of a grudge since he made him look like a bad guy, that or forgive. But honestly tingle is a better person than me though because if I found out that the person that I was trying to perpetrating inside of this restoration violating security and was clearly able to help conspire against a whole shipping tent into a whole city, I'll be mad to the point that I wouldn't really trust her until she has to earn my trust. Other than that I just love the arc from this storyline it was really peak and I can't wait for the next arc to live up to this one.
Well, talk about a climatic finale! The Eggman had a plan! Clutch got his sorry butt kicked all over the place by Sonic, Eggman AND Surge and now…well, who knows what nefarious deeds Eggman has planned for the possum boss. Looks like that’s the end of the old HQ for the Restoration. But everyone got out of there safely thanks to Sonic, Jet, and even Belle! Smart thinking with the Motobug. And the city was unharmed! No lives lost! Drat. Looks like Mimic got away again, but at least his identity has been exposed to the entire Diamond Cutter team. And by Clutch, no less! Talk about a bad boss! And lastly…Lano-lame. Welp, you just had to find out the hard way, did ya stupid sheep? But now you know that you were in the wrong. You’re gonna need to start pumping out apologies to the other Diamond Cutters, to Sonic and his pals, and especially to Silver. Poor guy didn’t deserve it. But…if she improves herself, makes those apologies, and becomes a better leader…then I’ll bump her up from an F-tier character to a D-tier character. But actions speak louder than words, so get to it sheep girl. All in all, a wonderful end to this arc. And we’ve got more to follow next month!
In all, this was a great issue. I can take the cuffs off Lanolin since she saw the error of her ways and the arc of the Restoration had been closed which is something I’ve wanted this comic to do for a while.
1. Lanolin has finally learnt her lesson, bet from now on she'll be less strict and more open minded when it comes to her teammates's suspensions and be more reasonable. That said I'm with Tangle, she has a LOT of apologizing to do, starting with Sliver. 2. Sucks that Surge and Kit never got thier answers about their past this arc. Guess we'll never know if Clutch was lying to them or if he really knew them before Starline. Can't wait to learn all about who they really are someday. 3. I wonder what Eggman is gonna do with Clutch now that he has him. Probably torture him or something. 4. Who the heck could've taken the chaos emerald from issue 68? And what is that place?

Finish him quick and there? Boring. Nah, Eggman is going to do something special. And maybe interrogate Clutch as to the whereabouts of the egg tec, possibly Intel on Clutch's buyers too.
Huh, well, this was one heck of a Finale to the Arc and Saga I suppose, while some of the things I expected to happen did happen, they didn’t happen in the way I thought they did, Like for example, i was expecting Mimic to finally get exposed, but i didn’t him to get exposed so right off the bat at the beginning of the Issue, I was expecting Eggman to do something, i didn’t expect the Board he gave Sonic to transform into a Robot that he could communicate through and so on. On top of that, I have to say, I can’t help but to feel rather disappointed with Surge and Kit, considering that they pretty much spent the majority of this Arc deciding to actually give the whole Hero thing a genuine shot, I was really hoping we could’ve at least one last sign of that with them doing at least one Heroic Act before the end of the Arc, but alas i guess they did say that there were no plans for Surge and Kitsunami to not be Villains anymore and yet, the Annual did show that they are still giving Heroics a try, which just makes me more disappointed that we didn’t get to see any indication of them doing something Heroic one last time. Anyway, there quite some interesting developments in this Issue, the biggest being the Destruction of Restoration HQ, i wonder if they will be able to rebuild it and if they do will it look different in any way? On top of that, Clutch is in Eggman’s hands now, i wonder what he’ll plan to do to him? Also, Mimic is apparently still out and about somewhere, somehow, to be honest I was kind of expecting him to meet his end in this Arc, but I guess not, which I guess means that they still have plans for him, i wonder what exactly and if it was worth keeping him alive here? Anyway, on top of everything, i think the thing we ended on is another one of the biggest developments in this Issue, with the most Questions, I wonder what that last Panel meant, who stole the Chaos Emerald, where is it now and how will it be involved in what’s next to come? I can’t to find out.
I wonder what Eggman is going to do to Clutch. Will he be a test subject for an upcoming plan Eggman is coming with or something else entirely different?
Lanolin betrayed their trust by being a hate filled, backwards thinking, hardheaded, self-righteous, full of herself, dumb-a-hole! You might as well get mad at Sandy Cheeks for not trusting Patrick Star with a nuclear bomb!

Polemic opinion Everyone mentions that Lanolin should apologize to Silver, but I think Whisper should also apologize to him. Even she thought the two of them were wrong about Duo.
@@videogollumer Silver didn't even know who Mimic was until he told her about Duo and she realized, she literally says “I was so sure he was Mimic” when he played the victim. She was able to defend Silver from Lanolin when she proposed that he leave the team with “ it was me who told her about Mimic, we both made a mistake ”. And instead her response was " I dont want to misguide you again. "
@@videogollumer what I said, people only mention lanolin but I think whisper also owes silver an apology. i repeat, it's personal opinion and it's perfectly fine if you agree or disagree.
Ngl, I felt Lanolin's redemption was a little rushed, and almost felt unearned. She still has a lot to answer for, and I hope future issues rectify this.
True, Lanolin could’ve said some more, but the priority was saving the city from being crushed by a giant falling hunk of burning metal. I’m sure she’ll deliver her proper apologies in issue 76

I don’t know bro that doesn’t really look like frontiers besides in the 2024 annual we saw the aftermath of this adventure sonic tails and Amy crash the tornado on angle island it really can’t lead to frontiers
I'm so happy with how Lanolin was presented after learning about Mimic. No one villainized her, no one made her out to be innocent. No one fully defended or fully yelled at her. They just said they'd talk about it later, but they knew she was trying her best even if it didn't work out for her.
Or anyone, for that matter.
Thank you !! i saw so many people whishing the worst fate to Lanolin
Same here. I disliked her as a character, but that does redeem her which I'm happy about.
I can't wait for the apology to Silver.
Fist thing on Lanolin’s docket is apologize to Silver.
and for her guilt and realisation to be fully established and put into speech bubbles in the next issue

@@RobertJames-i8j In regard to Lanolin, maybe; but in regard to Mimic, it couldn't be more cathartic. Clutch essentially betrayed Mimic by blowing his cover.

At least, Lanolin finally learned about Mimic.
I still think we could've had Whisper and Tangle work it out during the ride to the ship with the footage from Whisper's mask showing the difference between the phantom rider in misty spire and the one before (showing the possibility that Mimic was present), and also Duo's slip of tongue in which he somehow knew that Tangle and Whisper knew that Sonic was the phantom rider even though he was supposedly unconscious and couldn't have learn about it with Lanolin being with him the whole time and the Duo being so quiet (meaning Duo had to have been the second phantom rider). other than that, it was worth the wait, though the scattered pieces arc better have everything explained and out in the open, such as:
1-Why Sonic was the phantom rider
2-If Jewel already suspected Duo since issue 64 out of faith in Whisper's gut
3-the fact that team Sonic's boards were sabotaged, mainly to
4-Mimic impersonating the phantom rider and Surge
5-Lanolin fully realising ALL the mistakes she made and avoiding a karma Houdini
6-The fact that Clutch hired the Babylon Rogues in issues 65-66 as diversions to enable his deal without interference

The scenes with Lanolin in this issue were a huge reason why I was a lot more lenient with her behavior compared to most people. I figured it would be building towards some kind of character development, and I was right. I'm really curious to see what Eggman plans on doing with Clutch.

But we've still got the upcoming scattered pieces arc, which will be the epilogue to the Cleansweep saga. as for future sagas, I hope one takes place after sonic frontiers and had Belle meet up with Sage, her sister. they WERE both made by Dr Eggman after all
Knowing Eggman doesn't take kindly to other taking his inventions I wonder what's gonna happen to Clutch? 10:02
Or he might just be dead☠
@@Roark787I could see that, but Clutch has also shown himself to be rather impulsive when he loses his cool. Somewhat prideful too. So he may refuse.
While Tangle and Whisper didn't get the chance to expose Mimic themselves, they were essential in figuring out that there was more to the phantom rider than how it appeared, relayed the info to Jewel who then got her priorities straighter, protect Sonic from Surge and Lanolin, convinced Lanolin to let go of her pursuit of the phantom, enabling Sonic to get Clutch, and helped guide the ship to safety (though that last one was more of a Lanolin stand out moment as she directed them to do so)
As for the scenery in which the chaos emerald was in, could it be that the scattered pieces arc leads into sonic frontiers and what happens after issue 80 takes place afterwards. And i'd prefer if the next Saga was sci-fi based, with cyberspace, time travel and outer space
One word on who stole it:. Starline
Also, should Black Doom actually come back, and I'm actually hoping he does, then it's not just Shadow who'll have a personal beef with him:
Dr Eggman: Black Doom manipulated his grandfather into make that Faustian deal with him, leading to the misunderstanding which led to the tragedy, and he might even take it personally
Sonic: Black Doom tried to destroy the planet and EAT the inhabitants, including his friends
Whisper: Black Doom's role in creating Shadow led to a basis for shadow android, including the ones who killed her old friends
Tangle: same reason as Whisper
Rouge: Black Doom messed with Shadow, her friend
I'm so glad that Rough and Tumble were able to help out Sonic's friends, Mimic's true identity was finally revealed and The Babylon Rogues as well as the citizens are pitching in to help save the people inside the ship as well as save the city from facing total destruction. Such a great way to wrap up the conclusion of The Phantom Rider Arc.
Its kinda funny, how the entire tension off the crash came only about, because Silver wasnt there.
Lanolin has realized her grave mistake, but she still has apologies to crank out before she's out of trouble, LOTS of them.
But something tells me no one not gonna trust her anymore...
@@hannahbecker2309 what, for getting tricked and manipulated? She's not blameless, but the majority of the blame is always reserved for the duplicitous party.
@@HenshinFanatic trust me friend she did things that can't be forgiven weather she is being tricked or not
and also there are other mistakes she made that she still needs to realise, such as disqualifying team sonic for "faulty gear" when their boards were actually sabotaged, that 'Duo' actually faked his injuries, and also that she saw the phantom rider all wrong and that it wasn't really him who attacked her in issue 71
by anyway, looks like the Lanolin hate has died down a bit, and I'm glad, though I still won't forget what happened in issue 64
@@hannahbecker2309 Oh please, Silver tried to kill Sonic before because of being tricked. And he's given a free pass. Give me a break.
9:17 Did Kit modify parts of the Dynamo Cage to supercharger Surge's electricity.
The dynamo cage was destroyed a while back
Surge always had that. It just wasn’t shown. It was in a part of her IDW concept sheet.
I hope Sega learns that this is nice fuel for Sonic Riders4
Motobud…Flies…MOTOBUD IS FLYING!
21:47
Hope Lanolin don't get in universe hate because she doesn't deserve it.
@@RobertJames-i8j RJ, EVERY Sonic character is a base breaker.
10:02 at this point I don't know if clutch is playing died
What a way to end this arc. Loved it ❤
Mimics transform ability is pretty insane if he had like a chaos emerald or some other outer force he could be a really dangerous fruit and transforming really dangerous things
And here's hoping Mimic faces his as well
Men i really like this arc too , was fun thanks for upload all the chapters dude
@@fernandouzumakigameplays You're most certainly welcome 😊 I enjoyed Issue #75 It was amazing to the finale of the Phantom Rider story arc.
Im really excited to see what happens next for this story!
2:48 Silver and Whisper were right Duo the Cat was actually Mimic he was a spy all along.
Man, I really hope tangle learns how to absorb the wisp. It be a good like teamwork thing with whisper and she could have like a drill tail or laser tail or cube tail. You get the gist.
7:37 Twist! I did not see that coming
This is it, the OUTSTANDINGLY BRILLIANT climax of The Phantom Rider Arc that was well worth the wait.😎
finally Lanolin getting redeemed, now we need to see her apologizing to lots of people
Well, talk about a climatic finale!
Apologies still need to be said, though.
@ Indeed, to Sonic, Tails, Amy, and especially Silver.
9:10 I got RandomGoon flashbacks when I saw this panel...

“Careful, where’s the fun in that?”

Bro needs to stop turning into purple-blue creatures.
I love the metal eggman
If Eggman ever transferred his consciousness to a robot, it should be that one.
13:25 That greenish fox guy in the corner with the orange vest...Why is he just standing there, staring at the ship? He doesn't look scared, or shocked, he's just observing...creepy.
This arc made me want to revisit all 3 sonic riders games!

To those gaurds, honestly, slay.
Huh, well, this was one heck of a Finale to the Arc and Saga I suppose, while some of the things I expected to happen did happen, they didn’t happen in the way I thought they did,
Like for example, i was expecting Mimic to finally get exposed, but i didn’t him to get exposed so right off the bat at the beginning of the Issue,
I was expecting Eggman to do something, i didn’t expect the Board he gave Sonic to transform into a Robot that he could communicate through and so on.
Anyway, on top of everything, i think the thing we ended on is another one of the biggest developments in this Issue, with the most Questions,
I wonder what that last Panel meant, who stole the Chaos Emerald, where is it now and how will it be involved in what’s next to come?
I can’t to find out.

Whisper didn't think that any more than Silver did.
@@videogollumer
Silver didn't even know who Mimic was until he told her about Duo and she realized, she literally says “I was so sure he was Mimic” when he played the victim.
She was able to defend Silver from Lanolin when she proposed that he leave the team with “ it was me who told her about Mimic, we both made a mistake ”.
