If it's hard for the ghosts to communicate with the people who don't believe in them, then there existence itself is questionable. it makes me believe that the ghosts only exist in the minds of people who believe in them and that's what causes them to hear and feel their presence. The Human mind is very powerful.

That was probably his personality to.
This is pretty compelling for me. Al Capone was known to use the phrase "look at [blank]" a lot, with quite a few of his quotes involving that phrase. On top of that, the Spirit Box reacted negatively to them saying "Scarface", Al was known to hate the name Scarface and perfered to be called "Snorky". Normally to think that they had a Spirit Box session with someone as universally famous as Al Capone would be questionable, but seeing how well this session fit Al Capone's personality, I find it pretty compelling.

Have you ever been to Eastern State penitentiary? That neighborhood is very shady and you should be a little more concerned about the living around there. Because there's more of a chance of those people turning you into ghosts, then there is of you encountering a ghost.

The scariest things about these haunted places is their history. How people, or in this case, a group of people manage to do cruelty and torture without any remorse or conscience. I don't think I'd ever think of using a torture device like iron gag on someone simply because they were being "too loud" even if that was considered legally correct back then.
You're not dealing with 600 violent disturbed convicts together. Sometimes discipline must be maintained.

Funniest thing I've read all day, still laughing
The story of Al Capone encountering the ghost of one of the people killed in the St Valentine’s Day massacre is sort of true. He had neural Syphilis which caused him to hallucinate the people that he had killed in the past and have full conversations with him. So he was most likely just hallucinating.
That's really interesting
the book "how the brain lost its mind" is a novel that really delves into neural syphilis and talks about capone's case in more detail, highly recommend
Even though Ryan is scared all the time... it is HE who suggests to spend sometime alone in the cell or the rooms which are actively haunted. This guy maybe a chicken-heart but he sure is pretty cool. Shane is such a fun sport all the time. I would NEVER be afraid if I were to go to these places with Shane.
When I visited Teresienstadt the elderly tour guide we had chose me out of the group to stay in the room Gavrilo Princip (assassin of Archduke Franz Ferdinand) to show how terrifying it was. Mainly because of how dark it is and how little light actually comes through the peep hole (which was regularly closed by guards). This comment reminded me of it because I absolutely loved doing that for the short time, also because I wasnt supposed to be in there but the tour guide was really cool

There were other people down there with them. It's actually a pretty common place for squatters/addicts to chill out coz it's usually not occupied outside the Halloween season meaning they essentially get it all to themselves, but a lot of them like to mess with ghost hunters and urbexers to either scare them away or honestly just coz it's fun. Source: I did it a lot in my homeless alcoholic phase. I don't remember any of 2012 except watching a couple shooting up in an abandoned catholic girls boarding school.

LMAO I think the only place where Shane (and the cameraman) admitted that it's actually terrifying to be in was in Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Especially when they were in the body chute and they were hearing animalistic screeching. LOL

ok but this prison’s setup sounds very useful in this modern age w/ covid??? workout spaces where inmates can exercise without contact? no physical contact with other inmates and limited contact with guards? i mean systems like this would help stop the spread of covid in the prison systems.

Solitary confinement is literally psychological torture. It's not moral to limit prisoners contact with other humans
