The rubbery feel of the Husky is by far better than the rigid plastic WeatherTechs for long drives. They also fit better and aren’t slippery with mud or ice. The WeatherTechs will start to curl in the upright spots. I used WeatherTechs religiously in all my previous vehicles until someone suggested I give Husky a shot...best advice ever.
I'm definitely a Husky over WeatherTech guy. But if I had a vinyl floor like your dad I wouldn't bother with either. I mean, that's the whole point of having the vinyl floor in the first place. You basically put plastic furniture covers over plastic furniture covers in your dad's truck.
I honestly think it depends on the car. I liked the weathertechs better for my Honda CR-V. Just an opinion. Although, I don't think you can go wrong with either ones.
I’ve had multiple sets of each and I don’t think I’ll ever own Weathertechs again. Weathertechs tend to lose their shape easier and slide around more since they don’t have the little “needles” on the bottom side that grab the carpet. That being said, I went with the GMC floor liners this go around and like them better than both the Husky’s or Weathertech’s.
The one issue i wonder about is that Husky is rubber and rubber has an odour and emits things into air and it does not go away in time. It is a health issue to some. I bought weather tech because they are vinyl and do not emit odours from the material. I Got a rubber toyota liner for back of truck bed and the smell never went away and had to get rid of it because my labs were reacting to it. Eyes watering, sneezing etc.
I got Husky mats for my Fiesta ST. I got a good deal from a vendor on a forum. They fit great. Looks like I got the best brand, but I'd go with whichever was cheapest. Either is better than trashing your floor.
Had WT in my 2012 Acadia. The front driver's side never fit correctly and always had kids tripping on the center mat where it didn't grip the carpet. Just traded SUVs and going with Husky this time. Thanks for the helpful content!!
Good video. Bought Husky for my 2013 FJ that I just purchased. Ugh--static like crazy and must need hot summers day heat to help them lay entirely flat. They make a thud sound when stepping on them, since they aren't laying 100% flat as they're expected to. Sure wish the rear mat had snaps to keep it in place, because it does slide easily under backseat passengers feet. Ultimately I bought the Toyota (OEM) All-weather mats for using in my rig...I'm okay with reduced floor coverage, but prefer rubber mats more...plus the fact that they all have button snaps. May rubber-coat the Huskys and give them a chance this summer, since I'd lose too much money returning them to Amazon seller and incur ridiculous restocking fees. Would love it if the Husky's and Weathertech were more 50/50 rubber/plastic. Thanks, again, for publishing the video--it helps people in their decision-making.
I’m on both websites $209.90 for weather tech $169.15 for husky. That’s cheaper and offer the same quality and coverage. That’s a no brainer. I would save money any day. So I’m going with husky.
I opened my WT mats twenty minutes ago and I am now sending them back and ordering new mats straight from Jeep 🚙. WT seem to be inexpensively made and one can tell that gaps will be present around the edges. There is no carpeting and the mats are not at all what I expected for the money 💰 PS The rear mats and cargo mats are just as inadequate . MAGA🇺🇸

Price of mat
Justin Hager that’s my problem. I don’t want slippery plastic under my feet. Freaks me out. So husky is the grippy rubber ones?
