      I have a friend who has been dredging a gold-baring river in upstate SC and has been finding much bigger pieces than this. Pretty nice sized pickers and nuggets.
      Thanks for watching

    That’s something that I want to do, dig dirt from a creek. I have run some pay dirt but just not the same as digging your own. Beautiful spot. Thanks for sharing.

    New Hampshire prospector, here. I'm relocating to Landrum! Any gold in those local creeks? I'll be looking

      Awesome! There is absolutely gold in that area. You’ll definitely get on some. The green river, broad river and Pacolet rivers all have good gold in them, and they aren’t far from there.

      I haven’t panned many of those streams. We did some dredging years ago north of Hy 11 and found a few fly poop pieces.

      I plan on doing more of that. I have been confined to stay near home lately, and there are no known gold nuggets big enough a detector will pick up around where I am.
      Even at the gold camps we go to there are rules that you can’t detect the piles of paydirt. I really look forward to getting back out to Arizona and doing some gold nugget detecting for that week in April.

    Dont talk bad bout my name now, you dont know what it feels like when people just blow up with excitement only to realize I'm not what you thought - and you just wanna toss me down the creek and never see me again lmfao 😮😢😅😂 What you dont realize is that I always show up before the good stuff - that Au arrives and you realize that you see me first every time and the party comes next lol 😏😉 Sorry to drag that out im feelin my homebrew lol 😂 I'm a 23 year old Oconee native and have only now been really getting into relic hunting and prospecting. Hoping to be able to make more time and start detecting again and prospecting and relic hunting soon 🙏 so excited and I just found your channel recently and I love your videos - will definitely be watching more for the next few days lol. Nice to see how native people do it. You from GA or SC?

    Great video! I do a lot of panning around mid south Carolina saluda river area you had the right signs should have done a little more test panning but you'll get an easier reveal with a black pan ..also you should try a micro dream mat in the banjo pan great for micro gold recovery

    • @southernrelics
      @southernrelics  Год назад +1

      I’d love to do some prospecting over that way. Good suggestion. I’ll have to use one of my black pans when I hit that spot again.

      I am new to gold panning (couple of months in) have been hitting it pretty hard couple of days every week and every weekend, found gold in NC, quite a few creeks in between saluda and savanna river, nothing in saluda. I only tried little saluda and richland creek but I did find a quartz vein jutting out the side wall of a cut made for the highway to run through. Need to get up there and get a sample. Unfortunately I haven't found anything in mid south carolina or anywhere in south carolina for that matter worth running through a sluice or panning. Very very fine pieces and two very small thin flakes. If I'm finding small gold in these creeks, do you think there are areas of the same creeks with deposits or paysreaks worth working? And are there any creeks you would be willing to share the location of that are worth working?

    • @cptthrawn1841

      Oh, have you had any luck in fairfield?

    • @southernrelics

      I will say the broad river in SC is a gold bearing river. Nice size gold too. You can look up some tributaries and creeks that run into it to help find good gold.
      I usually spend my time now at the LDMA/GPAA claims now that I’m a member.

    How can I start panning for gold in the Charleston SC and areas around here Do u have to have licence and can I go to any water to pan????

    • @southernrelics
      @southernrelics  10 месяцев назад

      I will answer what I know. In SC public waters are free game to look for gold. You don’t have to have a permit unless you are on national forest land, and their laws are strange.
      Private property is best
