- Hello, friends! Join me as I finish up another UFO (unfinished object)! This is Part 1 of this video - we will be making a CD Quilt Block.
Also, I'll show how my vintage Singer 128 is threaded as well as how I wind a bobbin.

I have just found your videos. I love watching all the details about your charming cabin, and your quilting tips. I have a 1910 Singer with a shuttle bobbin. I bought it from a charity shop to clean and oil, and give it a good home, but I haven’t quite mastered the bobbin. You have encouraged me to try again. Thank you. I watch from Surrey in UK.
Wonderful! The shuttle can be tricky. But once you get it, you’ve got it!

Found your videos by accident but I am sure glad I did! It brings back lots of memories from my childhood! I learned to sew on a treadle machine that had a bobbin just like yours in the video! I am watching from Walstonburg, NC. I love the off grid sewing with the hand crank antique sewing machine and the sad iron. Would love to see a video on the sad iron, how you got it ready for use, how you maintain it, and different options for heating them. I have several and it never occurred to me that I could actually use them.

Thank you for showing how to thread the bobbin. I have a singer treadle since the late 80's with that kind of bobbin. Haven't used it yet, but getting closer. What kind of thread do you use (brand, wt., cotton)? Love your videos, find them relaxing.
Glad it was helpful! I prefer Mettler Cotton or Aurifil on my vintage machines. 50 weight thread
