Dude, excellent job! You are a fantastic teacher! The most helpful tutorial I've come across for changing an Outlander CV axle.
Did my struts 2 weeks ago based on your instruction and it was exact. Thanks saved me $500???
I need to replace both axles on my wife's 2012 Galant FE. I just got them both out thanks to this video. Now it's off to O'Reilly.
I know this video is 3 years old, but bro thank you! It's a great video, very informative, straight to the point and everything. Just got my axle replaced with your help, and I appreciate the hell out ya!
This man deserves a golden globe award this is the best instructional video I've ever seen. Bravo this will be done to my gs 2009 galant you made it easier its been awhile since I've done this job. Thank you
This is by far the best video I've ever seen in regards to auto repair. Just bought a project ride of a '02 Galant and your video popped right up and saved my ass. Good thing I got needle nose pliers, a hammer, and every cuss word in my vocabulary. Good stuff man keep it coming. Thank you for your video
This is the 2nd time Ima do this to my 99 eclipse. This time I'm going to also replace the transmission oil seal where the cv axle goes in since it's been leaking since the other time I replaced the cv axle. This video does a great job explaining everything and is very detailed. Perfect for anybody who's planning of changing their cv themselves. Great job man👊
Great video dude. I like that you didn't show every single painstaking step, only what it's absolutely necessary to know.
Thanks for the very clean voiceover and getting to the point, saving the vid for later so i can help my sister out with hers
You rock man, thank you. My exhaust manifold split almost in half and Mitsubishi's taking their time sending me the new part, so in the meantime I'm working on other needed repairs such as the power steering pump and the passenger-side CV joint. If the CV replacement isn't too over the top, I'll try replacing the driver side too.
Followed this video and performed the fix on my vehicle (2010 Galant). Works like a charm! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video the process used was so much easier than some other videos. And you are straight-to-the-point right into the video. If you do another video like this though it would help to explain that the ABS ring on the CV axle can also be used on a non abs. When my axle came out it didn't have that ring and I was so confused until I did some research. But if it's fine. Thank you again for this video. I hope to see more
Love your videos bro! They’re short, concise, and most importantly super informational! Keep it up brotha
That was really good. thanks for the tip about popping in the rear of the axle - that stuff is gold!
Great videos. Probably the best car repair vids I have watched. My daughter has a Galant and I've watched a few of your vids to make the work I do on it way easier. Giving the tool size needed is an extra perk. Walk up to that bad boy prepared :)
One thing though, modern automobiles are designed with very tight specs, this includes the bolts. I always torque all brake and suspension bolts. Too loose and it could come loose, wear quickly and fail. Too tight and you risk stress failure of the bolt, not something you want to happen on the road.
super video, step-by-step instruction, excellent camera work and funny as well. hope you continue to make these, as they help me work on my kids cars to save them some $$$. I've used youtube lots for car/plumbing/electrical/etc, and this is one of the best. We'll see how many swear words I use tomorrow. Thanks, John
Glad I have the Australian version of the Galant (380) so there are video's from you Yanks, appreciate your help😅.
great video man. very straight to the point... thanks
Great explanation and video. Thank you. I think I have to change one on my car.
Simple and fast. Thank you 🙏🏽
Great video , doing mine this weekend . Thanks for the help man .
Great video brother very detailed and well performed
I've been working on my 09 lancer , basically rebuilt the car at this point, I'm on my front hubs, bearings and axles at the moment. Your video saved me tons of time. Also one of the best videos when it comes to explanation and good shots! Fucking Mint 👌
Dude is a tutor. Thanks
Awesome video very detailed
Great video
I just replaced the CV axles on my Mitsubishi 2012. I had a copy of the factory service manual and the procedure in there was much more involved than yours. After fussing and cussing for hours with the passenger side I used your method on the driver side. It took me 45 minutes to change the axle. The Mitsubishi process caused me to damage the ball joint as I needed to use a fork to get it out and it tore the boot.😢 Also Mitsubishi said you needed to remove the antilock wheel sensor. That bolt was frozen and of course it broke off. There was no reason to remove it. You should be writing manuals for the company because with all the special tools they said I needed and I got it took me close to 2 days to do the job I could have done in an hour and a half with your method and broke or destroyed nothing. A curse on you Mitsubishi service manual writer. Just goes to show a service manual isn't always the best way to do something.
Best video on this , great job
You just saved the day for me
Thanks for the video 👍👍👍🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Hi. Great Video. Im trying to diagnose a 2011 gallant's vibration under acceleration ( mostly felt above 60). Could this be a symptom of worn out axels? Doesnt vibrate in neutral. Brand new tires all around didn't help. Thanks.
Awesome Video!!
PS: looks like you do Jeeps too. I have a 98 ZJ that's gonna need some work too. Subscribed
Very Nice thanks. " You'll need every curse word in your vocabulary" LOL
Great video! Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the help. 👍
Well the video makes it look easy enough, I may try it. My luck though I usually manage to take things apart but can never get them back together
Trust me its simple, this was my first time doing it
Alright I'll give it a shot in the next few days. O since some transmission fluid comes out should I buy some to refill once completed?
Crazy ex wife ran mine through a fence, got barbed wire tangled all up underneath, it tore that rubber part and grease is coming out. Lol
@@stephenreynolds4204 yes buy some transmission fluid about 4 quarts because it will leak once you pull the shafts
Got everything off and realized they sold me the one for the other side. Just my luck
thank you awesome video
Great video man. Doin mine this week. Btw does this process apply the same on a mitsubishi lancer 1993?
Thanks, im not sure if it applies to the '93 Lancer though
Great video!
do you know offhand if a 2002 Galant use the same 24mm bolts? either way I need to buy bigger sockets just wanna make sure. thanks
Good job my twin.
Good video man
Thank you
Very informative. I pulled my old one out and the hub side of it was too big. Trans axle side fit fine but hub side would not go on.
Found out there's different types depending on the model
Good shit!
great video, I was wondering, do you have to disconnect the sway bar link also?
Lyle Bitsue no I didnt disconnect the sway bar link
Is this the same process for a 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo? I went to check out parts and it looks like there is a passenger and driver side CV axle
Jonathon Baker no because your Jeep has solid axles. heres a video that will give you an idea on what you will have to do to remove those axle shafts.

A fam I switched out a CV axle it fixed a banging issue the customer was having but they still have a lot of vibration at start up any ideas?
Does he have a video for the driver side at all?
I’m having problems on putting on the cv axle is putting it into the hub on the driver side. Do I put the hub on be for I put it on the strut and all so it feels like it will not go into the hub what am I doing wrong?
Sir why does my car shift but wont move at all even in reverse. When im not stepping on the clutch there are some weird rolling noise which is I think from the CV axle or from the boot part. My speedo reads some speed when im not pressing the clutch and coming back to as I press the clutch and the weird noises gone as I press in the clutch. What possible problem of my car sir? It is a Mitsubishi Lancer with a Manual Transmission on it. Hope you answer sir. Thanks a lot!
Is the driver side cv axle the same as the passenger side 🤔 for mitsubishi galant 2009
No they different. You buy left and right side. The right side passenger is longer then the left passenger.
I impact all the time with those duralast sockets they can take a beating
Where are you located? I really need u
Good video, thanks. I have a 2003 Galant V6. But like most mechanics, you failed to mention the torque specs when reassembling almost everything. Also, i dont recommend using anti-seize. Again, like most mechanics, they use air tools and the anitseize allows you guys to over torque nuts/bolts which makes it impossible to customers to loosend their own nuts/bolts. Not good. Over torqueing/Undertorqueing can be unsafe and/or break nuts/bolts. Ps u sound like you've been oppressed for over 400 years.
For the Galant does anyone know if a c clamp is needed on the axel?
You dont need a c-clamp for the axle
Hahah it looked alot easier putting it back together than it did taking it apart for some reason.
to remove the pin I just said fuck it and cut the end of the CV AXLE VERY CAREFULLY with an angle grinder i hope this doesn't fuck me up later
Lol youll be ok
@@barricadegarage5361 yeah it worked great got both sides off in less than an hour each
J
Great video
